Bug Reports / Re: Organize library files
« on: May 25, 2016, 09:32:12 PM »
First of all, thanks Steven for the reply.
Now, regarding the problem, the weird thing is that the software still seems working (ie. I can play the songs, clicking on them, so it seems the software CAN read the address).
BUT if I go in the preferences, and I try to (re)select the folder, I get that error.
PS: after your reply I tried to put \\NASQNAP\Multimedia as "on drive:" but the error is still the same. I feel real fear if I'll need to change that folder, in the future... :-/

are the files being added to an auto-organized library?
if so, MB should be ensuring the filename doesn't exceed the windows limits
Correct, I have an auto-organized library (side note, read about my other problem in the other topic).

Have clues about the "disappeared Log menu"?

Additional info: I partially solved the problem. While the path and the file names was quite short, the mp3 had lot of long tags inside. I removed the tags with MP3Tag software, and after then I did the File > Scan Folders for New Files operation.
This time, the operation went good, so I think the long tags were the problem. However, I'd still love to find that "disappeared" Log menu. Maybe in that log I could had find the solution with no wasted time.

Thanks again for the attention.

General Discussions / Re: GUI changes for v3.0

I'm just starting toying with the v3 version. If I can tell my preferences about, I'd say that the new buttons for Repeat / Repeat once, and for Shuffle on off, in the lower right part, are a little bit too abstract, not so intuitive.

PS: I love the new panel configuration, now I can have lyrics AND track informations both on the right part.

Bug Reports / Organize library files
« on: May 23, 2016, 10:47:03 AM »
I updated musicbee to v.3 (also patched with the latest zip version today).
Usually I keep my library and my music folder (auto organized by musicbee) in my NAS on my network. Until v2.5xxx I had no problem.
Now, if I go in Preferences > Library [v] Auto-organize media files > Organization
I see:
move: Music on drive: \\NASQNAP\ to folder: \\NASQNAP\Multimedia\musica\
The informations here are correct. If I click on [...] and I reselect the folder from the selection menu, I find no problems, I can browse the folder, then I click [Select], I get an error windows that says "Drive or network share '\\NASQNAP\' does not exist.

This is quite strange, I never got that error before.

Bug Reports / Scan folder for new file error
« on: May 23, 2016, 10:31:05 AM »
Hi!
After I installed the v.3 version, I get "errors during the scan files". The error window tells me to watch the Log in View>Error Log menu. But I can't find that menu, so I can't guess what is going wrong.
I patched it with the latest version today, still I have this issue.

Hallo everybody. I upgraded MusicBee, and I found that warning about the option removed. I loved that function. I selected the "musictemp" folder, then putting there all the new music, than I went into MusicBee and let it to scan that folder, and copy the new music in my "official" auto-organized folder. Never a problem. I had a good library, this way.
Then I'm here to ask: what I have to do to keep working in a similar way?
And, if I can't, what is the "new way"? Do I need to copy the new, non-organized files in my organized music folder, then go in MusicBee, and make a RESCAN, choosing the same folder for the scan function AND the "add to the library"?

Help me to understand this, I don't like to lose music files 'cause the software doesn't copy the files in my organized music folder...
