Hmm, seems that the function was achieved in MediaMonkey through a 3rd party script written for it, so it isn't a built in feature.

The alternative method I settled on using is:
1. Use Mp3tag to copy the tags of the original files in my library.
2. Then Mp3tag to paste tags to my replacement files.
3. Open MB and delete the original files from My Library and My Computer.
4. Last step is to Rescan/Add the new files into my library, Folder Reorganize them, and finally synchronize their play count with Last.FM (because Mp3tag doesn't copy the play count but MB works beautifully with Last.FM)

Certainly not a quick method but I only have 15-20 CDs to do it for, I can only pray for those with 100s or 1000s to do  :'(. But in the end it works because Mp3tag correctly preserves tags like Ratings and Guest Artists in the Multiple Artist Splitter and as far as I can tell the only tag not copied and pasted is the play count.

Hi, I would like to put in a feature request for a method to copy all the tags from one file and paste them over another.

I've updated my hard drive space and intend to replace my lower quality rips with larger, high quality rips, but I haven't seen a feature in MB to replace older files with newer ones or replace tags. I do remember that this feature was implemented in MediaMonkey by simply selecting all relevant files, copying tags from context menu, then selecting the (equal number of) replacement files and pasting the meta-data.

If the feature is implemented I'm hoping that it will:
1. Be able to intuitively apply tags to the correct files, like the ratings and play count to each corresponding file
2. Have the ability to choose which tags to copy and paste, and apply tags like album name or composer from one file to multiple files
3. Replace files that were copied with the files where the tags were pasted to
4. Be able to select which tags to copy and paste

I would love such a feature in MB, but in the meantime I wish to ask if someone can suggest an alternative method to accomplish this (aside from MediaMonkey b/c it messes up my MB tags).

Thanks for any help.
