Very good Karbock, thank you. I'm taking a look at the file. I started to translate the parts highlighted with $$$. I will post the corrections soon.

When converting select the option "Replace the source file - the original file will be deletecd".

After whitelisting did you reinstall MusicBee? It had happened to me that Defender had deleted  the MusicBee.exe file. That's why it wouldn't start.

7
Make sure your HD has no problems, you can use the portable (Zip) version of CrystalDiskInfo found here:
https://crystalmark.info/en/download/

8
Qtfiles64.7z is a compressed archive, you have to extract its contents into the Qtfiles64 folder inside the Codec folder (MusicBee/Codec/Qtfiles64).

To make things easier for those with problems, everything is found here already done:

You can check the log whenever you want: it records all errors that have happened in the past since you installed MB.

11
Did you check the log file?
Help >Support >View Error Log
Probably in the transition between 32 and 64 bits something went wrong. Maybe some drivers.
Also try the portable version of MB.

Playback speed is set to "Normal"?

So why does Music bee crash sometimes? somebody explain why that happens? This is not something you can replicate because its quite random and beyond your control.
Its not a one man project. It was shared with the public in order to improve it. He couldnt have done that alone. People like me ought to be highly valued for the insights they provide. If it takes so much effort to do something so simple then maybe the software needs to be changed? I have already discovered one bug which i have posted about where there are missing tracks. Perhaps there are more we dont know about.

Music Bee is fantastic software, probably the best of its kind. And it is completely free. Don't complain about flaws that only you find. Have the humility to learn how to use it by reading the wiki and posting sensible questions on the forum, where you will find plenty of friendly people willing to help you.

Questions / Re: most 'robust' MB configuration?
« on: May 08, 2023, 04:01:47 PM »

Roby, could you please clarify what you mean by "activate Safely Remove from the control panel, i.e. disable the cache". is this different from simply ejecting the device? i am googling it right now but i can't find it

Panel Control > Hardware and Sound >System Properties
Clic on External USB Device > Property > Criteria
Set on Quick Removal.
So in case of a crash I would not lose any data.
Again. Check the cable, sometimes they fail and can cause the HD to crash.

A word of advice, activate Safely Remove from the control panel, i.e. disable the cache. MB is very robust, I use it on an external USB 3 HD and have never had any problems.
Also check that the HD has no problems, e.g. with Crystal Disk Info.
