v3.0.5865
I right-click on a playlist (auto or normal) and choose Send To | Folder (Copy) | Copy Files to Folder. The files are copied into the picked folder but they are prefixed with a 2 digit number and dash (##-).  Is there a setting for excluding the prefix?  Couldn't find a setting in Preferences.

If I choose Copy Files to Organised Folder I get the message "No selected files" though the main panel list of tracks changes according to the selected playlist.  This should proceed without having to manually select files right?

In Preferences | Plugins, if I click Configure button for theater mode, I get the message "Display a customisable theater mode view".  Same as MB2.5.  Is this intended or to be addressed later?

v3.0.5864
When MB is started, focus is on the sidebar player (in the right sidebar). If I press tab from there, it usually leads to left sidebar (navigator & Library Explorer) and Playing Tracks but not always consistent and seems to miss the Column Browser and Tracks panel.  If I Shift-tab, it usually finds the Column Browser but rarely does it get into the Files (Tracks) portion of the Main panel.  One time, after loading MB and focus starts on the sidebar player, pressing tab and Shift-tab never moved focus to anything else (just stayed on the sidebar player).

I usually want to get into the Tracks panel of the main panel on startup.  Is there a way to set the control/panel that receives initial focus when MB starts?

Handy for all and simplicity for new/infrequent users...

What about including Configure Layout below Preferences in the Edit menu.  And add an icon next to Configure Layout button that provides access to Preferences.

Also be consistent with tooltip (Configure Layout) and window caption (Panels Configuration)...maybe Customize Layout or something...just an OCD pet peeve.

One more..."Customize Toolbar" is tooltip on main window and inside Preferences | Layout(1) it says "command buttons - Customize Layout" and the window caption is "Set Toolbar Buttons".  It would be easier to find and realize these are the same things with consistent terminology.  For Layout(1), perhaps "Toolbar buttons - Customize Toolbar" or something.  I would reserve "Layout" for customizing panels.

btw, I like the tabs bar icons :)

v3.0.5841  Library Explorer is displayed in left sidebar. I can right-click on something in the Artist list and select Queue Next. But the item added to Playing Tracks is the currently selected item in the Main Panel, not based on the item in Library Explorer.  Is this intended behavior?

v3.0.5845  Using Library Explorer, if I select an artist or drill in to a single song and then right-click and pick Queue Next, everything in the Main Panel is queued into the Playing Tracks list.  My behavior expectation for adding to the queue is to get everything for the artist if I right-click the artist. If I right-click an album, just the songs on the album are queued.  And if I right-click a single track, just the one track is queued.  The same would apply for the other options in the context menu.  Depending on the intended purpose of the Library Explorer, perhaps the context menu should be removed and the list left for just browsing.

v3.0.5810
Playing Tracks panel in right sidebar | go into context menu | pick Set Displayed Fields - not able to remove the # column (Now Playing sequential counter). I think this was fixed and snuck back in.
that is fixed for the next update

yes it is

If I go into MB Panels Configuration and select "stack *" for panels in the right sidebar, nothing changes and if I exit and reenter MB the stack checkmarks are gone. Whether I choose "ticked elements are displayed as tabs" or "ticked elements are stacked on top of each other..." I don't see anything changing for this either. What am I missing?  (For instance, I thought I might be able to achieve something like having one panel holding 2 tabs-one for Track Info and the other tab for Lyrics-with one tab visible at a time.)  Is it user error?
based on your settings file you sent, only "Track Info" and "Lyrics" can be stacked and works fine for me using your settings but you need to tick both. If you are trying to do that with "Playing Tracks" then its not possible because there is no element immediately after it that can be stacked. Is that what you were trying to do?

I didn't realize both had to be checked but it does make sense now. And by doing so yes it works. thanks.

MB v3.0.5808
Playing Tracks panel in right sidebar | go into context menu | pick Set Displayed Fields - not able to remove the # column (Now Playing sequential counter). I think this was fixed and snuck back in.

Also located in the right sidebar (along with Playing Tracks) is sidebar player, Track Information and Lyrics panels (in that order). I don't show artwork in the Track Information panel so I'm trying to shrink its size to give more room for the other panels.  But it doesn't change size. I can grab the splitter above Lyrics or above sidebar player but neither has any effect on the size of Track Information panel. Is another splitter needed?

If I go into MB Panels Configuration and select "stack *" for panels in the right sidebar, nothing changes and if I exit and reenter MB the stack checkmarks are gone. Questions / ideas on 'preferences' for v3.0?
« on: November 24, 2015, 12:41:56 AM »
I agree this could use improvement, and I like your ideas.

Me too.

I've also seen a lot of apps are using a folder tree hierarchy (like in the left sidebar) for their preferences panels.

I think it doesn't have to be too rigorous. I find the current implementation is quite good already, it's just grown out of it's jacket a little bit.

+1

Layout along with Arrange Panels has a lot going on. Maybe it could be stripped out to have its own Layout window w/panels or tabs or tree. In fact the graphic images representing the relative position of each of the panels in the window is nothing short of brilliant. Since the Preferences | Layout (1) panel references these panels, I think it would be more helpful if the graphics were immediately visible with Layout (without having to click "Arrange Panels" button.  It's so much easier to understand the labels and choices with the clarification offered by the graphics.

But I agree that much of Preferences works very well as it exists.

On the left sidebar, if I click on a filter (under Music) and put it into edit mode and then click on another filter, the first one (filter name) remains in edit mode. :o If I do the same thing with playlists, the click on the 2nd playlist takes the first one out of edit mode which is the expected behavior. If I go from a filter already in edit mode and then click on a playlist, the filter name is taken out of edit mode (good).

confirmed...Edit of auto-playlist displays Ratings correctly now

I've got several auto-playlists that are filtered by Rating. The filter seems to work fine but Edit Auto-Playlist doesn't display the Rating stars properly.  It seems to show 3 stars no matter what.

Media files/library vs MB database?

I always want to know about relevant file locations (especially database) for backup purposes.  That's a big deal for users.

A wish for v3:
Allow displaying the 'stop' button in compact- and mini player.
I know some users seem to have some strange 'hate' for a stop button, but it is intrinsically a different function than pause.
But all you currently need to do is hold the 'shift' key down and the play/pause button displays as the stop button.

Thnx, I didn't know that.

Well if some of this is about attracting new MB users, everyone expects to see Play, Pause, Stop.  Play/Pause can certainly share the same button.  But pressing Shift isn't intuitive for new or experienced users. That isn't at all conventional.  Something so fundamentally basic, I would also favor what is expected by virtually all users and would be seen as an error of omission to new users...IMHO.
