Questions / Re: Location of playlist files
« on: September 23, 2018, 01:26:05 PM »
I think for now I have it all working. I checked "on startup check for updated or missing files" in preferences; library; shut down and restarted and every thing seams to be working. A bit more use will prove it, if it is good I will leave it alone for a while and then do some more tiding up. Thanks every one for the help.  :)

I tried the "locate in library" and could not find the track. I just looked in music bee library and discovered that none of the playlist tracks are there. Looked in windows explorer and the tracks are there in the music folders with the rest.

Ok I now have the playlists installed and relinking the music worked when I finely got the file path correct. but now I find the custom tags data don't show when the playlist is opened. ( I have the column but it is blank). If I have the music library open all this data is there?

Trying to copy play lists from one computer to another. On first computer the playlist mbp files are in the musicbee playlist folder in the music library separate from the musicbee program
If I copy them to the same folder in second computer they don't show in musicbee. If I copy them to the Playlist folder in the music program, They show in musicbee, but don't link to the music. Where should they be?

Ok I have managed to recover most of the data from a old back up so that proved that the back up worked. I will have a think for some days and try and work out why I have not been able to transfer to the other computer some thing about address or may be because the new one is the portable version?

Thats been one of my problems I am trying to fix and that is non of the data in the custom tags seams to get backed up. I have tried to copy the mbl files across but nothing happens. I have just been in the defined new custom tags and created some new ones, they appeared in the set display fields. but when I copied the library to the new computer they still didn't work?

Questions / Re: syncing or copying play lists
« on: September 12, 2018, 02:07:20 PM »
Hi, I have now tried that but am still missing some steps some where, If I go to play one of the tracks in a play list I get the message (The source file for track " name" could not be found. Would you like to locate it). If I click yes, I get the drop down menu of the music library and if I go and find the track in the list and open, all is good for that track. There has to be a ease way ?

Questions / syncing or copying play lists
« on: September 10, 2018, 02:11:11 PM »
I have been trying to set up two laptops the same. First up I have located the playlist files and copied them to a portable HD and then to the new computer. Not surprising it didn't work as the music is addressed different as it is on different partitions. I have also tried to sync the playlists to the portable HD that worked and can play them from that drive but importing the play lists from there came up as not being able to fine the track again. what is the best way to get this information transfered over.

Questions / Two libraries on one computer.
« on: September 02, 2018, 03:26:38 PM »
Is there a good way to have two libraries on one computer? I need the settings and playlists ect separate as well and require to be able to sync each of these libraries and settings  to two separate computers. I have tried at the moment to partition the drive and put one library on one and the other on the other partition and load MB on to each but MB found both libraries.
