Skins / Re: Metro Skins

Because it's a bitmap skin, the background is being supplied by either Background.png or Background2.png in the Images folder.
You have to supply a new png, in the colour you want, to change the background.

Aahhhh, thank you! I knew I was having a little bit of a silly moment, but for the life of me, I couldn't work it out.

Thanks again! :)

Sorry to bump an old (but still beautiful) skin.

I'm currently trying to update it a little, and add a little more colour. I have the source files, and I am trying to change the colour of the player:

I have tried changing all of the values in this section of the .xml file, but I don't know if I am being particularly dense or what, but I cannot, for the life of me, change that background (34,34,34).

Questions / Re: Inbox displays number: 6233, yet it is empty
« on: May 14, 2017, 01:39:16 AM »
Thanks Steven, I had the same error only mine was showing 22000+ on my inbox count.

Incidentally, this occurred after a fresh install on a new laptop on Wednesday, and the MusicBee version I downloaded from the front page wasn't v3.1.

So I re-downloaded Black Player (I was using it originally before GMMP) and I figured either I missed a setting or something because mine never handled multiple tags. Whilst I will admit that my genre view is slightly improved over GMMP, I've still got a lot of this:

Also, I looked into the genre tags themselves because I noticed that a lot of songs weren't showing up under another genre that I know that they are tagged in "drum & bass; liquid drum & bass" and found that Black Music Player had simply 'read' the first genre in the tag and disregarded or removed the others from the tag viewer.

So, what I am looking for is a music player that can read and sort multiple tags (So split 'Drum & Bass; Liquid Drum & Bass;' into the two separate genres they are), and where a song has multiple genre tags to display it under each genre. Does this exist within any app?

Out of interest, has anyone found a music player on Android which handles/reads multiple genre tags (in the format that Musicbee uses - "genre a; genre b"), other than MediaMonkey?

I say other than MediaMonkey because whilst it displayed the genres how I wanted, I just couldn't get past the overall UI and found the colours and design to be rather clunky.

I'm currently using GMMP, and whilst it looks beautiful (and sorts by album artist!) it really doesn't handle the genre tag very well (and sometimes removes the ';' separating the genre tags altogether:

Thanks. :)

(sorry for the large image sizes)

Can I be cheeky and ask if it would at all be possible for you to post the light version you posted screen shots of in the Concepts thread? That is beautiful and I ? light themes.
Working on it, but I'm not sure about the color layout yet.

Maybe one of these:

Ohhh, number 5 is very similar to 2.5 version of theme (which I currently use and love). So that would obviously be a good choice, although I reckon if you wanted to do something different and make it stand out from the previous version option 4 gives the best overall look for those who have their player at the top (me) and those who have their player at the bottom. Whereas the others tend to be best for only either top or bottom... If that makes any sense? Although a combination of 2 bottom, and 3/4 top would be best.

I was really rather enamoured by the design of this ->

Edit: I re-thought out my decision.

General Discussions / Re: GUI changes for v3.0

I've been using 3.0 and so far I'm absolutely loving it. Nice work Steven!

I've noticed that in Artwork/Album Covers view that the ability to group by album artist has disappeared. Will this be returned?

Thanks.

so_la_la, I was going to reply to another thread of yours and I just saw this.

I have a Lumia 820 (running Denim etc), and I'm having the same issue as you in regards to syncing. I'm trying to sync three (fairly large) playlists to my phone (over 25gb). Last time I finally managed to get it working, this process took over five hours to complete.  :'(

The problem being that for some insane reason my Windows Phone 8 device is fantastically slow talking to my Windows 8 laptop, and whenever I sync my music ALL of the tracks are re-copied over to the device.

Like you, I'm using .PLA format for the playlists, and copying over to an SD card (which I checked had the fastest read/write speeds I could find).

I saw in another thread that you were possibly going to move your music collection to OneDrive... But I wonder if you ever had any success with MusicBee?

(Also, I've never been able to get playcounts to natively sync, I am sure I remember reading somewhere that it isn't actually supported by Windows Phone?)

Questions / Re: Toolbar Icons
« on: November 04, 2014, 08:43:51 PM »
the icons folder is something you would have created yourself - its not something that is installed or removed with the musicbee installer.
Perhaps you used one of the icon packs from the Icons forum topic?
The only other suggestion is to check your recycle bin in you havemt already done so

I definitely didn't install or uninstall (at least knowingly) an icon pack. The icons were just always there, and now they're not. Are there a default set of icons within Musicbee?

Questions / Toolbar Icons
« on: November 04, 2014, 07:11:12 PM »
Hey,

Quick question, since the last update (which I know was in August), I've noticed that the toolbar icons have disappeared. Well I finally got around to trying to fix it, and I'm stuck since they, and the commands are all gone (see here!)

All I am really interested in is having back the 'refresh' and 'new tab' icon, but try as I might I don't know where they've gone. I've even re-installed Musicbee incase during the update those files were 'lost', but nothing.

Any help in this will of course be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Modified for formatting.

Plugins / Re: Mobile web plugin
« on: May 15, 2014, 04:38:06 PM »
Thank you for this app/plugin, it's just what I've been looking for. :)

I wonder, would it be possible to expand the parameters of the search function to possibly include tags, genres, and if at all possible, pre-existing playlists in the Musicbee library?

Otherwise, I am using this on my Windows 8 phone using IE 10 (and I have tried it out on my laptop running the latest version of FireFox) and it works wonderfully, although I am having to refresh the search page before searching.

silvestreccf, I really like this skin; I was wondering though, as I like to customise the skins I use a little to make them a little, (I'd like to change some fonts, and the shade of pink and some other things), would it be possible to have the .XML file?

Or better still, how do I open, read and edit a .XMLC file?

Hi,

I've stumbled across a pesky aesthetic niggle which I am sure has spontaneously appeared over the past two weeks.

Basically, the time playing\ track length time counters are now showing as time playing\ -track length time .  I don't know if this makes any sense, but if you look at the screenshots by the author and the one I will post below, the second time should be static showing the total track time, whereas I am getting an actual count-down to the end of the track (which I don't really like) and an annoying hyphen which just doesn't look nice.

I've glanced over the XML file (I'm using XBox Music Style) and I can't seem to find how to change this?

Thank you in advanced.

Turns out this was of my own doing, and apparently if you click the time/time remaining thingy in the main player it interchanges between displaying the track length as a static number and the length remaining on the song. Nothing to do with the skin, just my mindlessly clicking about the place.  :P
