Tips and Tricks / Re: A file renaming tip: Renamer
« on: May 24, 2022, 11:55:14 AM »
1. I tried PowerToys, and even though most of the features seem useful, I rarely used any of them. Total Commander is my desktop environment.

2-3. Your workflow is different.
The files in my inbox are ~never modified outside of Musicbee. They sit there, waiting until I prepare them for the library - set proper tags, artwork, replaygain. After that's done, I use File Reorganizer (ctrl+R) to move/rename them into "Genre/Album Artist/Y - Album/#. track" using a naming template.

This action also adds them to the library. Outside of Reorganizer "Add to library" is never used.

Same template can also be applied to the library files to fix nonconformities in folder structure.

Since OP was talking about "reorganizing the library" I assumed he didn't mean inbox.

What is the point of 3rd-party renamers when MusicBee has its own File Organizer?
Renaming / moving files outside of the player breaks library links.

What criteria does your mp3 player use to sort the files? Does is sort by Folders/Filenames or tags?

You're amazing, thanks. Works like a charm.
This has to be the fastest deployment of a bugfix in recorded history.

Bug Reports / MusicBee pulls incorrect scrobble count from last.fm
« on: February 10, 2022, 08:58:05 AM »
Problem: MusicBee pulls scrobble count of the whole album and sets it as play count for each of the album's tracks.
I've played each track once, for the total count of 4.

After the restart MusicBee pulls "4" for each of the tracks.

Played it some more, for the total of 7 scrobbles.

Restarted MB, it pulls new data from last.fm and each track now has Play count = 7.

Album in question:
https://www.last.fm/music/Ranges/AB+SA+RO+KA
https://ranges.bandcamp.com/album/ab-sa-ro-ka

I suppose Track/Album names have something to do with it.
I've had it happen with a few other songs, but can't remember which. It's a very rare issue, perhaps last.fm is to blame and not MB.

Questions / Re: Is there a way to set default to Sort By of playlists?
« on: February 10, 2022, 07:51:50 AM »
Set your sort order, save view settings to custom view, apply this custom view to other playlists.
When creating a new playlist, select it in "display using view" option.
Then, changes to sort order will propagate to all playlists that use the same view.
