Beyond MusicBee / music suggestions
« on: September 21, 2017, 01:41:06 PM »
perhaps MB forums isnt really the right place for this but I know anyone who cares enough to be on these forums is a true music fan .

ive been building my library for some years now and for the first time ive hit a block.

i like early 70s late 60s rock/prog rock/metal  (zeppelin, sabbath, journey, yes, deep purple)
anything british invasion era (queen, beatles)
southern USA country (skynyrd, lost dog)
folk (bob dylan)
and sometimes indie.

what have you got for me folks.

anything lesser known is best, but all is appreciated.

Thanks :)

Questions / Re: save current playlist as a file

Now that's a hassle, would be a lot easier if I could just hit control + s. This makes replacing playlist a lot harder than it should be.

whole process takes about 20 seconds mate.

1.open a new and empty playlist

2. click top song > hold shift button > click bottom song

3. drag selected songs to the empty playlist

4. right click playlist and export.

Quick follow up question.

Its sorted now but im noticing a few errors such as the picture of Celine Dion for Heavy Metal band Dio.
is there a way to manually correct an artist image?

Questions / Re: How do I delete all content in MusicBee and start over

you can save your playlists by exporting them as .m3u in music bee.  right click on a playlist and click export and save the m3u somewhere safe.

you can then wipe your music bee data then import the m3u files back in later

Questions / library size limit.

Is there a limit on how much MB can handle?

Either as number of tracks or file size.  Just had this thought the other day as my collection is nearing half a TB and is on about 22,000 tracks.

Thanks mate ill give that a go

You can use the Advanced Tagging & Reporting Tools Plugin to accomplish this.

i think i know what you want to achieve and here is how to do it.

1. tag your music with "custom 1" in the "tags 2" header as either: live, Studio, compilation....whatever.

2. right click the top panel and select Group by > Custom Tags > Custom 1

MusicBee Wishlist / Roman Numeral Recognition for Capitalisation Tool
« on: August 30, 2017, 03:16:21 AM »
in every edition of MB to date the auto tagging tool "capitalise" reads roman numerals as a word as leaves them looking like so:

Iii, Ii, Xvi, etc.. when they should be  III, II, XVI respectively.

many artists self title their albums with only roman numerals to distinguish between releases (Chicago is a prime example)

The capitalise tool is one of my favourite features and I use it a lot. hence my post about it.

Questions / Re: Help with cue listed FLAC files
« on: May 14, 2017, 02:35:13 PM »
so slight update on the issue here.  Ive used the file converter in MB to great success on most FLAC + Cue but some albums cue sheets are being read and I see only one "song"(file) in the MB library. Does this mean the cue sheets are faulty? Ive taken the long road and began using audacity to splice the files into tracks and still keep the 24bit, 192k quality.

BTW: why not use MusicBee to do the job?
Select the tracks and "Send" to "Format Conversion".
You don't need to convert, it will simply split the single file in 1 file per track

Hadn't even thought of that. thanks mate. i'll let you know how it goes.
