Portable Devices / No renaming while syncing
« on: December 10, 2022, 09:38:53 PM »
I don‘t know, if it’s a bug or not.
I want to sync and make separate folders for each playlist. And it’s necessary to trim and rename files. But Musicbee doesn’t recognize my settings. No matter what I do, filename is always same (the original). While not syncing to separate folders, filenames are trimmed and renamed.

Questions / Problem with autoplaylists
« on: December 09, 2022, 07:43:36 AM »
Hi,
I've a question and I hope you can help me. Maybe it's real simple, but I don't get it.
I've some auto playlists on my desktop, which are created from static playlists. They auto refresh based on things like ratings.
Those autoplaylists sometimes have more than 1000 entrys. My car audio doesn't like playlists with more than 1000 entrys,
so I've to split those lists. Now I've created autoplaylists based on those lists, but with 1000 entry limit and also auto refresh.
So far so good, it contains same songs. But the order is another. I can do what I want, but everytime it randomize the order.

That's the order of the original:

That's the order of the splitted:

The settings of original playlist:

The settings of splitted list:

I want same order as in original playlist. Maybe it's not possible. I don't know.

Best regards...

I use GMMP.
Wifi transfer doesn't work for me, but I can get playcount and rating sync'd with no problem.

How do you sync ratings and playcount without WiFi 2-way? I thought it's impossible?

Questions / Re: Tagging Mixtape and Feat. artist or Remixes

Thank you

I had to read it multiple times to understand it. Pictures will help for newbies

To do all of that manual seem a time-consuming task. I will try.

Thanks

Yes. It's a hard work to build up a good collection. And you must decide, if it's worth. It's just my hobby to fine tune my collection. I do it step-by-step, cause I know, it's a neverending story. I can also live with rudimentary tagged files, cause audio won't change. But I like it, when it becomes more perfection. BTW, you'll never find an app, which will satisfying doing this for you.

Here you can see, what I meant post before.

1. Since I use FLAC for archiving I only have mixes/livesets with splitted files (which play gapless), which are all tagged separately. In the past (old MP3 times) I tagged title with set/mix name and artist with mixing DJ.

2 & 3. Let's say I've a song "Lena X Nico Santos - Better (MOKABY X Blondee &. Roberto Mozza Remix)", I go this way. Display and sort artist tag: "Lena X Nico Santos", then separate artists, artist:Lena, artist: Nico Santos, then remixer: MOKABY, remixer: Blondee, remixer: Roberto Mozza. Title tag: Better (MOKABY X Blondee &. Roberto Mozza Remix).

If I have a feat. in title, I set a guest artist tag and write the featuring artist into display and sort artist tag. I. E.
"David Guetta -
Can't You Feel The Change (featuring Chris Willis)", I'll tag display/sort artist: David Guetta featuring Chris Willis. Artist: David Guetta, guest artist: Chris Willis. Title tag: Can't You Feel The Change. Can't show you pictures yet, but hope it's understandable.

Yes, almost surely a file format issue.

Yes. Seems to be format issue. So, will go back to good ol' MP3.

Hmm...very strange.  You don't have "Replace genre tag with: Genre Category" checked in the device settings, do you?

What does it show if you long-press the song in Poweramp and look at the tags?

For the record, here's what I have (only screenshotted two of the three genres, but it's under each of them)]

No. And how I said, I send my file to desktop and all genres were showing.

That's what Poweramp shows me:

Maybe a format thing, because OGG?!

If you go to your library in Poweramp, though, and go to the genres, you will see Black Hole Sun listed under both the Grunge genre and Alternative Rock genre.  I verified that it works this way before my initial post.

Hi Frankz,
don't know why. But Poweramp doesn't for me. I checked also before I repost. I also took a look at the file with dbpoweramp tag editor on my desktop, to see if tags were transferred correctly and they did. But Poweramp library shows only Grunge. Other songs same.

Just an FYI the semicolon is a display and entry contrivance / shortcut.  If you look in the tag inspector, there are actually multiple GENRE tags for files, not one separated by anything.

I use PowerAmp, and PowerAmp does read the multiple genre tags. It splits them out into individual genres in your library displays them in tags with a colon.

In reality, though, these are both ways to display what are actually multiple genre tags in one line.

Yes. A look into tag inspector is the answer, my fault.
But BTW, Poweramp takes only first genre. I. E. Soundgarden - Blackhole sun, I tagged with Grunge and Alternative rock. But only Grunge is displayed in Poweramp.

Hi community,
I sync WiFi between MB <> Poweramp. Poweramp support multiple genre, but I don't know, how I have to setup separators within. How does MB separates multiple genres?

Perhaps you should also check in with GMMP's forum to see if this is an error on the GMMP side. And to make sure it can read the ratings that MB sends over.

I can sync to phone, when I choose Poweramp and when I scan with Gonemad, Gonemad reads ratings. But when I choose Gonemad for sync I get an error.

Hi all
Just an update i test the new version and all went fine for sync with android 10 and external sdcard.
Just now a bug with gmmp rating sync :  sendStats: Unable to retrieve stats for player: 1

Have the same error on Huawei P30 with Android 10.
Can't sync with Gonemad 2.2.23. I can't do playlist sync also, only full sync. If I try it shows no playlists, only red server not running error, but full sync works.
With Poweramp it's fine. I've also the following issue. When I create an autoplaylist, limit tracks, random list, play or rate one of this songs in poweramp and sync back to musicbee, it shows that files not match. But files exist on Android and within Musicbee library.

the point is usually the timestamps are expressed as seconds from 1970 but in some cases they are being expressed as milliseconds from 1970

Yes. Seems so. But not a big thing, like I said, as long as playcount syncs correctly. Thanks for good work!
