Questions / Re: MusicBee doesn't remember last used playlist
« on: September 03, 2016, 08:42:37 AM »
Ok, I see. I had to create new tab, pin the panel to it and move it all the way to the beginning. This one remembers the stuff. Not sure why it isn't a default behavior for "Playlists" panel by default. I mean, wouldn't that be a desired, preferred behavior for large majority of users?

Questions / MusicBee doesn't remember last used playlist
« on: September 03, 2016, 07:47:27 AM »
MusicBee doesn't remember previously selected playlist after restart. Older versions did remember, but ever since the new interface, it always resets to the first entry on the given panel and I can't seem to find settings for it to remember this anywhere.

PLAYBACK:

AFTER MusicBee RESTART:

See how it jumps on the top of the panel to the first entry instead of remembering what playlist I had selected before? I usually listen to same playlists on regular basis and this requires me to click desired playlist every time I restart MusicBee and it's quite annoying.

Questions / Constant HDD accessing (small playback buffer?)
« on: January 08, 2016, 08:01:46 AM »
Is there a way to decrease amount of disk accessing by MusicBee while playing music? The thing is, I have my PC in the same room where I sleep and while I do have music in quiet mode playing the entire night, MusicBee is causing my PC to constantly access HDD in tiny bursts which makes HDD loud (loud read bursts) as well as making HDD indicator LED blinking like crazy all the time. Occasional blinking isn't distracting within the room, but this non-stop pulsing is super annoying.

As soon as I press pause, HDD activity stops. I also partially solved this by using "Increase bffer size" which just means it reads bigger chnks of data and then waits for next buffering read order. Which decreases the acces rate but still. Is there any way to even further increase the buffer manually or are there any plans to address this in the new versions? Winamp had buffer size adjustable so you could make player buffer entire songs into memory at start or huge chunks of really big mixes (what I listen most of the time, hour long mixed tracks).

General Discussions / Re: GUI changes for v3.0
« on: December 06, 2015, 08:04:48 AM »
Ok, how do I simplify "Now Playing" panel to just list currently playing/queued tracks and NOTHING ELSE? I'm fiddling with it and I can't seem to get rid of the left side panel with some sort of graphic as well as the thumbnail placeholder for cover art which is empty, but the box is still there. I don't need any of that, just a simple list of now playing tracks and that's it. I was able to have that in 2.x but not here.

In general, I think setup of panels is WAY too overcomplicated through entire MusicBee. Not to mention there are different rules for each different tab which is even further annoying.

Bug Reports / Re: MusicBee freezing/locking up

Yeah, it ONLY happens when it's minimized and NOT playing any music. I have MP3's playing through entire night and it hasn't locked up so far. But if I forgot MusicBee running and not playing down in the treybar, it just refuses to respond. I can doubleclick or right click the trey icon and it just doesn't respond. Then I have to kill it through Task Manager.

I am using 2.5.5804 (one version back was also locking up, when I updated to this latest version). Have checked the error log and there is nothing recen in it. Last errors are from August when I wasn't experiencing these issues.

I think this all started happening after the big Windows 10 update (TH2)...

Forgot to write down my system specs:

Intel 5820k 4.5GHz (fully stable, no crashes anywhere with it)
32GB RAM DDR4 2400MHz (using XMP profile)
ASUS Sabertooth X99 (BIOS 2001)
ASUS Strix GTX980 4GB OC (with ForceWare 359.06 WHQL, did notice that Experience trey icon is not running hm)
WD Black 2TB + 128GB Samsung SM951 M.2 SSD cache (both connected together with PrimoCache)
Sound Blaster Z with latest Win10 drivers
Windows 10 64bit TH2 (fully updated)
System pagefile disabled entirely (0 MB)

Bug Reports / MusicBee freezing/locking up
« on: December 05, 2015, 12:04:20 AM »
Can someone tell me how to figure out what's causing MusicBee freezes (lockups)? It just stops responding when minimized and only way to get it working is to kill the process. This always seems to happen if I have it minimized and NOT playing any music.

This was never happening prior Windows 10 TH2 update, but I'm not sure if this is the reason as I've also change some other system things in the meanwhile (like the M.2 SSD cache drive instead of SATA SSD and also the caching software).

Funny thing is, the only other app behaving the same is eMule. Just these two programs are locking up and NOTHING else even though those programs are also resident. It's easier to figure out on crashes through Event Viewer, but with lockups I have no idea what to even try.

Beyond MusicBee / Re: Winamp Dies
« on: January 11, 2014, 08:16:03 PM »
I've done it already. It's a bulk archive, but you can get everything here:
http://rejzor.wordpress.com/2013/11/27/winamp-5-666-with-mega-plugins-archive/

Several hours of downloading and uploading to my host lol. And then the winamp.com webpage didn't go offline on 20th December 2013. Lol...

Questions / Re: Di.FM not supported at all?
« on: June 08, 2013, 06:24:09 PM »
The main problem with MusicBee is the way how it handles music streams playlists. When you fire up Di.FM, you download a .pls file which gets loaded as regular playlist, but fails to be played because MusicBee explicitly requires streams to be located in Radio section and not anywhere else. Where in Winamp and Foobar, it doesn't matter at all. If you load the PLS file, it will play it.

You have to change stream type in profile settings. MusicBee is quite clumsy with the net radio playlists. In Winamp or Foobar, you just drag in or run playlist file and player automatically inserts ALL contained URL's into currently playing list and plays them. MusicBee does the same but simply won't play anything unless you strictly place the stuff manually into Radio section. Which is, like i said very clumsy and weird...

No, but i assumed AAC is supported since extension list does have "AAC" on it. That has to be fixed s that musicBee doesn't display AAC as playable format if it doesn't really support it...

Apparently MusicBee can't play AAC streams at all. I can add links from MP3 streams (PLS files) but when i add one from AAC PLS it refuses to play it.

Thanks, that worked. Can AAC stream also be used? I was trying to use the PLS file on the regular playlist and there it just did nothing (i was used to do that in Foobar and Winamp where it worked fine).

http://new.di.fm/vocaltrance

But you have to be a free registered user, otherwise you can only use a webpage player. I've tried AAC, WMA and MP3 and none of them played for me. Either just didn't play at all or i got an error that i forgot to capture. Is it possible to uncheck certain components that might be required for this during installation? I've done a portable install a while ago and i don't remmeber if there were any options regarding this.

Questions / Di.FM not supported at all?
« on: April 21, 2013, 09:39:08 PM »
I've switched to MusicBee quite some time ago because it's such a cute little music player with the cutest icon ever. However, after tunin g back to Di.FM after a while i got disapointed that i can't play it in my favorite music player anymore. It either throws out some weird error or it simply doesn't play any music. Playlist gets listed but it never starts playing. Am i doing something wrong or is this a known problem?
I hope i won't have to switch back to Foobar or Winamp...
