Found an even simpler solution:

On my Marantz AV receiver, set front L and R speakers to small. Redirects stereo to 2.1 including sub.

Works for Spotify to.

Hi,

Found a solution using FlexASIO which does not run in exclusive mode. This gives me 2.1 in MusicBee.

Config:
Out 0 - LF
Out 1 - RF
Out 2 - None
Out 3 - LFE
Out 4 - None
Out 5 - None

I just ran a test and it did not work for me. I admit my sample set is not mainstream.

MediaMonkeys search is a lot looser and gives more results.

If I could add more screenshots I would. This forums no upload policy is a real pain!

Hi,

Been using MusicBee and MediaMonkey to update my tags and artwork. I the auto tag does not find the artwork I end up adding it manually. MediaMonkey has a killer feature for doing this in that it searches for you and saves a lot of time.

Here is the edit artwork dialog in MediaMonkey:

Hi,

I have a 5.1 channel audio setup. I wish to use MB to play using a 2.1 speaker config to keep the correct stereo mix. If I turn off the upmix setting then I have no output from my sub.

From my previous query I know you use the matrix method to do the up mixing in the Bass audio library.

I have played around with <PlayerUpmixChannelCount>6</PlayerUpmixChannelCount> in the settings but I unfortunately cannot get 2.1 (L + R + S).

For reference this is what I get:

0: L + R
1: L + R
2: L + R
3: L + R + C + S
4: L + R + S + RL + RL
5: L + R + C + S + RL + RL + S
6: L + R + C + S + RL + RL + S
7: L + R + C + S + RL + RL + S
8: L + R + C + S + RL + RL + S

Unfortunately L + R + S is missing.

I had another look at the matrix ref

but it uses a matrix to set the outputs and not a single number.

Can you please consider adding 2.1 or give me another solution I can try.

I did some research into the BASS audio library https://www.un4seen.com that MB uses.

There are two ways to do up mixing:

1. simple/efficient way to do that is to mirror the channels via BASS_ASIO_ChannelEnableMirror.
2. Using a Matrix. https://www.un4seen.com/doc/#bassmix/matrix.html

Both just mirror the channels with no audio manipulation.

Until I hear otherwise I am summing the audio is mirrored to the other channels and no audio manipulation takes place.

Hi,

I have a SoundBlaster Z (5.1 audio). I have 2 monitor type speakers and 3 surround type speakers and a sub connected. I wish to play stereo music via MusicBee. If I use MB in stereo mode my sub has no audio. This is a problem with the sound card as it does not have 2.1 audio.

To get audio out my sub I can set the sound card to 5.1 and use MB's "upmix stereo to 5.1" with the surround speakers switched off. This works and I effectively have 2.1 audio.

I want to know if the upmix setting changes the audio in any way?
Does it only route the audio to the other speakers?

On my setup it only saves if I hit preview first. I would in the past just press Start.

Windows 10 1709 16299.402

I have setup the filter and then selected Update. The "apply filter" is ticked.
I exit MB
I restart MB
The "apply filter" is no longer ticked.

This used to work on a previous version.

MusicBee Wishlist / Enhancement - Select All for selecting Playlists when synchronising

Could you please add a 'Select All' option when selecting playlists for 'Selected Playlists only' to be synchronized. I have 100's of playlists and it is a pain to select them individually.

Note that selecting the 'All Playlists' option does not allow you to deselect certain playlists.

I was a die hard Winamp fan (I started using it on Windows 98) and was very sad to see its demise.

I spent the best part of 6 months trying everything out there and MusicBee is the best.

"Just did a "Paste Artwork" and it worked. Looks like it is just the validation that is stopping it from working. "

Wow, super impressed with your response.

I have tested your patch and it works very well. I now have my Artist and Title info in my music library.

Since I started using MB a few days ago I have been adding artwork to all my tracks. When I try this with my AAC files I get the following error "Validation failed after attempt to save file - the changes have not been saved"

I also tried running MB as an administrator with the same result. My guess is that you are doing validation of the file which fails as its not a Mp3 file. I think this would work if the validation was skipped or modified to deal with Aac files.

Just noticed that when one of my AAC files is played in MB the Now Playing list Title has the Artist and Title in it. I guess it is showing the filename.

I would think that reading the ID3 tags should be fairly straight forward as this is what is happening for standard Mp3's. The files were generated with Streamripper.
