i do see a brief flicker that corresponds to when an album picture is rotated
This stops the flicker for my computer
https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee35_Patched.zip
unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files

That was exactly it. I had the image rotation on my W11 machine, and not on W10. I could reproduce the same behaviour by activating it on W10, so glad it's not OS related.

As for the patch, it indeed stop the flicker on all texts ( lrc, incoporated lyrics and biography) but I  would note that I still see the scrollbar briefly for a frame only when I play a track with .lrc synchronized when the album cover rotate.

Not a big deal for me as turning off image rotation does the trick so I'll just do that as I don't really need it in my case.

Thanks!

I don't know what to add much than the title but sometimes only on my Windows 11 pc (working fine on 2 others pc on  WIndows 10), texts on the now playing tab, while a track is played, will flicker (turn invisible) for a few frames and the scrollbar will appears. It looks like it's only doing it if the text is long enough to need a scrollbar like in lyrics, .lrc files or long enough artist bios.

A good way to see that happens was to set the main panel on the Now Playing tab to Large Album, and put Lyrics or Artist Biography  to the Main Panel (Left or right side) and just play a song. It happens like 1 every 25-30 seconds.
Putting the lyrics to the Right sidebar doesn't trigger this bug, looks like it's related to the main panel only.

MusicBee ver. 3.5.8249 but this bug was also in 3.4, I just updated to see this was fixed

Plugins / Re: Game Bar Widget
« on: November 11, 2020, 02:49:24 PM »
It should normally detect a track changing, however I suspect you shut down musicbee while the widget was active and in the current implementation, the connection will not be re-established when MB is restarted, so I will look to address that

edit:
if you redownload the plugin from http://www.mediafire.com/file/xks8rup0gir6shq/MusicBeeGameBarWidget.zip/file and follow the Install widget instructions, and then enable CD Art Display in the plugin preferences, then it should work for the scenario where MB is shut down/ restarted

Thanks steven,

So after the reinstall of the widget from your link (CD Art Display plugin was already activated) the track changing is working in the widget when MB is shutdown then restarted.

However the track changing in the audio setting of the gamebar is not and only pick the first track played after a MB restart but I don't know if the track name is suppose to be displayed here in the first place.

That's perfect!

One or two things i did notice:
-The musicbee audio settings on the audio setting sliders menu is showing the "artist" and "tittle" tags only for the first track you play and stay like this until you restart Musicbee. I don't know if it is intended to show those tags artist/track but I feel like just showing "Musicbee" is enough as tag can be a little bit too long to display on this list and can be a little bit confused when adjusting the sliders. Or make it refresh the artist and track name everytime but I feel like the widget is enough for this already.

-Maybe a mute button on the widget itself, even though it's maybe redundant with the audio settings menu but I feel like a simple press on the highspeaker icon could make it work just like musicbee itself.

In any case, thanks for this !

Just tested version in post #2161 and did a few edits on some albums, it seems to works better for me, no more UI freezes for now. Need more testing.

Edit:Mmmh, still some freezes but they last smaller than before. The Albumart not updating in main window is still there but I guess this is minor for now.

While I'm at it, here is some little bugs I encountered too:

When I change a cover from an album, the cover of that album on the primary panel doesn't change, I need to go to edit and save change again for it to update.

Here I just change the album cover to a white one.

Also the "use skin colors" work well, but with my skin, some words stays in black and are hard to read, with no way to twek this:

I use a stock skin (Dark : Duophonic)

Well some thing was wrong here:

Musicbee was till showing the previous version in the plugins windows, there were some files from the previous version in the directory "users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\MusicBee\Plugins" that I had to delete.

At least that's out of the way...

But it still slow down Musicbee as a whole for few seconds after I press apply, it looks like the plugin is doing something  where it's not supose to be active before Musicbee proceed to tagging the files.

Hello,

I decided to update my version of this plugin, from 4.xxx  (I don't remember honestly) version to the latest one.

I have a problem with musicbee getting slower than before and not responding program when I update tags normaly (without the use of the plugin)... Like updating the title of an album result in musicbee not responding for few seconds.

I also noticed that when I update tags from an album, as soon I as press apply, I can see all the tracks getting remove one by one, then replace with the updated tags and I guess this is what causing slow down.

If I dissable the plugin, everything works as intended, and this problem never happened with my previous version so I don't know what to do.

I was wondering that too a long time ago but never found a solution.

If you find one please let us know!

I've tried on an other PC to see if my pc was the problem.

I've tried a fresh install of Musicbee 3.2.6760. No plugin or skins. Language set to French.

2 scenarios; with and without the auto organise media files checked.
I've the "monitored folders" set up to "continuously monior", a folder named simply "Inbox" in My documents.

Put some albums in my library, and others in the inbox folder, search with the search bar in the Inbox tab, delete an album in the Music tab : same results everytime, the search bar empty itself and the search results is gone making me searching angain.

Not a big deal in a daily use. I noticed that because I have a lot of fresh lossless albums in my inbox that I have to replace with old lossy albums that are in my library, and i have to go back and forth between my library in inbox, making sure to not create dupes.

Hello Steven,

I'm doing this in différent tabs, switching from a tab named "music" which is my music collection, to a other tab named Inbox.

12
MusicBee Version : 3.2.6812

Here is the scenario:

1-Search for something using the search bar on your Inbox
2-Go to your Music Collection and delete something
3-Go back to your Inbox and the search bar and results will change to a previous search ( a search before step 1)

I think the same problem appears if you search something your Music Collection, then delete something in your Inbox.

Thanks

Ok so it looks like it works with multiple CDs, as long as you don't use "CD1 , CD2 ..." folders. Is there anyway to change that ?

Edit: Well I'll just leave the CDs subfolder for now, at least it make the directory path shorter  :D

14
With albums that have multiple CD, non media files are not moving from inbox to music collection probably because multiple CD albums create multiple folders (CD1-CD2-...). This works great when album has only one CD, or when the CD n° is blank.

I have my collection organise like this :

<album artist>\<Album>\CD<Disk#>\<Disk-Track#> - <Title>

Thanks

Questions / Question about freedb and auto-tag
« on: August 12, 2018, 12:26:56 AM »
Hello,

I tried to setup freedb to vgmdb with this adress http://vgmdb.net:80/cddb (I got the adress from here : https://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2618 )

I went to tag (2) and change the freedb server from there but autotag results are the same ( only MusicBrainz's results)

I tried http://vgmdb.net:80/cddb , http://vgmdb.net:80/cddb/en , vgmdb.net:80 ... still no result. I made sure the album I wanted to auto tag has the same title as the one on vgmdb but still no result.

That the first time I deal with databases so maybe I miss something ?

Thanks !
