Questions / different layouts of album info in "Music" tab?
« on: January 06, 2024, 10:15:39 PM »
I just can figure out why some album info displays in two columns and some in just one.
I'd really like all albums to display in two columns.
Any ideas?

Two columns

One column

I think I fixed it by applying the date I want using tagscanner, seems to hold now

the "year" field when I right-click on an album, and then "edit"

Questions / why does musicbee keep messing with my album dates?
« on: November 04, 2023, 10:47:58 PM »
I like to sequentially put album dates by their occurrence in the year.

i.e. the first album of 2023 for an artist gets entered as 2023.1, the second as 2023.2 and so on.

As soon as an album gets played, musicbee "corrects" the date to "2023-01-01"

How do  I stop this?

Questions / embedded album artwork
« on: April 02, 2020, 08:18:26 PM »
Can Musicbee find all my albums (mp3) that don't have embedded artwork?
I don't need Musicbee embed the artwork in bulk, I'll do that manually, I am just hoping that Musicbee can show me which files I need to update.

I'd really like to see all album covers on my car stereo.

Questions / Re: Recently Added Playlist
« on: May 03, 2016, 10:39:29 PM »
As beeing good suggested:

· Create a new playlist. Use the rule: 'date added' 'is after' 25/10/11' to give you a backlog of two months.

· Click on the playlist so the tracks are listed in the main pane.

· Add the 'date added' column (and whatever other columns you want) by right-clicking the column bar.

· Click 'date added' column to sort the newest to the top. The columns and sorting are specific to each auto-playlist, which is
a FANTASTIC feature. It means that the playlist you just set-up won't affect the display of any of the others. Remember, you
can use the 'new folder' option to organise your playlists into collapsible groups.

· You can use multiple-highlighting and 'right-click -> remove' to remove tracks from the list. Be careful though, because
once they're removed I don't think you can easily get them back onto the list (yes, you can - see post below). Alternatively,
you can edit the rule and move the date forward in time every so often.

Nice!, Now I can have a playlist of all the music that I have added in the current year. Love this music player.

What version of MusicBee are you using.
I am using the latest (2.4.5404) and it works for me.

My "preferences" box looks a little different than yours I noticed.

Questions / Re: Drag and drop to add new files
« on: September 02, 2015, 06:42:47 PM »
I really am a moron.. the files I was trying to drag and drop were already in my inbox

One of the MusicBee "preferences" for "Library" is to add new files to library instead of inbox.
Adding to inbox is the default.

I have had this happen a few times, I had to shut down MusicBee and then restart it, and it worked again.

Questions / Re: Composer Tags not being Auto-Tagged

OK, new question.
Has anyone ever used the MusicBee "auto-tag" feature and had the composer tags update?
Maybe it's not possible.

Questions / Composer Tags not being Auto-Tagged
« on: August 28, 2015, 06:09:53 PM »
Hello, love this software. The speed is amazing.

I'm wondering if I have missed something about auto-tagging albums.
I just cant get any "composer" info to update for any albums.

I have had to go back to windows media player to get this done (gasp).

Any ideas?
