Questions / regex function, but where?
« on: July 10, 2023, 02:33:41 PM »
Wasn't there a regex function so I can replace a character or similar? Where was that found? I do sometimes import files that has numbers so it would be great to remove first 3 characters in the beginning and also change ( to [ and similar, its not hard but don't know where the "search and replace" is found?

Questions / Re: "Embed picture in the music file" auto-select?
« on: June 27, 2022, 12:10:16 PM »
Try putting Embedded at the top of the list on the right side of your first screenshot.  The setting for downloaded photos only applies to downloaded photos.

Yes. It is, but I just realized. When there is no cover from start it does work. Its just when it has an image already that makes it not autocheck. I have some low quality images that I wanted to replace with higher resolution images I downloaded.

Questions / "Embed picture in the music file" auto-select?
« on: June 26, 2022, 04:17:45 PM »
I have enabled in "Tag (1)" under artwork, "embed picture in the music file", but still when I paste a image file, it does not auto-check the box that I want checked.

Have I missed something or is this a Bug? It might be a user error so I post in question.

Plugins / Re: Discogs Tagger

It might be more practical just to implement including the disc # in the discogs search so only one specific disc is returned

That would be okey as well. I would even like that better

I think there is a problem with multiple disc tagging, at least on two releases I tried, It only get the first disc, but not the second one:

EDIT: Sorry I didn't see, the one before me just wrote the same thing.

Questions / Re: Correctly Formatting audio-files for recognition

Musicbee has the option to generated tags from filenames as well

You must build a template
File name
Chiaroscuro Quartet\Beethoven - String Quartets Op. 18, Vol. 1\01 - String Quartet No.1 in F major, Op. 18 No.1 - I. Allegro con brio.flac
Template
<Album Artist>\<Album>\<Track#> - <Title>

You might also try the auto tag feature: "Identify track", it will do an internet lookup

https://musicbee.fandom.com/wiki/Auto-Tagging

So two folders, first artist, then album name... I will give that a try. And the auto tag feature is useless sadly cause I have never shared any off my songs or recordings so they are not documented.

I'm pretty sure all popular tagging tools such as MP3tag, Picard, Tag&Rename, etc. can generate tags from filenames.

It looks like MP3tag would work with ogg-files. But I do prefer if there were a way without having to using more programs. :) Thank you for the tip.

Questions / Re: Correctly Formatting audio-files for recognition
« on: March 06, 2022, 07:01:57 AM »
I have about 600-files or more left with no meta-data at all, I Could do this manually, but I have done about more than the double and I'm getting tired of importing and renaming. However I have importet and the track number then artist is in the track, I then used the tool to add number, then delete the track number from each song. (It's selfmade songs, demos and other stuff so nothing official released, otherwise I would have used the tagging-tool for album)

It does however split when importing and it has a "-", the first part before is Artist and part after is title. So I was wondering if its possible to just rename to get track number and similar to import as well.

If I got files with no meta-data, how should I rename the files to work?

I tried different combination but I only get the track number + artist name in "artist name":

Also is it possible to add the year of the album as well?

Code
01. Artist Name - Album Name - Title Name.ogg
Code
01 - Artist Name - Album Name - Title Name.ogg
Code
01_Artist Name - Album Name - Title Name.ogg

But the track does not appear in the tracks it only show up in artist when importing the file.

Questions / Remove part from multiple tracks?
« on: July 29, 2021, 10:13:36 AM »
I have a lot of songs that has in the title name the the track number. Is it possible to remove from multiple tracks the first 5 caracters/letters/numers/spaces

for example "04 - What The Powerline" to "What The Powerline". I got about 200 songs that has the track number in the start.

General Discussions / Two Library with two folders?
« on: May 08, 2021, 08:03:36 AM »
Is it possible to have two Library's that the first one (lets call it "My Music") only uses the folder on disc d:/Mymusic and the other one (lets call it "Not My Music") only uses the folders on disc e:/Husbandsfolder for example.

I do like when it does organize stuff automaticlly, but I do have problem cause it only merges both folders to one.
