MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Device Sync Tab

Sorry, but that doesn't quite get me there either.  Thanks for all of the suggestions though!

I haven't tried that, but I guess so.  This gets me to a playlist to keep track of all the albums I want on my device, and a folder for all the playlists.  Really what I was hoping for was a single screen, that shows me all the albums/playlists/podcasts/etc. that are intended for my device (either what I've already synced to it, or what I plan to sync the next time).  Almost like its own mini-library that I populate from the main MusicBee library.  I can add/remove items from the device library based on how I want to change what is on my device.

I understand that I can do this today in a roundabout way, but my feature suggestion is for a more direct route.

I tried using the playlist workaround and did find a shortfall that doesn't quite let me do what I hoped to - I'm unable to sync playlists to my phone if I attempt to use a playlist to manage all the content that will be synced (because I can't add a playlist to another playlist).

That said, I'm having trouble finding another option that allows me to do what I'm looking for, so MusicBee is in line with the competition with this feature.

MusicBee Wishlist / Device Sync Tab

I'm a new user, and the one thing I hoped MB would help me with was syncing to my phone.  I have a large collection, so syncing everything isn't an option.

I'd love to be able to create a tab for my device that can persist even when the device isn't physically connected and shows me the sync list for that device.  That way I could easily view what is currently set up to sync and add/delete content from the sync list without needing to connect my phone to make modifications....preferably using the wifi app to sync once I have the updated sync list settled and ready to go.

I was provided a workaround to do this by using a Playlist for all the albums I want to sync, but it would be cleaner to be able to do it explicitly without having to use a workaround.

Thanks for providing a top notch music manager!

Questions / Re: Device Sync List?
« on: August 10, 2020, 05:27:45 PM »
Thank you for the quick response!  I have looked around that area of preferences, and do now notice that my two playlists are listed there with 'checks' beside them.  So the playlists seem fairly easy to manage from that part of the interface.  My suggestion, as a new user, would be to bring that part of the interface closer to the surface and quicker to access rather than it being several layers deep within the preferences menu.  I expect that managing the content sync to one or a few devices is probably something a lot of users would make heavy use of.  Just a thought...I know you aren't the developer, but he may run across this post :)

How would I go about managing which albums are getting synced?  My choices on that tab seem to be either sync my entire collection, or a random selection, neither of which are what I'm really after.  I'd like to manually select the albums to be synced.  Is there a way for me to select content to sync without my device being physically connected?  My phone seems to only show up on the 'send to' menu when I have it wired to the computer.

Thanks again!

Questions / Device Sync List?
« on: August 10, 2020, 04:57:49 PM »
Aloha,

I'm a new user, so not super familiar with all of the MB interface and features yet.  I have a fairly substantial music collection, so copying everything to my phone isn't an option due to the size.  I usually copy a set of albums and playlists to my phone and then switch it up every now and then.

I copied two new playlists to my phone and then realized I should have used the MB volume normalization feature, so deleted them and went to recopy using the wireless app.  As soon as the app connected, it re-downloaded the two playlists without me doing anything on the computer other than having MB up and running.  This is what I wanted to do, but I didn't expect it to happen without me telling MB to download them again.  Is there a place in MB (on the computer) that shows me what is set up to sync to my phone?  For example, what if I deleted these playlists and didn't want them to sync to my phone again.  Where would I go in MB to take them off the sync list?  When I had my phone connected via USB, the device showed up in the interface, but I don't see it unless I have a wired connection.

Thanks for any help on this.  I did a quick search on the forum and didn't see anything that looked like it already addressed this question.
