Bug Reports / Re: Unable to Load Preferences and Other Errors
« on: August 16, 2017, 06:04:56 PM »
After briefly reverting to the "unable to initialize" state last evening, MB is working perfectly today. No idea why it broke or why it's working now. I'm using stock hardware with a Bluetooth speaker which I could not get to connect last evening but is working now. Seems I've got some kind of system gremlin. Thanks for the help everyone.

I am running Windows 10 on an HP Pavilion desktop. I'm happy to provide any additional details that might help.

Strangely enough, for unknown reasons, Musicbee's behavior has now changed dramatically. Musicbee now opens without error and I seem to be able to rip from CD properly. The "only" remaining problem I see: songs won't play. I click on a song and the tiny speaker icon appears next to it and the play arrow toggles to the pause button, but that's it - no sound and no incrementing/decrementing of play time / time remaining.

I hope I can get this straightened out. I've run Musicbee with no problems for a long time and dread having to learn a new organizer.

Tried installing the latest update. Now on initialization I get the error "Unable to initialise the music player. No soundcard detected (error=BASS_ERROR_DRIVER).

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and now get the same error. Any help with this forthcoming? Am I posting in the correct location?

Bug Reports / Unable to Load Preferences and Other Errors
« on: July 27, 2017, 03:44:46 AM »
On startup I get a message that Musicbee can't load my preferences and has recovered my last backup.

When I try to play a song I get an error "Unable to open file (error=BASS_UNIT_INIT)".

When I try to rip tracks from a CD error "Not all tracks successfully verified - you can encode the failed tracks by clicking the 'Encode Selected' button". When I click "OK" and "Encode Selected" it ejects my CD.

Thanks for any assistance.

Questions / Re: File Organiser Issue/Error

Does it make sense to try re-installing Musicbee? I can't think of any other option to fix this.

Questions / File Organiser Issue/Error
« on: November 22, 2015, 03:35:56 PM »
I have been using the file organiser without problem - until yesterday, when it suddenly went haywire for what reason I haven't been able to figure out. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I rip a CD into the inbox, and adjust the tags as I want them. They all seem fine and unremarkable, and none of them are missing.

I then select the six (in this case) tunes in the inbox that I just ripped and press <cntl>r to open the file organiser and organize the files based on tags: <Album Artist>\<Album>\<Disc-Track#> <Title>

The file organiser displays just the first tune, and under status it says "missing tags: Title". Under "new filename" for title it substitutes "Unknown Title". However, as noted above, the tune title is in fact present in the previous screen's list of tunes.

Any idea what's going on?

Questions / Re: Confused by Sandisk Syncing
« on: May 27, 2015, 05:05:44 AM »
In case anyone else comes along with the same question - I got reasonably close to my goal by creating two playlists, one for my internal Sansa Clip storage and one for external. It's a little clunky because I need to sync in two steps, changing the sync settings between each, but not too bad since I can at least maintain the separate lists of items to sync in the two playlists.

OK, thanks.

I'm really enjoying Musicbee.

Questions / Confused by Sandisk Syncing
« on: May 25, 2015, 02:52:43 AM »
Confused noobie here... I'm trying to sync a subset of my Musicbee tunes to my Sansa Clip+ with external card. I'd be happy if Musicbee handled the internal and external storage automatically, but it looks like that's not the way it works.

My internal and external storage are recognized separately by Musicbee, so I can select either in a dropdown list in preferences -> devices -> device settings. I would expect that I would use auto-sync settings to create one list of folders to sync on the internal storage and one list to sync on the external storage, but I can't seem to get that to work.

I seem to be able to create only one list and apply it to EITHER the internal or external storage so that I would have to constantly recreate my folder lists to sync both internal and external. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance for your help.
