Hi Steven,

Unfortunately, MB crashes after playing a single dsf file with the latest bassasio.dll, 'Stream DSD data as PCM (DOP)' in ASIO player prefs.

Hi Steven,

I'll try the new version of bassasio tomorrow, but to answer your original question:
Yes, if I select 'Convert to PCM' on asio player prefs, I can play as many *.dsf files as I want without issues.  When I select the 'DOP' option, that's when I can only play 1 dsd file before MB crashes...

Hi Steven,

First of all, I'm not sure what settings I had that caused DSD files to be sent as PCM to my DAC, but that problem is now resolved.

However, I'm still seeing MB crash after playing the first *.dsf file (with another *.dsf file next in the playlist)

Bug Reports / Re: MusicBee auto closes at the end of a DSD song
« on: October 30, 2019, 05:31:41 PM »
I tried the MusicBeeDSDCrash version above:

version: 3.3.7241 P

bassasio.dll: 1.4.0.0

output: ASIO

DSD file playback: Stream DSD data as PCM (DOP)

I have a DSD album selected, MB crashed after playing 1st track

Error log (only 2 lines for this test):

10/30/2019 12:01:18 PM - Stop1=True
10/30/2019 12:04:23 PM - Reset5

I noticed some strange behavior - MB appears to be sending the *.dsf file as 88.2kHz PCM (at least that's what my DAC indicates), and the track information in the right main panel seems to support this (look at 2nd line from bottom starting with 'DSD128'):

However, about 3 -4 seconds before the end of the track, the track information shown changes (again, look at 2nd line from bottom):

Foobar plays the same file to the same DAC as DSD128 (as received by the DAC)

Let me know if I can provide any additional information.

I realize that this plugin is still in its initial stages, but you'll probably want to include a mb_AddonUpdater.meta file in a future release  :P

Hi Steven,

YES, that's exactly how I was having problems (double-clicking on a file with a different sample rate).  When I previously reported that it worked fine, it was playing to completion and going on to the next file in my 'sample test' playlist, which has alternating 44.1/48khz sample rates.

You're the best!  8)

25
Hi Steven,

I can confirm that ver 3.2.6611 fixes my problem (MB stops when trying to play different sample rate with ASIO)

Thanks for the speedy fix  :D

26
Hi,

I've noticed this problem also, and have been able to narrow down what causes the problem (at least for me):

ver 3.2.6608:
have a playlist with files that have different base sample rates (44.1, 48).  Musicbee will stop when the next file in the playlist has a different base sample rate than the previously played file.

Note, I do *NOT* see any CPU spikes or hear any distortion in the files being played, it just stops when it asked to play a file of different sample rate.  I can manually start Musicbee after this stoppage, and it will continue until the next file with a different (base) sample rate.

Musicbee sends the correct sample rate to my DAC (LHLabs Geekout 450) - I've tested from 44.1 to 352, but you can duplicate this if you just have a playlist with alternating 44.1 and 48khz sample rate files.

NOTE: this does *NOT* happen with ver 3.1.6608 !!!

Win 8.1, ASIO, spectrum visualizer, wavebar, VU meter enabled (I see the same phenomenon with VU/spectrum vis disabled, and also on a different Win10 pc)

Let me know if I can provide any additional details.

Questions / Re: Cataloging and playing DSD files
« on: December 12, 2017, 04:49:19 PM »
I just want to report that Musicbee version 3.2 (3.2.6555) *DOES* send DSD over PCM (DOP) files that *are* recognized as DSD files by my DAC (LH Labs Geek Out), both DSD64 and DSD128.

Thanks Steven!!  :D
