Great work on all 3 releases but this one I think looks the most unique. Fantastic job!

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: How to just blacklist a folder?
« on: October 17, 2019, 08:09:21 PM »
Why not just create a separate folder for the loose stuff, and one for all the rest that you want MB to see?
This is a very fair compromise, and one I've definitely considered. For example I could just move the loose tracks subfolder out of the Music folder entirely and have them elsewhere, problem solved.
But I sort-of was also asking with the hope that the feature was considered for the future, I think having a blacklist could be useful for many people and not just me with my current setup.

MusicBee Wishlist / How to just blacklist a folder?
« on: October 17, 2019, 06:43:33 PM »
Not a major problem, just a query.

All of my library is in one folder with subfolders i.e. Music>*Artist*>*Album*>*Tracks*. However I have one folder of loose tracks which I need in this Music folder, but I don't want it added to my library. Other than using a filter to just hide the tracks from my library, is there any way of making Musicbee skip the folder entirely on both automatic and manual scans?

P.S. to be clear, selecting every folder except that one in the "Choose folders..." prompt won't work for me here, because I'm constantly adding new folders and subfolders, and so I'd have to reopen the prompt each time to check off the new folders.

Cheers :)

Questions / Re: Merge modified albums which are sorted as date added

Brilliant! That works perfectly. Thank you ever so much Steven.

edit- Minor nag would be that it seemingly doesn't then bump it to the top of the list on date added, instead merging it to the previous entry. But this works far better than before, regardless. Thanks again, I love this player.

In the Properties tab of the Tag Editor, check the 'date added' field on the newly edited track and compare it with the other tracks. You can then change the 'new' track's date to match the old.
Thank you - that's a solution that would work, but I was hoping for a way of the 'scan folders' system finding these edited files then re-adding the whole album automatically if one or multiple of the files is renamed.
I know for sure this was in the program because I've had it this way for years but all of a sudden it's stopped working. Oh well.

Questions / Merge modified albums which are sorted as date added
« on: September 21, 2017, 07:01:02 PM »
I use album cover view sorted by Date Added/Year. If I have an album, then I rename one file, is there any way that the whole album is re-added as a new entry on scan? I used to have it set up this way and it workd fine, but since updating to 3.1 I seem to have disabled it and I don't know how to re-enable it.

this is an example of what I mean, the artist/album tags are identical and it's in the same directory, and they were all together as one album before - all I did was rename one file so they've split up. I'd like it so they're all automatically put together on re-scan. Thank you.

Plugins / Re: Win7 ProcessBar Support

Here is plugin's wiki page. Please update it if plugin is updated.

Thank you for this.
I'm bumping it after such a long time purely because there is another similar plugin (called Taskbar Progress) listed on the main site, but it's always a static green and doesn't have support for showing whether the track is paused (yellow overlay) nor stopped (red overlay), making this plugin far superior.

..and not just Album and Tracks layout. It's hard to really articulate what I mean but this was a chooseable option in v2.5 - http://i.imgur.com/UD0OKW3.png.

This is the only thing still keeping me on v2.5 because I used Artwork layout and use the search, to find specific songs, many times in any given day.

It's not a huge deal because v2.5 is still working fine for me, but please consider it. Thanks!

edit- it's in the latest version, thanks Steven!

General Discussions / Re: GUI changes for v3.0
« on: March 31, 2016, 05:41:15 PM »
I suppose this only somewhat counts as a GUI-related question.. but whenever I use search in 3.0.5929, it shows the entire albums that contain that query. Especially cumbersome for big compliation albums.
2.5 had this handy menu item on the search drop-down - http://i.imgur.com/UD0OKW3.png - is there any chance it can be added to 3.0? Or at least can someone tell me if it's been tucked away in the Prefs so I can disable it? Thanks!

Thank you! And yes, possibly. I hadn't updated my themes in a while so maybe updating them changed the padding value.

Sorry for the complicated title.

I used to have Musicbee set up to show my track numbers like ##/## with the disc numbers before that - so for example, track 12 on a 14 track album on disc 2 of the album would look like 02-12/14. For the life of me I simply can't remember how I set it up like this, and I'd appreciate help in doing so again. Thank you!

P.S. also if someone can tell me how to increase the padding between albums in artwork view, I'd appreciate that too. Thanks again.

It may not be as convenient but why not use CDBurnerXP for audio CDs & MusicBee for listening to music?
