Questions / Deleting "first" artist picture
« on: June 23, 2017, 07:40:34 PM »
I have a minor problem with the "Now Playing" window

The background is set to retrieve web pictures and starts a rotation.

I have a large collection of the band "Sparks" but the first image that always shows is the singer "Jordin Sparks". When the image rotates to the second image I then get the chance to "Ban Picture" but all subsequent images appear to be correct.

How to I "Ban Picture" the first image?

Is it possible to change the row height in the main window without changing font size?

Questions / Getting rid of wrong picture
« on: September 18, 2016, 03:25:01 PM »
Can you prevent a picture being displayed in the Now Playing window?

I like the band Sparks but every time one their records comes on the first picture shown is of Jordin Sparks.

Every subsequent picture is of the proper Sparks and for those I get the option to Ban Picture but not on the first incorrect one.

It is not the Artist Picture as the thumbnail browser shows the correct Sparks

Apologies but not quite sure what you mean by "the 2nd screenshot would only happen for the very first track you play (if not then let me know)"

Hopefully you mean this..

I revisited and did the same experiment as above and the rating was greyed out as before, next track played the rating showed a "bomb" when rated. Is this what you were expecting?

Thank you for your response

Maybe I didn't explain fully

I have two Musicbee installations, on my desktop PC and on my laptop. Both were running 3.0.6014

On both of these I have an auto-playlist that, amongst others, picks up a selection tracks that have not been rated yet. Any non rated tracks that have been played twice are then picked up by a further playlist to remind me they have been played but not yet rated.

As such I rate tracks on an almost daily basis.

I do not normally routinely apply patches unless there has been a problem I've noticed, if it's not broke don't fix it was what I was always told.

Yesterday I decided as I had not patch Musicbee for a while so maybe I should so did this for the laptop which is now running 3.0.6104.

This was when I noted almost immediately that it was not accepting the a new rating on the right panel. On further experimenting I have noticed that the "bomb" only appears on the Now Playing window, on the normal Main window the rating stays greyed out.

This shows an unrated track

This shows the track as rated in the Main window but rating not showing on right panel

This shows same track in Now Playing window with the "bomb"

I realise it maybe caused by missing a few patches in between but dont fancy doing a re-install from scratch

Bug Reports / [Fixed] Rating error on side bar
« on: September 18, 2016, 01:08:40 AM »
I have set the right side bar up to show various information one of which is track rating.

If the track has no rating it shows the 5 stars as greyed out as expected.

If I then rate it the correct rating shows in the main window, also in the edit properties of the song but the right side bar shows the "bomb" symbol regardless of the rating I give it

Bug Reports / Now playing background update
« on: June 19, 2016, 11:12:57 PM »
Not really a bug I guess, more an observation

When playing tracks from a Playlist and selecting Stop after Current on the playing controls I have noticed that, at the end of the playing track, in the Now Playing window the next track will be highlighted, the Track Information window will display the next track and the Album artwork will display the next track but the background picture shows the previous artist.

Not a major problem but thought I'd mention it

Have to 100% agree with that, love the program.

Can be confusing at times with all the various options and a few bugs here and there but the support you get on here is second to none and bugs are fixed quite quickly.

Questions / Understanding lyrics
« on: June 13, 2016, 03:53:28 PM »
I have a track where the displayed lyrics are wrong

Going to Edit and looking at the Lyrics tab for that song it is empty so I presume lyrics are coming from an external source.

If I put my own lyrics in the tab will it overide the downloaded version or not?

Questions / Re: Simple Top 100 - not working?
« on: June 13, 2016, 08:11:56 AM »
That would I believe cause a low rated but high played song to be missed off. For example 100 5star songs played once for be above one 1star song played 10 times

I have gone with losing the 100 limit, this way I get a bigger list but can up the minimum PlayCount in future to keep it manageable

The main criteria is Play Count so a 1star song played 10 times would be higher than a 5star song played once.

I then wanted to use the rating just to sort songs of equal play count so a 5star song played 10 times would be above a 1 star song played 10 times.

The problem I have I beleive is too many songs on the same PlayCount (my Play Count was reset after last upgrade)

So what I think I have is 200+ songs with a PlayCount of 1, the playlist just picks 100 of these and then sorts them in most played order. What I would like is it too pick the 100 most played and then highest rated. I can sort the main window this way but if the Playlist hasnt picked up a song as one of the 100 its not going to get shown.

Bug Reports / Re: Auto Playlist no longer updating "live"

Yes it was based on Last Played field

That patch fixed it, thank you

It does now remove an item from my error list as it use to in the past.

What it doesn't do is "live" update the Recently Played list. I think it use to but might be mistaken

Questions / Simple Top 100 - not working?
« on: June 11, 2016, 02:16:52 PM »
I have a simple playlist that in theory just gives me a Top 100 most played

The filter on it just says Play Count - has a value ( I've also tried Play Count - is greater than 0)

Limit to 100 items - selected by most often played

I then have my main window Sorted as Play Count - Rating - Last Played

I hoped this would work but some highly rated songs are not making this list even when having the same plays as low rated songs and played more recently.

I guess this is down to the original rule which takes no account of rating or last play time so sorting the window after this makes no difference.

So how do I get the filter to pick the Most Often Played and Highest Rated out of those but still limit the number to 100?
