Hello everyone,

as far as I understood it right, Musicbee gets the "suggested genres" from Spotify, right?

It was removed because last.fm made changes to its API terms.
However, it can now be sourced from Spotify and i have put it back in:

https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee33_Patched.zip
unzip and replace the existing musicbee files

Now I'm wondering if there is a way to select multiple new tracks and write the respective "suggested genres" as a genre tags for all of them.

i am a big fan of the website everynoise.com, which as far as i know gets its genres from the spotify-api too. i consult the website when i am unsure what genre a track might have.

mapped my xbox-controller to the shortcuts of musicbee.
now i can skip tracks, rewind, rate a track and controll the volume.
only thing missing, is "jumping" to another playlist.

MusicBee Wishlist / Playlist-Cover View
« on: March 29, 2021, 01:33:28 AM »
Hello,

what would you think of a custom view that is more playlist oriented instead of album oriented?

Would love to browse through my Playlists with custom Playlist-Covers!

Would be nice to have a "Playlist-Cover View" like Spotify.
So i could Browse throuch my Playlists in a more visual way.

The only things that can be done to resemble some elements of your screenshots are the player bar (but then buttons such as eq. shuffle, repeat etc. would have to be made invisible, which is not advisable), and the specific light colouring of panels.

For getting layouts that resemble the screenshots better, perhaps a Theatre Mode could achieve something more like it.

Well, that's a start!

But I think it's more about the handling of MusicBee, rather than a  "just look, don't touch"- look, as the TheaterMode allows us to do.

Anyway, i wrote fred an PM. Maybe we can find a way to put such a clean style into MusicBee.

It's not about slimming down MusicBee - I love the variety of options on MusicBee - but simply about the possibility of making the whole visual appearance a little lighter and cleaner. Hence my question:
would you be able to create the designs I presented with a MusicBee-Skin?

Hi guys, my name is Alex and I've been using MusicBee for a few years now and I love all the ways I can optimize my music database.
Unfortunately, all these little settings start to get a little overwhelming at some point. On days like this as a graphic designer I miss simpler times and a simpler UI design. I then miss iTunes, which is more visually appealing to me. Even if it cuts down the range of settings significantly.

Yes, we can customize the look of MusicBee using skins - even with limitations. Because to achieve this light and slim design, we'd have to get rid of all the frames that make MB look kind off "blocky" and hard.
So would it even be possible to achieve this kind of lightweight UI design in MB, or is MusicBees' freedom to customize linked to that degree of "stiffness"?

I have some examples of the "lightweight UI design" I was talking about.
You'll find that these UI designers show very nice approaches to what a modern MusicPlayer could look like:

Apple iTunes Redesign Using Google Material
from UIUX Lab

iTunes MaOS — Reimagined 2019
from Kacper Rawluk

Apple OS Future UI Kit - Music Edition
from Aurélien SALOMON

So let me hear what you think about it.
Is it even worth all the effort? Or do you think such a design is beyond MusicBees' capabilities?
I look forward to your ideas and feedback.

Cheers

Questions / Re: Second Rating in Main-Panel
« on: November 26, 2019, 03:32:38 PM »
Hi!
Thx for your answare!

I didn't knew about that option. But its already checked.

It's about to be able to set the rating with mouse-over effect of the stars.
Regular rating tag is working that way - my custom-tag doesn't.

So any other ideas?

Questions / Second Rating in Main-Panel
« on: November 25, 2019, 10:25:47 AM »
I made a secondary rating via embedded custom-tags (called "Intensity").

Why cant i edit the custom rating from the main-panel like the regular rating
and have to go for the "edit" Window?

thx!

Questions / Queueing Upcoming Tracks dont work
« on: March 15, 2019, 12:16:25 AM »
Hi Guys,

My Current Settings are:

• if Playback is stopped:     Play Now
• when tracks are playing:  Queue Next
• Play Now action:             clear list and play all tracks

When im Playing a Track and browse through my Library and queue some Tracks with doubleclick,
MB doesnst play them one after another. it skipps all the tracks i queued and just plays the last one i queued.
That sucks.

Is it possible to fix that somehow?

thx

Would be nice to do so.
