Oh look, patriot buy stopped responding. You there or did you get deployed mid conversation?

Interesting how you had nothing to say when I needed help to get the old version back. But you were all talk when boasting the new version.
I suggest you tone it down a little.
Everyone on this forum is a user. There is no here whose job it is to monitor the forum. It's not like sveakul, or any of us, is sitting in front of the computer 24/7 watching the MB forum waiting for an issue to address. No one does that. If you're looking for instant answers, you're in the wrong place. And you certainly won't get replies if you come across with an attitude.

You guys should really start releasing changelogs on a near-daily basis.
Perhaps you don't know, or understand, that there are no "you guys" here. MB is developed and maintained by one person. Who does this in his spare time, and asks for nothing in return. I don't think anyone expects him to post a change log for every change made in a patch versrion. Change logs are posted when a new release is issued. Not when a patch is posted.
Yes it is indeed expected of you guys to release a full changelog for every patch because you are distributing a free software and not to release a changelog is just plain suspicious.

Then why are you replying if there is no you guys. I dont care how many develop it, I want a proper full changelog every time some suspicious update patch is released. Never seed a dev without full changelogs LOL.

You should acknowledge the issue I had with the new version. Dont ignore it Im not brainwashed like most people in the private corporation called USA. - thats my opinion about the retarded place you live in.

Questions / Re: 3.2.6902 How to update + Changelog?
« on: October 06, 2019, 01:11:13 AM »
There isn't a full changelog per se, as updates to MB are being done on a near-daily basis.  If you start farther up the thread from where Zak linked you to for the incremental 3.2->3.3 updater, you can read some of the major changes from 3.2 as you scroll downwards:  https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=27074.msg152076#msg152076 .

The changes since 3.2 have been so helpful and major, including updates to the core audio libraries, that whether to update is a no-brainer IMHO.  After you use the incremental updater from where Zak pointed, then apply the latest "almost daily" patch linked to here:  https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee33_Patched.zip , assuming we're not (hopefully) talking about the "Windows Store" version.
So I just installed the new version and I got a random BSOD after 5 minutes of listening to music. This has never happened before to my pc in the past few years. Is there some compatibility issues with windows 10 pro 1607 ?

You guys should really start releasing changelogs on a near-daily basis.

Is there a way I can download the old version please?

Hi. I still have version 3.2.6902. How do I update without uninstalling? I dont want to lose all my settings. Also, where can I read the full changelog for the latest version? I wonder is it necessary for me to update since version 3.2.6902 is working great for me.

I didn't skip it, I explained that you should take questions like that to either the 'Beyond MusicBee' board or to a specialized audio forum.

So now that we are in the Beyond MusicBee board, lets start from the beginning. Can you please try answer my inquiries?

1.) When I run MB normally (not like admin), there is crackling when playing .TAK files, with default MB settings - WASAPI (shared) and Primari sound Driver. Why?
2.) I switched to ASIO (screenshot included) but it is a lot louder than WASAPI options. Why?

Over the years I have been forced to ditch a lot of soundcards only because driver support was lacking for newer operating systems.
The aging chipset that the soundcard uses is usually the cause of that.
Sometimes simply playing stereo is still possible, but multichannel and/or more sophisticated features (such as asio) can become problematic.

What soundcards were that and what operating systems?

If I am correct that is a 9 yrs. old $40 sound-card. I wouldn't call that 'professional'.

Can you please recommend me some soundcards that would have any physical advantage in sound quality over my 150ohm soundcard, or over MAYA44 eX which I intend to acquire in time, other than driver support?

Additionaly, local shopovner told me MAYA44 eX is a proffesional soundcard with superior sound... your thoughts?
Additionally I use only "Studio Monitoring Headphones" for listening to music because I consider the sound quality of those excelent.

aging chipset

Physically deteriorating?

Back to the original 'issue': If I understand correctly, your soundcard works well together with MusicBee with the 'normal' drivers.
So what are you looking for to improve exactly?

I did some more tests with ASIO because of the crackling when playing TAK files; and is only present if I don't run MB as administrator. Why is that? That was the original issue.
I understand you about soundcards, but I'm surprised to hear that. Seems I was incredibly lucky with this scndcard because those drivers you have seen work without a problem on the latest Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. Not only that but also I watch Blu-ray discs with 5.1 DTS-HD Audio without problems too.

Here are mediainfo examples

Format/Info                 : Meridian Lossless Packing FBA
Commercial name             : Dolby TrueHD
Bit rate                    : 1 984 kb/s
Maximum bit rate            : 3 603 kb/s
Channel(s)                  : 6 channels
Channel layout              : L R C LFE Ls Rs
Sampling rate               : 48.0 kHz
Compression mode            : Lossless

and

Format/Info                 : Digital Theater Systems
Commercial name             : DTS-HD Master Audio
Channel(s)                  : 6 channels
Channel layout              : C L R Ls Rs LFE
Sampling rate               : 48.0 kHz
Frame rate                  : 93.750 FPS (512 SPF)
Bit depth                   : 24 bits

Asio does not have a better sound quality, so why would you want that?

I didn't know that. I read in several places that it was better. Thank you for telling me. I will keep using wasapi (shared).

Cya.

But you skipped my question "My headphones are 32 ohm so what is the difference in "<32ohm" setting and "32~64ohm" setting in the soundcard drivers?"

So this is a screenshoot of my soundcard drivers. It doesn't have ASIO support?

I actually thought about upgrading to some of the other 9 year old sound cards MAYA44 eX or Julia XTe

https://www.esi-audio.com/products/maya44ex/

Can you recommend me some "new" soundcards which would have any advantage over mine or those two, please?

Yes my soundcard is ASUS Xonar DG with 150 ohm headphone amp and ASIO 2.0.0.12

My headphones are 32 ohm so what is the difference in "<32ohm" setting and "32~64ohm" setting in the soundcard drivers?

Thats right when I select the soundcard there is no issue. But I was under the impression that Primary Sound Driver is also using the soundcard drivers by default that's why I was confused when I heard crackling when playing TAK files.

Thanks for your help anyway.

But why is it so loud with ASIO?

I switched to ASIO. But now it is really loud even on 20% volume. Is that normal?

What does Primary Sound Driver option mean?
The second option is my dedicated soundcard.
When I use the Primary Sound Driver option (Default), I can hear crackling during playbach of TAK files.
When I use my soundcard option there is no crackling.
Can I get an explanation about the differences of these options?

Thanks!

Questions / Re: Embeded and External covers
« on: July 06, 2019, 10:36:04 PM »
True. I just tested it out now and seems it doesn't work. My Deezer collection has external .jpg covers and the same images embedded. MB still sees both. Oh well.

Aside from that, MB doesn't see external covers that have a filename for example:  251 Anthem (1).jpg
What does the <Filename>.* option do if there are several external covers (1).jpg (2).jpg in the folder?
In other words, what cover naming should I use when there are several covers for the same album?
