Questions / Re: Sort within genre categories
« on: April 02, 2022, 05:30:21 AM »
I got it.
I set grouping to genre category and defined the custom sorting "genre category / artist / title". I tried it before with "artist / title" but when I define genre category first it doesn't destroy the groups.
Problem solved  :)

Questions / Sort within genre categories
« on: April 02, 2022, 03:58:08 AM »
I have an auto playlist with all songs rated 4 stars and higher. I use the track details view and group it by genre categories.
Within these categories I want to sort the songs by artist / title. When I try to sort it like this, the groups get messed up but when I click on Sort By -> "Group By" Order, the songs within the groups get sorted by album. How can I change this?

No, no, I don't mean the shape at all. You got me right in the first place.

Changing the text instead of the stars is a good idea. I changed it in the settings to semibold and it looks better. I still prefer it in normal style but overall it's better.

Unfortunately the screenshot is ok and it looks exactly like this in the player. And that's my point, I want them to look like the text. They are somehow bold as a standard. Changing the skin to a light one doesn't change the appearane of the album in the album view. This looks the same no matter the skin.

I can change the text settings here:

But these are not linked to the appearance of the stars. No matter what I change there the stars stay bold. That's why I think this needs to be solved somewhere deeper in the player settings, maybe in an ini file or so.

No, I'm not using any virtual tags.

Questions / Re: Change rating stars intensity in Album Covers PL

No, I don't think it is. Not in the album covers view.

I changed my skin (xml) to my likings (I learned a lot from your sample skin btw. Thank you very much for this!) but

Code
<element id="Panel.StarRating.Default" fg="Highlight2" fg2="65,65,65" />
<element id="Panel.StarRating.Highlight" fg="Highlight-Text" fg2="Secondary-Text" />
<element id="Panel.StarRating.Lowlight" fg="Highlight2" fg2="65,65,65" />

doesn't work with the album covers view. It gets the colors from the cover. I love this and don't want to change it at all. I just want to change the style of the stars from "bold" to "normal".

Questions / Change rating stars intensity in Album Covers view

Hi,

is it possible to change the intensity of the rating stars in the album covers view?
Right now I have this:

I find the stars quite dominant because they are bold like the album and disc#.
I'd rather have them in normal style like the album artist and track info. I can't style them in the *.xml and I looked into the settings.ini. I thought maybe there is something like <ratingStarsStyle>bold</ratingStarsStyle> but I didn't see anything.

Is it possible to change this somehow?

MusicBee Wishlist / Locate playing track at source highlights track
« on: August 23, 2021, 11:18:30 PM »
I really like the "locate playing track at source" feature. But at my age my eyes aren't what they used to be and I have problems to locate the little speaker symbol. So I wanted to use "highlight playing track in the main panel" with the "select track" option in my album covers playlists. The problem for me is that I like to browse my music while listening and as soon as the track changes it gets the focus and the view jumps to it.
I don't like that at all. I searched the forums and it turned out that this jump is something you guys seem to like and want so I guess it works as it should and a change isn't happening. :)

 So I'd like the "locate playing track at source" feature to highlight the track.

MusicBee Wishlist / Manually sort playlists in album cover view
« on: August 23, 2021, 09:47:15 PM »
I'd like to be able to manually sort the albums in a playlist while I'm in the album cover view.
Some of my playlist are quite large and it is a pain to switch to tracks view, select all the songs and drag them up for half a minute. Especially if my finger slips off the mouse button ;) It would be much easier if I could drag & drop the albums wherever I want them.

I like it but if it reduces the speed of MB I don't want it ;)
I'd prefer the image not to be blurred and instead have a transparent black overlay over it so that you can read the text.

Indeed it does, thanks.

But still not working in "Album covers" view.
Does this mean the problem isn't on my end and it just doesn't work in this view?

Yes, neither "Album covers" nor "Album and Tracks" work. I can only sort in tracks view.

Questions / Manually sorting playlist in album view
« on: August 16, 2021, 03:50:28 PM »
Hi,

I'm new to Musicbee, just switched from Foobar. I really like it and I think my music has found a new home.

I'm in the process of rebuilding my playlists from scratch and there is one super annoying thing I can't get around. I'm not able to sort the playlist when I'm in album view. I created a static playlist, choose display using view = albums, checked "custom fields for this playlist only" and sorting = manual order. But I still can't drag and drop my albums in the playlist.
When I change to track view I can sort it. But then I have to select all songs of the album and push them up which isn't something I want to do for very large playlists..

What am I doing wrong?
