No, on work computer the D: drive is a DVD ROM which is usually empty, whereas at home it is my secondary HDD where MusicBee runs from. That is probably it for the error.

Other than that is there anything that can be done to mitigate empty tabs, other than manually remapping them one by one to their respective playlist?

Just for the sake of documentation I tried with the latest version v3.3.7165.34284 nd I get the same error

I've been getting this error lately for the past few days when clicking one of the existing library tabs on a different computer.

I use MusicBee portably and open it daily, when switching computers from home to work I always get empty tabs, and I have to manually click them and browse to the correct playlist to repopulate them. This error happens when I click one of the existing autoplaylist tabs.

Questions / Empty tabs when changing computers
« on: March 05, 2019, 09:57:21 AM »
TL;DR: I get empty tabs for autoplaylists when using MusicBee 3.2.6902 from a different drive letter

In MusicBee 3.2.6902 I have a bunch of tabs permanently open corresponding to a series of auto-playlists most with a simple path filter of the sort:

Code
Path contains \Music\Genre

I also have a few default ones like Recently Added.

When I use MusicBee on my work computer I run it from a thumbdrive with a different drive letter. It correctly remaps my library without issues, but most tabs appear empty until I go through each one of them and manually click on the corresponding entry from the sidebar to force a refresh.

I assume this is because of the drive letter change; somehow the library updates correctly but the autoplaylists aren't refreshed on time or properly repopulated for the new paths.

Is there a way to avoid this and have it populated automatically? Is this considered a bug? Home computer is running Windows 7 64bits while work computer uses Windows 10, not sure if this may cause said issues.

This also forced me to remove navigation locks from all tabs since it was causing duplicates when trying to force a refresh.

Questions / Re: Prefer embedded artist pictures when grouped by artist
« on: April 17, 2018, 02:01:32 AM »
Yes I did, Main Panel set as *Artists* group by *Album Artist*. I set *Show Tracks* to appear below at the bottom of the list.
Thinking back on it all maybe it makes sense, since I clicked an artists thumbnail, which in essence selects all tracks within, and pressed Ctr+V to paste the image in the clipboard, since context menu only has playback related.

This probably pastes the image to all selected tracks, overwriting is unfortunate but probably default behavior.

No harm done in any case, I easily recovered from backup.

Ah yes, pasting over the thumbnail browser works as described. Would be nice if MusicBee read embedded artist pictures by default before trying to download new ones.

Anyway this already helps, thanks for the explanation

Hum interesting wasn't aware of that.

However in my case I tried over a missing artist picture thumbnail and experienced a different result. The thumbnail remained missing after pasting, and it seemed to past to the media files instead, even overwriting my current album art and replacing it with the new picture.

Anyway thanks for the feedback

Questions / Prefer embedded artist pictures when grouped by artist
« on: April 16, 2018, 07:11:24 PM »
Is there a way to tell MusicBee to prefer embedded artists pictures as thumbnail for tracks grouped by artists instead of downloaded ones?

I often manually load better quality artwork form the internet I then embed into my media files, like album covers, artists photos etc.
Is there a way to tell MusicBee to prefer those as group thumbnails in the main panel grouped view, instead of downloading new ones from the internet? Some times non can be found and an empty thumbnail is shown when there is an available picture in the files.

Could not find anything under User Preferences > Layout (1) > Main Panel > Customize Layout > Artwork > When Albums are grouped by artist, maybe I missed something or I'm looking in the wrong place.

Thanks for the help

Ah that makes sense probably accidentally pressed some key while waiting to open the side panel.
Thanks for the quickfix :)

Bug Reports / Index was outside the bounds of the array
« on: July 02, 2017, 04:09:24 AM »
I can't quite remember what I was doing at the moment, but I think what triggered this error by renaming an autoplaylist from the left sidebar while it was simultaneously opened in the current active tab. MusicBee didn't crash, it kept working happily afterwards, just displayed the error message below.

Code
MusicBee v3.1.6388.33699 (Win6.1), 1 jul 2017 5:09:

Not sure if this is enough info to diagnose the problem or not, if you need any additional details let me know.
Are these error reports even remotely useful, or should I just not post them at all? If not don't bother, I'll just shut up.

BTW, on a side note, congrats on the 3.0 series, just started using them today for the first time, beautiful UI redesign ;)

Isn't that just kind of like a line numbering of the list?
Sorting does nothing because that's already the sorting order they are already on. Not sure though

Neat, it's nice to have this documented and readable somewhere.
