Questions / Re: Sound Level--Bluetooth
« on: September 09, 2020, 02:41:15 AM »
I'm not using WASAPI, I'm using direct sound. I think there might be some conflict with Windows and absolute volume with Bluetooth. I did a repair install of Windows, and that seems to have fixed the issue. Maybe I did too many things to customize my system. I also uninstalled my Realtek sound driver and started using the Windows 10 High Def Audio Driver. I think I'll just start trusting Windows drivers vs trusting my motherboard-offered drivers. I also did this with my chipset drivers, so I'm thinking it was just a driver issue.

EDIT: I lied. I was set to WASAPI (Shared) and it was working fine. Hmmm... The plot thickens. I could have sworn I was using Direct Sound. Now I'm really confused. What should I be using? I swear I was using Direct Sound when the issue was happening.

It only appears to happen when I'm playing audio from another source when I activate MB. For example, if I'm watching a YT video, but I pause to listen to some music, then the volume will become higher on Windows in view, but when I lower the volume, the music gets louder.

I think I know what might be happening, but I need to test it.

I don't know why, but for some reason, I keep having to adjust the volume of my Bluetooth headphones whenever I open MusicBee. The volume in Windows 10 shows that the volume is 80, but it doesn't sound like 80. As a test, I lowered the volume to around 70 and it got louder! I don't know if this is a MB thing or a Windows thing, but my Bluetooth does this often. I'm not sure how to word this, so bare with me: I have MusicBee set to lower/raise the volume of songs so that all of them are set to 0 db volume. I wasn't sure if this has an affect on the volume issue or not.

Questions / Musicbee Not Showing In Microsoft Store
« on: October 19, 2019, 01:01:16 AM »
I installed the store version of MB, but it doesn't show in my installed apps. Did I do something wrong? I can still access the app and play music, but I don't get why it's not showing in my Installed section in the Microsoft Store.

Questions / Re: Streaming Music from Musicbee

Sounds like what I need. You understood correctly. I'll give it a try on my end to see if this helps my friend. I'm assuming this isn't commercial free?

Questions / Streaming Music from Musicbee
« on: February 17, 2019, 07:49:57 PM »
I have a friend who is a streamer and they are looking for a way to play music from online into their stream. They were using Spotify for a long time, but I guess there has been some licensing issues with Spotify that streamers on Twitch won't be able to use it anymore. Regardless, they're looking for an alternative method and I would like to suggest Musicbee to them, but I don't know if it has the ability to do what they are wanting it to do. I was hoping someone might be able to teach me how to setup Musicbee so that they can get Music from an online source or some kind of similar setup that might help them.

Questions / Re: How To Tell If A Track's Volume Has Been Analyze
« on: January 01, 2019, 08:26:22 AM »
If you just want to spot check individual files, the information is on the "Properties" screen in the tagging editor.

If you view your library in "Tracks" view, you can add Track Gain as a column.  The blank ones don't have it set.  You can sort by this column to see them all together.
AH HA! Okay. That makes sense. Sorry for not thinking of that. Of course, I was under the impression that they would all show 0 db for track gain, but it makes sense that the track gain would display as how much the volume was adjusted.

My apologies. I had forgotten that I created TrackGain as a Custom Tag first.

Edit > Preferences > Tags (1) > Custom Tags > Define New Tags... > and for 'label' name it anything you want (TrackGain) and for formula enter "$IsNull(<Track Gain>,,<Track Gain>)" without the quotes. Then use -that- in the highlighting rule.

I'll also add this. I was a little confused at first because nothing was being highlighted, then I realized that the rule is meant to highlight items that have not been analyzed.

Thank you all for your help!

I don't see Track Gain in the list when I'm trying to define a rule.

Questions / How To Tell If A Track's Volume Has Been Analyze
« on: December 31, 2018, 10:19:04 AM »
I recently did a volume analysis on all of the files in my library, but I noticed that I had left some out of the process. I did a volume analysis on the files I missed and just for the heck of it, I decided to test one that I knew for sure was analyzed. When I ran the analysis on the already analyzed file, it said that the track had been updated. This is confusing because it was already analyzed. Does this mean that I reanalyzed and changed the volume again? If not, how can I look at a file's settings or something to know if it has been analyzed? Does it have a specific tag? When I look in the tag (2) section, I don't see anything that indicates an analysis has taken place.

Questions / Re: Musicbee + OBS
« on: December 15, 2018, 05:12:26 PM »
I found what I was looking for. I just use the floating window and that seems to do the trick. Is there a way to set the floating window to be in the background, or at least have it only pop up when I want to use it?

I'm trying to check this setting because I feel like I'm noticing some skipping/stuttering in songs, but when I check this option and go back into the settings, it is not checked. Is this an issue with Musicbee or with Windows? I recently updated to Windows 10 1809 and had to reinstall some of my sound drivers.

Questions / Musicbee + OBS
« on: December 03, 2018, 01:57:09 AM »
Is there any way to load a playlist from Musicbee into OBS? I know that OBS has a way to import from a .playlist file, but I don't think Musicbee can export as a file like that. I know about the plugin to display the information about what's playing now on the screen but the features for that seem limited. I was looking for something that has it's own banner and would display the songs as they play. Basically, I'm looking for some sort of widget that would be a thin banner that I could put at the bottom of my screen. I suppose too this might be a question for the developers of OBS, but even if they were to consider adding that feature, would it be possible?

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Set Volume to 100% on Startup

I guess to add on to this, it wouldn't have to startup at 100%. It could be any volume the user chooses.
