MusicBee Wishlist / Roku Channel
« on: September 25, 2016, 04:44:46 AM »
It would be cool if we could get a roku channel to play our musicbee library running on our musicbee media center pc on our network. perhaps there are some clever workarounds, but i cant really put my finger on how to tackle this situation

MusicBee Wishlist / multi select albums when in artist view
« on: August 12, 2016, 06:56:36 PM »
it would be cool, if while we were in artist/albumartist view, we can ctrl click the albums!   it seems its behavior as of now is, when you click the artist, you cannot ctrl click albums.   you can ctrl click multiple artists, so maybe im just doing this wrong.

i used a flash drive to dump files from my library, and this simple addition would save a few clicks and steps involved to transfer files, or even edit several albums at once when in artwork view.

3
When Im in artist view, and have the albums pop up underneath when i click on an artist, when i drag and drop an album unto my plugged in flash drive in the side navigator panel-  when the file completion completes, the main view closes the displayed artists albums, and scrolls somewhere randomly.

Is this behavior normal, or is it possible to leave the main library view and selected artist alone when the file completion is finished

it just makes copying files to a flash drive a big tedious pain because you have to keep searching where you left off, and where it decided to snap the view to.

also, when mouseover an opened artists albums, I see in the corner a left and right arrow to scroll left and right through the various albums.  however it would be extremely conveinient if we used the mousewheel when it was over the selection it scrolled, or even a hotkey to kind of "pageup/pagedown" through the albums without clicking on those small arrows

so, using a car radio with a usb port, ive been loading my flash drive with music.   The thing is, both my girlfriends, as well as my own car seem to organize the folders not  alphabetically,  but by modified date.

so if i copy some Quiet riot, than black sabbath, and then some metallica, when im scrolling thru on the radio, it will list them in that same order.

So i ask, if there can be an option to "touch" the folder in the side navigator where the usb drive would show up, and it will automatically go through all the subdirectories alphabetically, and "touch" them in order, so they are better organized?

i know its literally archaic how sony still develops these radios with a 150 folder limit, but also organizes it by modified date.

I really couldnt find a program out there that would touch the folders in alphabetical order for this sole purpose, thats why i post it here. I know many people can get some use if they use flash drives in the car.

Questions / auto playlist match vertical limit
« on: January 04, 2016, 06:35:51 PM »
hey guys, quick question,
im making an auto playlist with a list of artists so it contains all their songs, thing is, im using a 1440 vertical resolution, and after about 40 something artists i added in the "match following rules" i ran out of screen estate and cant add any more.   is there any way to exceed this limit other then getting a larger vertical resolution?   I thought musicbee would start adding columns next to one another, but the list keeps growing vertically and i can no longer manage the window since it exceeds the height of my monitor.

or perhaps there is some foolery i can perform to keep daisy chaining playlists together to deal with this limit?

It would be cool to see the Library link also support different fields like Year, Genre, Album Artist.

MusicBee Wishlist / Display all tracks in AlbumArtist if it contains Artist
« on: December 09, 2014, 07:45:36 PM »
Having a  large collection of my music "album artists" contain Various Artists, or Original soundtrack,  (like compilations, top 100s, etc) when im in the Album Artist Artwork view,  it would be cool if when i clicked on the "album artist" picture, the displayed tracks could in addition show the Album artist tracks, but also show the tracks if the Artist field contained the "album artist".

so with the hip hop artists, when I click for example, Eminem when in Album artist view, displayed tracks would show in addition to the "album artist" Eminem, it would display any tracks if the Artist field contained "Eminem".    so if he wasnt the album artist, he would still pop up.

Just to make it easier sifting through the Various Artist, Original Soundtrack Album artists.

Questions / Artwork View Album artist
« on: December 09, 2014, 05:17:36 PM »
Hey guys,

Quick question, i have the artwork displayed by Album Artist, when i click the album artist, the displayed tracks are naturally only displaying the Album artist.   Is there any way to actually display not only the highlighted album artist, but also the "artist" if any of the metadata in artist fuzzy matches the artist highlighted?

Like if i click album artist "Eminem", it will also display the songs for [artist: Eminem, 50 cent, D12] if its in the artist field?

Questions / keyboard multimedia keys dont work correctly
« on: December 03, 2014, 07:45:05 PM »
So i press the Next track on my keyboard, and if Musicbee is not in focus, it seems to work perfectly fine.   However if Musicbee is currently in focus, it will cycle between the first track highlighted in the library, and the first track listed in the now playing list.

is this intended behavior?

Questions / Clicking Track, Album, Artist, Always changes default view
« on: December 03, 2014, 07:37:55 PM »
excuse me as i try and ask a question about how the 2 options in the now playing list works "the Artist and album Link to : Library Filter or Last FM"   is there any way i can make the click to Library filter actually goto the track/artist/album in the main library view?  when i click, it seems to make the main library view ONLY the artist/track/album.   I just find it irritating always having to click the back arrow on the top left of the window. maybe there is a workaround, but ive been poking around in the options all over the place and cannot figure it out.

love musicbee doe'

MusicBee Wishlist / Mouse Wheel Scrolls Albums
« on: October 21, 2014, 01:05:05 AM »
Hey, one practice  that is very convenient that I find missing is this...

When you are sorted by artist, and you click the artist, there is a horizontal scrollbar that happens to appear if the amount of albums you have exceeds the width of the display... it seems you must click the left or right arrow nested in the display, but it would be really convenient if you were hovering over the albums and scrolled the mouse wheel, it scrolled left to right.

Just a quick suggestion
