Questions / Re: Output MB to Network DAC?
« on: August 16, 2014, 10:32:14 AM »
Reviving an old thread now.

First of all: A big thank you, avianmanor, for you detailed explanation! So glad to have found a solution to using MusicBee together with a network DAC.

There seems to be at least two different version of the Belkin F5L009 Network USB Hub (v1 and v2) out there. Which one did you use, avianmanor? Any chance you'd know if the version matters?

Did you ever try out the Silex SX-DS-4000U2? How did that work out, or have you found an even better solution?

I'm planing to get the ASUS RT-AC56U WiFi router which have two USB ports, one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0. I'm going to connect my NAS drive to the USB 3.0, but I was thinking that maybe I could plug my UPnP DAC straight to the router? We'll see how that works out.

MusicBee Wishlist / Hotkeys

Hi!

I use global hotkeys a lot, and I like that MB has a vast collection of user assigneble hotkeys.
I do though have some things I'd like to add/change.

First off, since the last update (1.2.3875 Beta) the "skip forward/back 10 seconds" hotkeys have got really laggy. The time bar moves right ahead in the player when I skip, but it takes about 1 second for the actuall sound to skip forward/back. Maybe not that big of a deal, but it's annoying me rather much.

Now on to things I'd like to see added/changed:
About the just mentioned "skip forward/back 10 seconds" hotkeys, I think 10 seconds is a too big leap. It would be nice to be able to give a user defined value, or just shorten it to 5 seconds.

Within the first 10 seconds of a song the "skip back 10 seconds" doesn't do anything. I think it should be better if it would go to the beginning of the song instead.

The hotkeys for "volume up/down" have a little too big impact in my opinion. Would be nice with a user defined value here too, or just decrease the amount it changes.

I'd like to see a hotkey for toggle the shuffle button on/off.

That's my two cents.
Thanks for a good player!
