Re: Album info not displaying from device in musicbee display
All it is showing is album art and track names. Album / artist / track numbers etc. all show as blank. It does report correctly on my device display though, but makes it near impossible to select albums to delete off my device from within musicbee.
Anyone??? I am quoting my post because this problem still exists...

Bug Reports / Musicbee wont play files Windows 10
« on: July 18, 2016, 06:54:54 AM »
Fresh install Windows 10 64bit (I see there is now windows mediaplayer in the install - I suspect this is the difference).
Have installed lame plugin (tried both 64 and 32 bit). error=BASS_ERROR_CODEC
I have looked up all topics on this in the forum. Nothing works. Have installed K-lite codec pack and as many others I could find.
Whats weird is that VLC mediaplayer plays my mp3 files and even Irfanview image viewer!...

Bug Reports / Cannot drag albums into playlist Version 3
« on: May 17, 2016, 11:07:17 AM »
I left click to on an album cover to select the entire album, and when i drag, it reduces down to one or 2 tracks as a selection, which cannot be dragged anyway. Once selected I can select the highlighted tracks themselves and drag, but i'm sure we used to be able to drag via the album as opposed to tracks. Great job on the revised program in general, thank you very much.

Questions / Re: First impressions of version 3

Ah thanks for that. I'm embarrassed to say I don't know the format in which to +1. Please advise.

I have to say as well that Steven has done a MAGNIFICENT job of the manipulation enablement of the panels. Truly blown away at the depth of this program!

Questions / First impressions of version 3

Installed, and immediately noticed 2 omissions:
1: no option for random skin
2: can't right click on bottom volume / control / player control and click on 'output to' - specified audio device.

Steven,
How do i know if you have read my post or not? - is there some indicator?
Perhaps you should add an indicator in, then we will know you have seen it and we shouldn't persist thereafter, knowing you will apply it if you find the time and or think its a worthy mod.

MusicBee Wishlist / Vertical Thumbnail Browser enhancements
« on: January 08, 2014, 10:48:53 AM »
Great addition this was, thanks.
As was requested in a previous post, it would be nice to have the ability to adjust thumbnail size here for those with larger monitors. Perhaps just a default / medium /large selection would suffice.
Also
It is updating the thumbnail artwork with artist images from the web, which is taking FOREVER. I.e. an option for the thumbnail selection to simply choose a random album cover that exists within the files, would be almost instant. I don't store any images in a folder within the artist, i always embed the album art.  I realise the logic for it not to be album cover specific, but where the thumbnails are so very small, the picture is hardly visibly identifiable anyway.
ta

PS, i just found where this downloading Artist art is hiding, and whilst they are all good quality images, it may be an idea in the 'Show Album Art' floating window to add the selection 'Artist Pic' in addition to the existing  'Playing Tracks' and 'Selected Tracks'  displayed art options, and just link it to these files.

What is 'too bad'. - 30 mins to update 1 artist! (true). Yes time for a new notebook.  It seems to rescan more than what we just think.
Besides, it is a schlep to pinpoint artists by name, - it is easier to sort by 'date modified' - understanding if i download 5 artists for e.g., it is way quicker sorting the files per modified date in explorer, and then just drag all 5 to the in-box or library instead of 1 at a time or per artist.
The duplicate caution window already exists - so why not just 'enable' it for dragging from windows explorer?!..., or better still, why not add 'windows explorer' as a folder option just like 'library explorer' exists under the library panel. I think then both explorers will be privy to the same available duplicates caution window, as an INTERNAL function. Eureka!

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Drag and drop caution window - expanded
« on: December 10, 2012, 09:40:40 AM »
Even rescanning a single folder or artist is UNBELIEVABLY slow - on a slow computer (e.g. my girlfriends notebook - single core celeron from the ark)(or is that arc) If i however instead drag from windows explorer, even her fossil machine does it in a flash, but it drags with ALL songs in that artists directory, and merrily duplicates. It would be SOOO good to have a caution window that enables you to only copy across new files...

I was elated at the caution window appearance in the last version, as i had accidentally renamed over 1000 songs, - a few times, - through careless dragging and dropping.!
Suggestion - How about a cautionary window that tells you you are about to create duplicates. I know it exists if i drag doubles into a playlist, but it does not appear if i drag a folder from windows explorer into the MB main window. It happily creates duplicates in that instance. Why would i drag from windows explorer you may ask?! - because if i want to update tracks of just 1 artist, it is WAY quicker doing it this way than a rescan....

Steven?...

MusicBee Wishlist / Digital VU meter

Vaguely linked to the general 'improving of the EQ settings'.
When i 'over' tweak certain frequency bands in the new 'and better' 15 band range, i find that i have to reduce the pre-amp to prevent saturation / clipping resulting from my over zealousness. Perhaps in the background of each band slider a color coded VU meter could indicate which channels are over saturating (red at the top of the meter is pretty standard). I would then simply slide the pre-amp down until the weak link is not over saturating. Yes, a frill, but this is the wish list after all.

Plugins / Re: Alternative Mediakey Plugin

The volume controls for version 2 don't work. I've tried uninstalling intellitype and my keyboard, as well as the plugin. Heeeeeeeelp......

OK, sorted!
I uninstalled MB, and did a clean install of version 2 with net4 mediakeys plugin for my microsoft keyboard. All is working now. Strange one.
