Hey there Steven, thank you for adding " right click/ Add to Playlist now shows the playlists the selected file(s) are already in"
to version 3.4.7687.  It works very well and will be a handy feature for me.

I haven't noticed it yet, but it's good to know the latest features.

Beyond MusicBee / Re: Do we have to deal with clipping ?
« on: January 13, 2021, 02:53:57 AM »
Most modern music is mastered with a lot of limiting and compression and to peak at 0.0dB.  Any sound enhancements you turn on in Windows or if you use EQ to add rather than remove frequencies, will make the clipping very noticeable.  Not so much with older "classic rock" or classical or jazz or whatever, but modern pop and rock is maxed out from the source.

The best advice to minimize the issue is to send the most pure, unadulterated signal possible to your output.  Turn off EQ and disable all Windows sound enhancements.
Yeah, I agree with this statement.

General Discussions / Re: music library - main folders organization
« on: January 13, 2021, 02:46:43 AM »
Another problem is tags. I have 40,000 tracks (not all of them I need, I plan to rethink my methods of collecting music and get rid of what is not fun) but a smaller part of them with tags. This is a very long job. Even if you use MusicBee tools or other tagging services, it is very long, because there are a lot of wrong genre tags on MusicBrain, Discogos. Everything needs to be manually entered, I browse my 2 main sites, where I get information about tags.

At the end of the day, if you want MB to organize your files in the semi-complex structure you wish to maintain, then all - each and every single one - of your music files needs to be tagged according to how you wish to implement that structure. Every file from every album will need to be consistent. MusicBee does not manage files by folders. It manages files by tags, as it should. If you wish to incorporate a particularly detailed directory structure within MusicBee, you're not going to be able to do it without MONTHS of correcting your tags.

The problem is that not all tracks on an album contain the same information. I noticed that somewhere the year is not marked, somewhere the name of the album is missing. All this can be fixed if I had 100 albums, not thousands

If you're not willing to fix these thousands of albums, then you won't have your desired structure within MusicBee and should stick with whatever file manager you were using before, because all the tracks on an album must contain the same information album-level information. MusicBee is a tag manager, not a file manager, and if your tags are all over the place, then it will display your files all over the place.

I proposed this in one of your threads, but the main issue here is you're jumping the gun. You need to get all the tags in all the thousands of your albums consistent and afterwards figure out how to have MusicBee organize them. You won't be able to do it backwards like you're wanting.
Very useful information, thank you. It really has an advantage when you are a member of the forum group because you will know how to handle things or situations when you encounter them in the long run.

Initially, I thought I had a buggy product. Other posts referenced this problem, but their solutions didn't work for me.  I read that support was unable to assist because no problem found (worked as should). The errors didn't happen every time, but enough to be troublesome.  My situation is resolved, finally; now a happy camper.   MB now works like a champ!  Love the program!  May save someone else lots of time and frustration.

Great, that's good to hear then. Congrats.. Well, honestly that's why I really love MusicBee for it is user-friendly.

Plugins / Re: LyricsReloaded (Updated)

Full documentation, written by the original plug-in author, is in this post.

I think that reference to variables means you can put things like <Artist> or <Title> in the pattern, but you'd have to play with it to make sure.

If you ever get it working feel free to contribute it here and I'll build it in.
Thank you for this information. I will check on this also.

wow, that's great. Thank you for sharing this tip with us. For sure this must be helpful to others especially like me who is a newbie.

Also, middle-click on any value in the main panel will do a search for that value. It doesn't open a new tab unless the tab you're in is locked.
Thank you for the added information. I guess there are a lot of things to be explored around.

Beyond MusicBee / Re: Musicbee and Google Play music backup

Just in case anybody else has the same question...
Youtube music does not automatically sync with your music folder like GPM did. If you want to upload music, you will need to choose the option in settings and choose the music files you want to upload or drag & drop the files into youtube music app on your PC.

Thank you for the clarification. It is very helpful especially to me.

Wow, that's amazing. I never heard anything like this before.

Tips and Tricks / Re: How to change MusicBee icon (fastest way)
« on: January 05, 2021, 02:53:09 AM »
I notice some people don't like the default MusicBee icon so i will tell you how to change it.
And since in wiki you need to change the icon in Properties, General Preferences, and FileTypesMan app, it makes you need to do this 3 steps every time you need to change to new icons (or it will be not synced). So I will just call this the fastest way   ;)

- Download resourcehacker  <-this application and Read how to use it here:

- Change your "MusicBee.exe" icon with resourcehacker. (i guess "C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicBee\MusicBee.exe" is the default location :-\ )

- Then MusicBee's internal icon, MusicBee's desktop icon, file types icon should be changed to your chosen icon.

- Last, if it not take effect try to restart your pc  ;)
Thank you for sharing your ideas. I will try this one too. Hopefully, I will not encounter any issues.

General Discussions / Re: Help setting up panels?
« on: January 05, 2021, 02:37:06 AM »
Set your library view to "Tracks," click the little box to the left of the search bar at the top right of MusicBee and select "arrange panels" and then put a check mark next to "Column Browser" on the dialog that looks like the one below.

More interface information:
Thanks for this. It is very helpful to me and not to mention, I am a newbie here as well. I want also to give thanks to the OP for making this thread. Finally, my confusion regarding setting up panels was answered.
