MusicBee Wishlist / Display Image Sizes in Internet Search Window
« on: February 06, 2015, 08:45:07 PM »
As the title says, I'd love to be able to know the size of a particular artwork image when tagging an album/song. I know the dimensions are already visible, but sometimes a 1000x1000 image is 250kb and sometimes it's 2.5mb. This can make a significant difference when tagging multiple files.

If the file size was easily visible in the tagging window, it would make my tagging jobs just that much faster.

I edited a screencap of the window I'm referring to with an example of where the file sizes could be displayed in red text.

MusicBee Wishlist / Exclude punctuation when searching for lyrics
« on: November 16, 2011, 09:07:53 PM »
Title pretty much sums it up. Basically, some of my files won't get updated when I click "Auto-tag by track > Update Missing Lyrics" simply because they have punctuation. For example, Don't Stop by Red Hot Chili Peppers doesn't update because of the apostrophe. Not sure if this is a bug, but if it's not, it would be nice to allow the auto-tagger to exclude certain characters like apostrophes, parentheses, commas, etc. Also, having the ability to exclude things like "(feat. X)" or "(Live)" or "(Acoustic)" would also help.

Thanks!

MusicBee Wishlist / Maximum Album Art Size
« on: November 09, 2011, 11:11:07 PM »
I know there's currently an option to set the minimum album art size to be obtained by the auto-tagger, but being able to set a maximum would be nice too. This could either be implemented by file size (i.e. "files must be less than X kb") or by dimensions ("maximum image size |_____|").

Or, it would be even nicer if for google searches to use a set value that could be inputted into the "Exactly" boxes.

MusicBee Wishlist / Album Art Exchange as source
« on: November 02, 2011, 12:44:50 AM »
My #1 favorite website for high quality album art is AlbumArtExchange.com. I was hoping to see the site implemented into MusicBee as an available source for tagging album art like Amazon, Discogs, google, etc. are used now.

I know that the site doesn't have an available API, but it seems to have a search feature which could be treated similarly to how Google is currently in the auto-tagger. The only problem I can see is that it requires a login to the site's forum to continue using the site without having to enter capcha codes every x amount of times you click on an image.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding the request. Thanks for taking a look!

MusicBee Wishlist / Different Artwork Sizes (embedded vs. folder.jpg)
« on: November 01, 2011, 11:39:01 PM »
Currently, I use MusicBee to tag my files with album art using the "Album Auto-Tagger". I have my settings configured so the minimum image size is 500x500 pixels. I save the best available image for the album artwork as folder.jpg as allowed by the artwork popup window within the auto-tagger, but also embed the image into the music files.

What I would like to see implemented is this: have MusicBee resize an image obtained from either...

1. one of the current artwork sources (i.e. Amazon, discogs, google)
2. a user inputted image (i.e. right click, paste)

...if the image is larger than 1000x1000, to 500x500, but still save a copy of the original image as the folder.jpg and have the 500x500 size embedded into the files. The option should only be available if the original image is less than or equal to 25% of perfectly square. For example, 1100x1100 is fine, but anything higher than 1100x1375 or lower than 1100x825 would look too augmented/forced if resized to a 500x500 image. I'm sure there's an equation that could suit this scenario, but I don't have the know-how, obviously...

I hope this was clear enough.

Please feel free to correct me or ask questions if you have them. Thanks for taking a look!

MusicBee Wishlist / Use Beatport for Auto-tagging
« on: September 27, 2011, 09:46:41 PM »
Dear developers :)

First of all, I'd like to say that MusicBee is by far my FAVORITE music player.

Now, with that out of the way I'd like to add a suggestion that I think a lot of people would appreciate:
the ability to use Beatport.com as a source for auto-tagging tracks

How awesome would that be?

Here's an example of a website that currently draws from beatport's releases: http://yadg.cc/
The site gathers information from the release url you provide, then formats the artist, album, track name, etc so that you can post it onto an forum and have it look nice and neat. I'm sure there's something that could work along those lines and be implemented into MusicBee just like MusicBrainz and Discogs are currently. This would be so very helpful in tagging songs which have mismatched tags, but aren't on MusicBrainz or Discogs.

Let me know what you think!

Cheers,
Alan
