TheaterMode / Multi-Line Tag Values
« on: May 24, 2016, 03:42:01 PM »
- Is it possible to display a multi-line tag, such as Comment? Currently I can only get a single line to display and it gets cut off.
- If it is possible, can the element below it be anchored to it in such a way that the element's location on the y-axis is dependant on the number of lines used (in the multi-line tag)?

Questions / Highlight Icon Color
« on: May 24, 2016, 02:19:14 PM »
Is there any way to change the color of the  icons used for tag highlights. The color only seems to work with the text highlight function and not the icon. Is there an override element available for skins (as with the command buttons)?

Questions / Tag for EQ Presets
« on: May 23, 2016, 09:04:09 PM »
Hi folks. I want to create a highlight/icon for tracks with an EQ Preset. Is there a way to have the tag created when the preset is selected in the track's settings? Or do I need to enter that info into a custom tag manually after any time that I change the preset?

MusicBee Wishlist / Album Information Panel
« on: May 20, 2016, 06:23:25 PM »
I realize this would be a lot of work to accomplish, but it's something I know I'd love to see as a part of MusicBee. So I figured what the hell, I might as well just throw the idea out there. Of course it's very possible it's been mentioned before.

I'd love to have some sort of Album Information Panel. So by clicking on an album, this page would be displayed. It could have all the info you'd ever want about an album. Mainly I'd like it to display tags, custom tags and artwork, but it'd be possible to show many other elements as well, like similar artists and external/internal links etc... IMO the possiblities are endless and could result in a great looking and extremely functional display/panel.

The main idea here is that most areas in MB are meant to display a summary of info, so this would be a place for all your more detailed/expanded info. I guess it's a kind of replacement for opening up an album/cd.  It could also be a great place for editing tags in 1 comprehensive location. This is an extremely rough idea of what I was thinking (not meant to be a physical template at all, but just to convey the general idea):

I still havn't found a solution to this problem. I've tried pasting from the clipboard and selecting "choose artwork" in the artwork downloader. The file always gets stored to its respective folder (Artist Pictures\Thumb, and InternalCache\ArtistThumbs), but never displays in the thumbnail browser. I've tried clearing the cache also. Any ideas why this might be happening?

I wish there was a way to set-up Album&Tracks view similar to how it is in the Playing Tracks List. Currently in the main panel it's possible to display the fields right of the artwork, however there isn't a way to display all the tracks below it, as with the PTL:

As seen in the PTL:

MusicBee Wishlist / Safely Remove Device and Tab Behavior
« on: May 04, 2016, 12:51:21 PM »
When I plug in a device, MB recognizes it but doesn't open any new tabs. This is good because often I'm just charging it and don't need to open it in MB. However as soon as I "Safely Remove" the device, a new Music tab opens. *Note: This only occurs if the Music tab has been pinned. If there is an unpinned Music tab available, the device will use that tab and not create a new one. It's not a big deal to close the tab every time I eject the device, but it seems like odd behavior.

- It seems to me that a new tab should not be created when a device is ejected, or at least be automatically closed after removal is complete.
- Ideally, MB would allow linking a device to a specific tab (including a pinned tab). This way every time I opened the device, the tab would open with any views/settings customized for that device already in place. Basically I could create a tab, label it "iPod", pin it, and use it whenever I need to sync any ipod files.

Questions / Filtering Genres in Column Browser
« on: May 01, 2016, 04:52:04 PM »
I tend to use multiple values for genres. Is there a way to filter through them using the column browser? It seems you can't have the same field displayed for multiple columns. Is this possible or is there a work-around?
For example, let's say I select "ambient" as a genre in the column browser. I would like to be able to view all the other genre values for my ambient tracks. So I could for example filter: ambient ->electronic ->minimal -> drone.

MusicBee Wishlist / Move Radio Searchbar
« on: April 18, 2016, 05:09:26 PM »
Currently the searchbar in the Radio panel overlaps the station categories. This makes it impossible to select a category if it's behind the searchbar. Maybe display the categories beneath the searchbar? Or, provide a way to close the searchbar.

EDIT: I'm not sure how to reproduce this. It seems to be working fine now.

MusicBee Wishlist / Playing Tracks List Display for Radio tracks
« on: April 18, 2016, 03:55:50 PM »
For Radio... would it be possible to display the artist and title in the Playing Tracks List? Currently the title/artists are displayed in the Track Info, but I have placed that element in the right main panel, which can't be displayed in the Radio panel. The PTL displays the station as the title, with everything else as unkown. To me it would make sense to display the station name as the album (consistant with the Track Info), and then display the title and artist accordingly in the PTL.

MusicBee Wishlist / Adjust view selection list for playlists
« on: April 15, 2016, 04:36:33 PM »
I find that this list is too narrow and in some cases I can't tell which view I'm selecting. Would it be possible to widen it a bit, or maybe provide a mouse-over pop-up that displays all of the text?

MusicBee Wishlist / Auto-Playlist Features.
« on: April 14, 2016, 09:36:41 PM »
It would greatly expand the usefulness of auto-playlists if it was possible to "batch" rules. For example:

1. Rating is at least 4 stars
2. Artist is 'Artist A'
3. Artist is 'Artist B'
4. Artist is 'Artist C'

Using these rules I can create a playlist of top tracks from these 3 artists. But what if I want a different rule for 1 or more of the artists? Perhaps I want only 5 star tracks from 'Artist C'. Creating "batches/groups/stacks" of rules would allow for this:

1. Rating is at least 4 stars  [ 1 ]
2. Artist is 'Artist A'             [ 1 ]
3. Artist is 'Artist B'             [ 1 ]
4. Rating is at least 5 stars  [ 2 ]
5. Artist is 'Artist C'             [ 2 ]

I really think this feature would add a lot of value for those of us who create a lot of auto-playlists. With the current limitations, I often just end up searching for tracks and adding them manually, which isn't terrible, but not ideal. Please consider, thanks. :)

Questions / How do I view the thumbnail browser by "Display Artist"?
« on: April 12, 2016, 06:09:36 PM »
I have tried creating a custom tag, but that doesn't work.  If an artist contains a DISPLAY ARTIST tag created when using the multiple artist splitter (in the tag editor), it doesn't show up. An artist will only be displayed if a custom tag is created seperately, using the tag inspector or editor to create the DISPLAY ARTIST tag. This is very confusing because both tags are displayed exactly the same in the tag inspector as TXXX/DISPLAY ARTIST.

Questions / Virtual Tag Question
« on: April 11, 2016, 10:56:08 PM »
I want to create a virtual tag something like this:

$If(<Tag A>=HAS ANY VALUE,<Tag A>,<Tag B>)

Basically I want the tag to display <Tag B> unless <Tag A> has a value. I don't know how to write the HAS ANY VALUE part. I checked the Functions section in wiki, but it only describes using specific values.

I feel this would be much better as it prevents groups of tracks from being cut short and added to the next column.

This is how it's displayed in iTunes. Each subgroup (Disc#) is displayed across both columns:

This is the same audiobook in MB:

It's not too big of a deal for albums with less tracks. However with audiobooks and albums containing many tracks, it's not ideal to have them divided this way.
