General Discussions / Re: GUI changes for v3.0
« on: February 17, 2016, 03:09:51 PM »
When I try to rip a CD in 5889, I see the following error which MB "asked me" to report:

MusicBee v3.0.5889.40450 (Win10.0), 17 Feb 2016 16:08:

System.NullReferenceException: Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt.

Questions / Re: Highlight rule Sample Rate seems not to work
« on: January 28, 2016, 05:52:58 PM »
That works, awesome!
Sorry - I did not think of that because the properties window shows it as kHz.
I assume it is the same with the bit rate?

Questions / Highlight rule Sample Rate seems not to work
« on: January 28, 2016, 05:16:26 PM »
I tried creating a highlight rule in Prefs - Tags (2) "Sample Rate is greater than 95" to colour all tracks who have a sample rate of 96kHz or higher.
But MB3 colours _all_ tracks, even if they are 44.1 or 48kHz.
Is this a bug or is there something special I need to set?

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Display album count per artist
« on: January 27, 2016, 07:10:54 PM »
Resurrecting this from the dead because this feature is very dear to my heart.
I collect albums and honestly do not care how many tracks an album has. So I would like to see the number of albums rather than number of tracks for each genre/artist, etc...
Maybe this could be implemented for MB3?

MusicBee Wishlist / Album Count instead of track count
« on: January 26, 2016, 05:22:57 PM »
I would love to be able to show the album count per column instead of the track count in the column browser as well as the album list.
Currently any column can optionally show the number of tracks in it behind the name (for example how many tracks in the genre "Classical). It does not seem to be possible to isntead show the number of albums.
Could this maybe be implemented in MB3?

Skins / Re: A Sophisticated Bee

Great to see this skin is getting updates!
Is there a way to have both versions installed? I regularly switch between MusicBee 2 and 3.

Ok, thanks. So why is it then suggested that I try V3 if it does not help with the issue?
Just trying to understand if I should take the risk...
With the exception of this issue I am pretty happy with MB, so unless V3 brings something ttuly awesome to the table I'll probably wait until at least 3.1.

8
So is this issue not present in V3?
I tried V3 a while ago and it also happened there.

9
The behaviour is the same in V3 if I recall correctly.
I am very hesistant to use Alpha software, though...

10
Oh, ok...

Is there no way to fix this?
I need to have multiple databases for multiple projects and my whole work day consists of listening to tracks from one library while editing another.
If that does not work, that essentially cuts my productivity in half :(

11
I can reproduce this every time:
If an album is played from library A and the user is currently inside another library B, once any file played in library A ends, its play count is not updated. The next file in the queue is played, but the play count does not update.

This using MB 2.5.5690 on Windows 10 Pro 1511.

Skins / Re: A Sophisticated Bee

Sorry for resurrecting the dead, but I was wondering if this skin is officially dead?
It is the only skin I like in MB and I would be heartbroken to see it not compatible with version 3.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: CD name within multi-disk albums

Aah. I found out what it was: The tag names are localized! I need to use German tag names.

Wow - that is awesome!
I tried the instructions in the thread and when I use
$If(<Disc Count>>1,$IsNull(<Set Subtitle>,"• Disc "<Disc#>" •","• Disc "<Disc#>" • "<Set Subtitle>" •"),$IsNull(<Set Subtitle>,,"• "<Set Subtitle>" •"))
as a virtual tag, MB complains that "The virtual tag could not be analyzed". I copied it from the forum post, so I'm pretty sure there is no typo.
Also - maybe I'm dumb, but I can't find a place to set this "Set Subtitle" tag.

MusicBee Wishlist / CD name within multi-disk albums
« on: February 04, 2015, 03:56:35 PM »
I have quite a lot of albums with multiple CDs. Most of these CDs actually have their own disc name. Right now I enter this additional "sub album name" in the grouping tag. What would be awesome would be a way to show the individual CD name above the tracks of that CD within musicbee. See https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/104901/mb.JPG for a mockup.

In the example shown, the first 2 CDs are the original recording, CDs 3 and 4 are a re-recording, but they all belong to the same album. There currently is no place to enter this besides the grouping and there is no way to show it in the UI.

Another example might be (does not exists, just for showing what I mean)
"Disneyland Full Collection" (5 CDs).
CD1 Main Street USA
CD2 Adventureland
and so on.

Even though these discs all need to be in the same album, they each have their own disc name and it would be good to be able to show that name somewhere.
