In the main "Tracks" area when I just want to play a single song I would, to me logically expect that a double click would do that. Sure it starts to play the selected song, BUT it also adds ALL the music files in the folder to the "Playing Tracks" / playlist!?!

How do I turn off so MusicBee does NOT add anything but the selected song(s) by normal left clicking?

Yes I am aware of the right-click options, however to me it's more logical just to normal left-click.

Ok in Preferences under "Now Playing" I found the setting under "Play Now"!

Top right, next to "Library". Or you can change it in the layout settings.

Ok I figured out how to turn off the "Left Main Panel" thanks!

Top right, next to "Library". Or you can change it in the layout settings.

I did not find a pin icon, but in the upper right I clicked the icon looking like a layout. There I expanded "Left Panel" and it was set to "Hide Panel (Auto-Open)". I changed it to "Show Panel".

That did make my desired left folder navigation view stay, however it opened a new vertical panel with all the artists it found in the selected folder. So how do I turn that off? I want the navigation to stay, but no "Artist" panel to open.

Your left navigation panel is in auto-hide mode. You can change that by clicking the Pin icon at the corner.  Although you might be interested in the standalone folder panel.

In any case, I suggest you spend some time with the wiki to better understand your layout options: https://musicbee.fandom.com/wiki/The_Anatomy_of_MusicBee

Thanks a bunch for a quick response. I don't see a pin. Which corner should it be in?

In MusicBee I click "+" sign to add a new Tab.

Then I specify the tab to be my C drive, or more specifically a folder containing multiple folders containing music files.

In the left navigation pane it shows under "Computer"

So far so good, I can click a small right "arrow" icon to expand a folder, and again if there is any subfolder.

Problem is when I then move my cursor to the main "Tracks" area to select a file, the navigation pane changes, well it disappears and turn unto "All Artists" with artist/folder name below. To again show the folder navigation I need I have to go up and click the created "tab" on the top. To me that behavior is really annoying! Anyway to turn that off?

Visualizers / Given up on Visualizers - Need help/clarification
« on: May 25, 2020, 07:44:57 PM »
I used to use WinAmp, and may just find the download for the latest version they made before shutting down.

One reason I loved it was the visualizers, where most and as far as I can remember, reacted to the sound (frequencies), and I could at any time switch between different visualizers.

With MusicBee, I downloaded the three I could find in the download section, and was immediately put down as I could not find any instructions where to store extracted files.

Secondly after I finally found out where to store the files, I restarted MusicBee and saw that it now had several more Visualizer options.

However it may be me, or there is a bug. a) For the downloaded ones, if I switch visualizer during a song it goes blank (no visualizer). To get the different one to work I have to stop and restart. b) If I start visualizer before starting song, the visualizer will not work. c) The downloaded visualizers all keep going even if there is no music.

Thirdly are there any visualizers that actually responds the music, or more specifically the frequencies?

Questions / Re: How to stop all desktop notifications

With that option unchecked, mine doesn't show any popups when I play a file from Windows Explorer.
If yours does (and you're running the latest version) you might have post a bug report.

Damn I am sorry, I worded it wrong.

I do actually not get a "regular" pop-up notification, what I meant is that when I click a new song from Windows Explorer, then in my Window taskbar, that in my case is hidden, becomes visible and the MusicBee icon in Taskbar flashes, and that is what I consider annoying.

So the problem is if MusicBee's developer can add a preferences setting or it is a Windows OS thing.

If you mean the little window that shows you each track that starts playing, Edit > Edit Preferences > Now Playing and uncheck Show Popup in the Playback options.

Yes I already did that and that works fine when I start a new song from within MusicBee.

However that setting does not prevent the to me annoying popup that appears when I start a new song from a Windows Explorer folder.

How do I get rid of that?

How do I stop all desktop notifications?

Meaning if I start a new file from Windows Explorer by double-clicking or from within MusicBee, I do not want to see any desktop notifications what so ever.

Questions / Most unnecessary complicated music player ever!
« on: May 20, 2016, 03:13:26 AM »
Wow this is the worst piece of crap ever! Just my honest opinion guys!

I mean why not go the full monty and let users set their preference via machine code?!?

I am definitely uninstalling this crap, and going back to the latest version before 3.0, as I do not have time to sit for hours on end to find out how to configure the panels like I had them before.

Many things totally suck, I finally found out how to browse to "My Computer" and the folder where I have my music and it created a tab/ However when I click a subfolder with files, it "auto-idiotic" removes the panel with my drive and folder and creates a new tab even though there may NOT be any music files!?! Why?

I then have to click the Tab with the computer drive and folders TWO TIMES to bring it back into view! Why?

And if I hover my mouse back out over the left panel with the folders and then away the whole panel disappears?!? Why?

And I can't even do something as simple as clicking and dragging the width of panels?!? Why?

FAIL, SUCKS, FAIL! Worst program interface ever!
