Questions / Can musicbee costantly scan his library?
« on: August 25, 2016, 12:15:04 AM »
Hi guys!
I have a NAS at home where I keep all my library.
On my main PC I have MB that will organize my library, and I'm really happy with it.
My problem is with my other PC: it would be great if MB could at least costanty scan his own library.
For example, if on my main PC I add a new song and delete an old one, I would like to see that MB on my other PC will detect this change ed automatically add the song to my library and at the same delete the old one.

It's possible to do that?

« on: August 13, 2016, 06:54:29 PM »
hi guys, There's a way to filter all the tracks that wasn't organized, maybe with missing tag?
I know that if go into settings->library->organize I can see that, but I can't edit those tags from there!
There a fast wayt o see all of them?

1) This will only happen if you have MB set to auto-organize, which you probably don't want to use if you're having two instance of MB share the files anyway.  Too much chance for confusion.

2) If one instance of MB deletes the file, then the other instance should recognize that it's missing and ask if you want to remove from the library.
1) But this way, I have to manually organize my library :(

Ansem, also you might want to share library file also on the nas.
This is what I meant, to have my library on the nas, and musicbee reading directly from there

This way I still have two problems:
1) After MB add a song to his library, it will move it, not copy. So I will have only 1 pc with the new song
2) If I  delete a song on my desktop, it won't delete in my notebook

« on: May 03, 2016, 10:20:35 PM »
Hi guys!
Soon I will buy a nas. I want to put all my library on my nas instead that keep it on my pcs.
So Both my notebook and desktop will look on the nas for my library.
The problem is: how do I set that musicbee need to search in the library for new songs? Like if I add a new song from my notebook, I want to see it on my desktop too.
Can please someone help me? :(

Hi!
I have a suggestion about the whishlist section:
Can you do something like I saw for microsoft? They did a list of the desired new features, and you can give them from 1 to 3 point, but you have only 10 points.
In this way, you can know which are the most desired feature and it's a lot more easy to read for the users too!
What you are asking for is uservoice, it is steven's decision if he wants use uservoice or not, i have no say on this unfortunately.
of course he doesn't have to listed to the uservoice, but at least there won't be anymore 10 threads with the same request :)

Bug Reports / Sync stop after deleting files
« on: December 24, 2015, 03:19:09 PM »
Hi guys.
I have a little problem with some synchronise my sony z3: I selected to sync my music into the micro sd.
The problem is that after that MB deleted the songs, it then don't update/load the news songs, and I have to restart it after a force close. After that it sync without problem because it doesn't have to delete any songs.

2) I don't think that is that hard to chang the paths to relative from absolute. even better, put the playlist into the library, so that they will be synced too.

Why would you want to change from relative to absolute?
because inside the library the path is always the same (author/album/song), but all the part before that can change between PCs, so if you want to sync playilist you with the library, you have to use relative

To be more detailed with my points:

1)The problem with syncing all music is that you are syncing ALL music. Never mind that my library can't fit in any consumer grade cloud storage apps, it will not be able to fit on my harddrive/ssd/sdcard. I always rip my CDs to FLAC but even if converted them to MP3, it would still not fit.

2)The second problem is with broken playlists. If you look at the stored playlists, they are absolute paths, not relative paths.
1) You really have more than 50GB of music with mp3/acc 320kbps?! (this is the best space you can get for free on cloud), or are you saying that you have even more than 1TB of music?
2) I don't think that is that hard to chang the paths to relative from absolute. even better, put the playlist into the library, so that they will be synced too.

Why not? The library will remain exactly the same on all PCs, Whats's the problem with the playlist?

Steven Where I can do request about a new feature for this new mb3? I would love to see a way to have sync library between PCs, and I want to suggest you a very easy way to do it :)
Steven is not adding any new features at this point.  What he's doing (and what he's done) is redesign the user interface.  Requested new features will come later.  I suggest putting your request in the Wishlist sub-forum.
A real pity, i hoped for a way to sync library between computers. I think that it should be really easy with cloud storage like mega!
I explained an easy way to do it in the wishlist topic

Yesterday night i was too tired, so i want to suggest here an easy way to sync computers:
-first of all you need a cloud storage, like mega, that will sync the folder with your music between PCs. I suggest mega because it give 50gb for free
- musicbee then need to scan the library folder searching for new/missing files, or updated one (tags, ratings)
-musicbee should also save the playlist into the library folder
- it would be useful a list with the latest 100 changes
