Tips and Tricks / Re: Run MusicBee 2.x under MacOSx with PlayOnMac
« on: July 16, 2016, 10:26:19 AM »
I've made some progress using native Wine instead of PlayOnMac.
Now Musicbee 3 is running on Mac OS El Capitan.

I used the installation method described here:
https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=33888&iTestingId=94264

It seems to work pretty good so far.
But the installation process is complicated for an inexperienced wine user like me.

Maybe I will do a step by step after some more testing

It definitely has something to do with the picture size.
I have one album where 2 pictures are embedded per file.
The big one (1200x1200) is 'invalid' while the small one (399x400) works.

I just installed Musicbee 3. You have to go to 'configure Wine' and select a newer Windows Version.
I've selected Windows 10. Afterwards you can install Musicbee 3.
So far most of it seems to work.

There is a problem with embedded pictures in Mp3s. Musicbee reports them as invalid.
You can right-click and save them somewhere and Musicbee creates a normal readable jpeg.
So it actually can read them, but reports them as invalid.
I think its a problem with big images (1200x1200).

It would be useful to have some kind of list of required Windows components for Musicbee.
So far I only know that Dotnet 4 is required.

Plugins / Re: Additional Tagging and Reporting Tools

Yes. clr.dll is common language runtime. Its a part of .net framework. Try reinstall .net first.

Now I got it working. My Net Framework obviously was the problem.
Sorry for bothering you with this.

great plugin. thank you!

No, plugin is started/invoked at MB startup/clicking on plugin menu item, not on opening all plugin prefs or just openening Tagging Tools menu. I'm not sure what could I log in this situation.
Ah, you are right. Now it's even crashing a few seconds after the Musicbee start,
without me doing a thing.

This is the header of the Microsoft error message that pops up.

problem signature
AppName: musicbee.exe      AppVer: 2.5.5469.14126     AppStamp:5497cdb8
ModName: clr.dll      ModVer: 4.0.30319.2045      ModStamp:53b5055f
fDebug: 0       Offset: 0017464b

I googled that clr.dll and it could be a problem with my .net framework installation.
I don't know if this is the case, since everything else works normally.

Musicbee crashes immediately when I go to
->Edit/Preferences/Plugins
or
->Tools/Tagging Tools

probably when Musicbee is trying to load it.

I would need a debug Version of Musicbee or an error log, to see what is happening.

Hi,
I'm trying to get this plugin working, but Musicbee always crashes, as long as it's in the plugin folder.
Musicbee 2.5.5469
mb_TagTool_2014-12-30

I'm running it on an maybe unusual System. WinXP SP2 in a VirtualBox on a Macbook.
Any advise on this? Tried is also with a fresh install of Musicbee, but that didn't help...

Without the plugin, everything works fine. Other plugins too.

MusicBee Wishlist / Continuous scrolling in Now Playing Photo View
« on: October 06, 2012, 05:08:54 PM »
Hi,
1. I like the 'Photos' view in the Now Playing Tab.
But the fast scrolling and stopping looks kind of cheapo and doesn't fit the rythm of Music.
I would rather like to see a continuous scrolling - maybe even reflecting the speed of the music.
   Probably too cpu power consuming...
Or a simple fading would be better too.

2. Double clicking the photos for a fullscreen Slideshow / single click to close the fullscreen

thanks for adding this so quickly Steven! That's great. Works very well.
Just donated something.
+1 to add this for the right side bar too!

just one small bug: Drag&Drop from the right sidebar Now Playing list doesn't work.

Here is a video to show you how it works in Lightroom.
It's a bit choppy - but that's just the screen video capture software.
Turn on sound to hear the mouse clicks.

MusicBee Wishlist / On mouse over show side panels
« on: March 28, 2012, 08:15:14 PM »
Hey,
I use the show/hide left and right panel button alot on my small Laptop screen.
A 'mouse over' feature would be really cool and would add a very modern touch.
If you hover over the icon and don't click it the sidebar just overlays the main panel without resizing (maybe even with a transparent effect).
As long as you stay with the mouse in the side panel it overlays. When leaving the panel it closes.
If you know Adobe Lightroom you know what I'm talking about.

I don't know if this is complicated to implement, but it's a handy and good looking feature.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Remember Library Scrolling Position
« on: December 30, 2011, 10:55:51 PM »
+1 for each tab

13
thanks for the idea with the locked tab.
But this works only till I close Musicbee.
After the restart the Ipod tab jumps back to the beginning of the music library.
Is there a way to remember the last position (would be cool for the music library tabs too)?

14
I would like to see my Ipod in a fixed panel under the Navigator Panel (like the Libary Explorer).
That would make it easier to drag and drop music on it. The way it is now I always have to scroll down the
folder list to find it.
Also a 'send to Ipod' hotkey would be cool.

thanks for this great player!
