Questions / Re: How sort playlist
« on: July 30, 2019, 07:14:59 PM »
What you need to do is set up a custom sort order. Go to your playlist and right click on the header bar above the tracks. Hover over Sort By and click on Define Custom Sorting. Click on the first custom sort slot and it will bring up sort options. Don't forget to click Save so you don't lose your work. From there, you can resort your tracks to your preferred order at any time.

Not exactly what I want, but I now know much more of sorting. Thanks ;)

Questions / Missing songs in chronicle
« on: July 30, 2019, 06:46:09 PM »
Hi, maybe I missunderstand this function. In my Musicbee chronicle should appear all played songs or am I wrong? Cause after 2 way WiFi sync not all played songs appear there, just some of them. But playcount and last played date were changed correctly for all songs by MB.

I signed up as a beta tester and have been testing Wifi syncing with MusicBee and GoneMad. Last week I had syncing working well. I did the initial sync and was able to test changes from MusicBee to GoneMad successfully.

Today I cannot get the WIFI app working, I am getting the following error message:

Server not found. Ensure MusicBee is running and Window firewall is not blocking MusicBee.

Take a look at your Wi-Fi settings. Maybe one device is running with 2,4GHz and other device with 5GHz. I think I remember, that another user had this issue. And I mean, that I had same problem a few weeks before. Try to set both devices to 2,4 or 5GHz.

Sorry, I've had a very distracting week. But this virtual tag works for me to sort it the way you describe:

Code
$If(<Play Count>=0,0000-00-00,$Date(<Last Played>,yyyy-MM-dd))

Thanks. Will try, when I find time. I'm also busy at the moment.

But whats with the half star rating? Is it a sync issue or a GoneMad thing? Other half star ratings sync correctly e.g. 1.5, 3.5 etc.
no idea

Now it worked with another song. My fault maybe. GoneMad dev will contact you for implement of skip count!

But 3.0 is interesting, cause it has skip count Implementation.
you might ask the developer to include the skip count in the stats file and if he agrees let me know what it will be named as in the file

I wrote the GoneMad dev. Hope it will be possible.

I think it's best to ask GoneMad developer for the syncing issue.
The latest public release 2.2.21 is syncing without any visible issue for me.

Public release also works for me, but with 3.0 alpha MB sync shows an error, that it needs unlocked version, which it is. But 3.0 is interesting, cause it has skip count Implementation.

Hi, Steven.
I got 2 questions.
1.) Syncing with GoneMad 3.0 alpha currently not working or am I wrong?
2.) When I rate a song with 0,5 star in GoneMad, MB doesn't sync rating. All other ratings are syncing correctly to MB database, but 0,5 left song unrated within Musicbee. Is it an issue, while syncing or is it only on my own?

Hi. Can it be, that MB does not sync with GMMP 3.0 alpha yet? I get a message, that unlocked version is needed. But unlocked version is installed.

If a song hasn't been played, you want it sorted by date added, and after all of those you want the rest sorted by last played date?

I think you could do something with a virtual tag for this. If I've got the right idea, I'll have a play around with it.

Thanks. But it's ok, when it's not possible.

If it's what I described, I think it is possible, just want to be sure i understand first.

Yes, I think u understand right. But I will explain more exactly. I have a autoplaylist, based on manual playlist, which I permanently continue with new imported songs.

Song A: new imported, never played
Song B: last played 06-13-18
Song C: last played 03-01-19

It should appear/played and synced to my Android in following order: A>B>C. After play it should be: B>C>A
So, that newest songs are always high priority, longer not played songs as next and songs which has newer playdate as last.

Hi, Freddy.
In Mediamonkey it's working flawless. It lists recently added as first and then it sorts the other songs by Last played. It's a good function, but not a must have. Musicbee has other great playlist functions, which the Monkey doesn't have.

I did use MM for a while when I got sick of i-Toons, and it was ok, but MB is next level.

I'm sure your sorting preference is also possible in MB, but I'm not at my PC right now to be able to figure it out, and I'm too old to recall from memory how to...
I may have a play tommorow and try myself and get back to you, unless another poster beats me to it!
Freddy

Yes. Mediamonkey is good, but it's a little bit outdated. And that's no reason, turn back to it. Musicbee has a better audioengine and playlist handling and GonemadPlayer has also a better audioquality, than Mediamonkey for Android.

Hi, maybe it's simple, but I don't know how. Maybe you can Help. I created an autoplaylist, which is permanently feeded with new imported songs. I want Musicbee sort this list this way: 1.) songs which are imported last and 2.) songs with last played date sort ascending. With Mediamonkey it was easy create such a list. But with Musicbee, I don't know how.

As long as you are showing the fields you want to sort in "Set Displayed Fields", then it should be a simple matter of clicking on the heading to sort in the order you prefer, and just click again to reverse the order.

https://musicbee.fandom.com/wiki/Tracks_View

Be aware that if you sort on "Last played" its quite likely to contradict the "Recently Added" sorting, in that case it may be better to have a separate auto-playlist for each option, you just need to experiment to see what's best for you.

I also have a Nokia 8 on Android Pie. The initial wired sync works flawlessly. But when I want to do the wifi sync, the app says "Musicbee can't match the device name...". I then type "Nokia 8" (the device name appearing in Musicbee) and try to locate the server but I'm taken back to the same  error screen. Btw, TA-1004 is the specific model of my Nokia 8.
The issue must be related to how Nokia phones handle media storage, because my Motorola phone doesn't have this issue

That's why I was fed up with my Nokia 8. See a few posts before. Also GMMP had several times problems with scanning media. After a camera issue I bought a Motorola OneVision now and have no big problems with sync WiFi and wireless.
