MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Keep Playlist Folder Structure When Syncing
« on: December 31, 2023, 09:22:42 AM »
+1 I would love to see this as well. I have hundreds of playlists, which takes a while to scroll through on my phone when they're all put into a single folder.

Yes. Clicking a spot in the horizontal scroll bar works too.

Ok, thanks for trying!

With that latest version you have linked, nothing shows up in the error log when I scroll horizontally. In the version from Sep 11, scrolling in the opposite direction (trying to go to the right) gives me:

19-09-12 7:18:26 PM - True,True,lparam=46205429,rparam=-7864320,4
19-09-12 7:18:45 PM - True,True,lparam=53742107,rparam=-7864320,4

Sorry, I didn't notice this until now, but with the app versions you have linked in this thread, scrolling to the right now produces the same kind of visual bug as scrolling to the left. It gives me what you see in this screenshot: https://imgur.com/siXAIAq . In the previous version of the app that I was using when I started this thread (3.2.6902... I know, a bit old, but I was sticking with it due to an issue I had found at one point with syncing to an iPod when using a newer version), scrolling to the left produced the visual bug, but scrolling to the right didn't do anything at all

And yes, it does seem to be scrolling the opposite way of what other programs do.

I did it 4 different times, and got these 4 results:

19-09-11 4:24:21 PM - True,True,lparam=44436060,rparam=7864320,-4
19-09-11 4:26:15 PM - True,True,lparam=43780689,rparam=7864320,-4
19-09-11 4:33:17 PM - True,True,lparam=46533173,rparam=7864320,-4
19-09-11 4:36:05 PM - True,True,lparam=32115272,rparam=7864320,-4

That was quick! Unfortunately it's still doing the same thing: visual bug, plus no actual horizontal scrolling happening.

8
Sure. Does horizontal scrolling work at all for you in MusicBee?

Bug Reports / Horizontal scrolling doesn't work and/or produces visual bug
« on: September 07, 2019, 10:56:28 PM »
Hi. I have a mouse with a horizontal scroll wheel (Logitech MX Master). Using it to scroll horizontally works fine in most programs, but in MusicBee it doesn't work. When trying to scroll the main window area horizontally (when the columns are wider than the panel), it doesn't do anything. I've tried it on 3 different computers, and it doesn't scroll horizontally at all on any of them, including a computer that has a fresh install of MusicBee.

On one of the computers, horizontal scrolling produces a visual bug. If my current view of the main panel area is all the way to the left, and then I try scrolling horizontally to the left, it produces what you see in the screenshot. I've been using MusicBee for about a year now, and this has happened with every version of MusicBee that I've used in that time, and every configuration of view panels I've had in MusicBee.

Does anyone else have this problem?

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Multiple hotkeys for a single action
« on: March 23, 2019, 01:17:34 AM »
Sorry, that was taken a lot worse than I thought it would. I didn't mean for that. In other forums I've been on, a handful of requests for a feature were considered enough to be noticed, but I guess that's not the case in this forum. The ease of implementation part was meant more as a question, but I guess I should have worded that differently, or not at all.

Why not? There seems to be demand for it, and other music player apps have this functionality. Seems like it would be pretty easy to implement too?

Beyond MusicBee / Re: Android Music Players (Discussion)
« on: September 30, 2018, 08:36:27 AM »
I recently got an Android phone (switched from iPhone), so I've been trying out LOTS of music player apps over the past few days.

The one I ended up going with is Onkyo HF Player. It has a nice interface and lots of features that many other apps lack. One key feature is an "infinite-band" EQ: you can set as many EQ points as you want, at whatever frequency you want. This allows for a great level of customization, and you can equalize out imperfections in sound systems that normal equalizers can't. I didn't find this feature in any other music app. I also like that lots of features are easily-accessible from the main playback screen: lyrics, song info, EQ setting, volume level, app settings, and more. I highly recommend this music player app.

Some other good apps I found were:
- GMMP (GoneMad Music Player): very customizable and overall pretty good. However, some features are a bit of a pain to navigate to (Playlists, EQ, and lyrics), and it costs $5 (there's no free version, other than a 14-day trial)
- Pi Music Player: has a nice interface, but lack some features I want (lyrics display, and only has a 5-band EQ). If you don't need advanced features, this might be a good free player for you.
- MediaMonkey: same notes as for Pi Music Player, except that MediaMonkey is more customizable than Pi.
- Rocket Player: this one is pretty good, but the free version has lots of intrusive ads, and it's $3.49 for the paid version.
- Samsung Music: this is quite a good music app -- probably one of the better free ones. The interface is clean and it has most of the usual features you'd expect. No ads. The only reason I didn't choose it is because I like Onkyo HF Player more.

Other apps I tried, but didn't like for various reasons are: Blackplayer, DoubleTwist, foobar2000, Music Center (Sony), Music Player (I tried 3 different apps with this same name), Musicolet, Muzeex, Neutron, Poweramp, Pulsar, Shuttle, Stellio, and VLC.

Bug Reports / Re: Lyrics line breaks aren't displayed
« on: September 22, 2018, 04:33:59 AM »
Steven: yep, works perfectly now. I can go back and forth between iTunes and MusicBee to edit lyrics, and they look fine in both programs.

Thanks for fixing this!

violinbzjc: ya, it sounds like different versions had this issue in different way.

Steven: thanks for the update! It's great to see a developer who responds to their users! I'm glad to see the full line break instead of 1/3. Makes it easier to see different verses.

I just downloaded the patch you attached and copied the files into my install directory, but there's still an issue with lyrics that have been edited by iTunes. The test I did was:

1. In MusicBee: put lyrics into a song that previously didn't have any.
2. Quit MusicBee
3. In iTunes: open the Song Info dialog window for that song. The lyrics I just wrote show up properly. I then edit them by adding one word to one line of lyrics.
4. Re-open MusicBee. Now the lyrics for that song show up without any line breaks at all (whether there were previously 1 or 2 line breaks), and it shows this way both in the tag editor and in the lyrics floating window/display.

I have iTunes 12.8.0.150 and MusicBee 3.2.6836
