It's stored in the database.  Be sure you set the Album Artwork Retrieval Filter to do what you want to do, then hit the "Rescan Artwork" button at the bottom.

Fantastic - thank you!

Hi,

I have some tracks that already have artwork embedded in them, and what I'd like to is to select a new primary picture using a .jpg stored in the album folder but without changing the files themselves.

If I add a 2nd image (for example, a higher resolution album cover), and then change which image is selected as "primary picture", is that metadata written to the music file or is it stored in the MusicBee database? Thanks in advance!

In Settings, I had it continuously monitor my main Music folder and to add files to inbox. Once in a while, I'll fix metadata for files that are already in the library and already in the main Music folder and then get MusicBee to re-organize them. Maybe MusicBee sees those re-organized files as "new"? I don't know - most of the files that were in the inbox were no longer in their original locations.

I have a single, separate folder where I place files to be added, and add them manually from there so I never use the inbox.

Hi tjinc,

Thank you! The computer node workaround solves the problem - should I report the bug?

And thank you for explaining how the inbox works. I don't actually ever use that feature - I saw that it's part of the folder monitoring workflow so I just turned it off.

Hi all - two questions:

1) If I'm viewing content inside a folder (bottom left) and then I click on the main "Music" navigation tab (upper left), nothing changes in the main view in the middle until I click on another navigation tab or playlist and then click back to "Music" - then it refreshes. All the other navigation tabs and playlists behave as I'd expect - you click on them from anywhere and the main panel refreshes to show the new view - it's just the "Music" tab that doesn't do this.

2) I've removed "Inbox" from Layout preferences but it's still there, even after restarting MusicBee:

Thank you in advance!

Plugins / Re: Musicbee Chromecast Plugin
« on: February 27, 2021, 12:49:43 AM »
One tip I will share is that I had to turn on file/printer sharing (which I had turned off a long time ago):
Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings

I have the same issue. Everything connected and MB, the artist name and song name shows up on my tv screen, but no sound. Unfortunately it didn't solve the problem by activating the file/printer sharing.

Any more tips?

I noticed that the rule that is now automatically created is for incoming traffic. Is that correct? I thought the rule would be for outgoing trafic. I created a similar rule for outgoing, but no results.

I had everything working before, but had to do a reinstallation of the OS on my laptop.

For what it's worth, all I was getting was the word Musicbee in a large font on my TV – I wasn't getting any info about tracks or artists until I turned the file sharing on.

Hi - I wanted to thank you for this plugin! It's made Musicbee so much more useful now that I can play music from my PC to anywhere in the apartment.

One tip I will share is that I had to turn on file/printer sharing (which I had turned off a long time ago):

Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings

Before turning that on, the webserver was running and connecting to the CC but I wasn't getting any sound and couldn't see the files from my phone's browser. It all works now.

Question though: I don't seem to be able to seek inside the currently playing track (that is, move the playhead to a different part of the track) - is that a limitation of the plugin?

Questions / Re: Combining ANDs & ORs in a single auto-playlist

Ah, sub-rules was exactly what I was looking for but I didn't know the musicbee term for it - thank you!

Of course auto playlists support and ("All of the following criteria") and or ("Any of the following criteria") together. Click the [...] icon next to your criterion to set sub criteria.

Questions / Combining ANDs & ORs in a single auto-playlist
« on: February 22, 2021, 06:32:52 PM »
I'm trying to create a playlist that surfaces records I'm not as familiar with, and these are the criteria I want:

Year > 2010
OR
Year <2000 (because I have way too much music that was published between 2000 and 2010)

AND
Not Beatles (because I have way too much Beatles) 🙂

A regular auto-playlist doesn't seem to allow ANDs and ORs, and while I can create two playlists I don't see how to use the playlist mixer to create an intersection set rather than a superset of those two playlists. I've searched this forum but wasn't able to find an answer.

Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!

Hi - re-opening this old thread - I am looking to do this exact same thing as well, and was wondering if there was any way to enable this functionality. Thanks!
