Plugins / Additional Plugins Tools and MusicBee Error
« on: April 25, 2020, 03:43:58 PM »
How to get rid of this annoying error? I searched the forum, but I understand nothing of what I found about it.

"Some tag names are duplicated". Plugin is not properly initialized.

Sorry, I have no clue.

I had to turn off that plugin because of this error.

Hopefully, I can find the answer because this is a really helpful and great plugin.

Questions / Re: two functions in the sub-grouping header

Great thanks! The artist name still appears on the first line of the disc name. I assume this cannot be removed, can it? Some names are long enough to make it look messy etc. and the disc seperation loses the whole effect.

Is this closer to what you want?
Code
$If(<Track#>=1,$If(<Disc Count>>1,$IsNull(<Set Subtitle>,"• Disc "<Disc#>" •","• Disc "<Disc#>" • "<Set Subtitle>" •"),$IsNull(<Set Subtitle>,<Artist>,"• "<Set Subtitle>" •")),<Artist>)

If it's a multidisc album, it will split with • Disc # • sub-header, all tracks except first track have Artist sub-header.

If a multidisc album with subtitle, it will split with • Disc # • Set Subtitle • sub-header, all tracks except first track have Artist sub-header.

If a single disc item with subtitle, it will display • Set Subtitle • above first track, all other tracks have Artist sub-header.

If no subtitle and single disc, all tracks have Artist sub-header.

Great thanks! This is very helpful. If I have more questions, I will let you know later!

I'm unclear on what you want to accomplish. The artist appears because of the <Artist> tag, but you will need the tag to be there to "divide" the subgrouping by artist. There's no other way to do so. Does removing the <Artist> tag and sorting by <Track> and <Artist> give you your desired result?

This solution gave me a lot of mess.

What I would like to achieve:

Disk 1: Name of the Disk

- Track(s)

Subdivide it by another subtitle

- Tracks(s)

Subdivide it by another subtitle

- Tracks(s)

Disk 2: Name of the Disk

- Track(s)

Subdivide it by another subtitle

- Tracks(s)

Subdivide it by another subtitle

- Tracks(s)

etc.

Is this possible to achieve?

Questions / Re: Why are some tags not displayed?

Some screenshots would be helpful. Have you looked at the tag inspector to verify if Picard actually inserted any tags.

Solved. I defined a tag code in the custom tags etc. The problem was that MB needed to re-scan the library to make them show etc.

You have to adjust the formula so MB knows to only display the discs and subtitle for track #1.
Try this:
Code
<Artist>$If(<Track#>=1,$If(<Disc Count>>1,$IsNull(<Set Subtitle>,"• Disc "<Disc#>" •","• Disc "<Disc#>" • "<Set Subtitle>" •"),$IsNull(<Set Subtitle>,,"• "<Set Subtitle>" •")),)

Great thanks! The artist name still appears on the first line of the disc name. I assume this cannot be removed, can it? Some names are long enough to make it look messy etc. and the disc seperation loses the whole effect.

So, you're trying to sort (divide) the subgroupings by artist, without having the <Artist> tag appear in the subgrouping header?

I just copied the code from another thread. I have no idea about the simplest coding.

Please let me know if you know how to divide both - the artists and dics - without including the artist in the first line of the album etc.

Questions / Re: Embbeding multiple song and album covers in batch
« on: April 15, 2020, 01:23:51 PM »
The files need to have the same artwork existing (or no artwork).  Otherwise, it needs to be done one file at a time.

Too bad because each file has a different artwork because it is a "various artists" album.

They are usually the most problematic and time-consuming. It would be nice if MB had more support in this regard.

Thanks for letting me know! I get it now.

Select the files
Right click -> Edit (or Shift+Enter)
Artwork Tab
Go to the first *blank* artwork slot, drag and drop image, right-click and paste or click the "Add" button

Unfortunately, after selecting files of that particular album, there is no second blank slot. There is only one slot. If I select one file, there are two slots. No idea.

Questions / Embbeding multiple song and album covers in batch
« on: April 15, 2020, 01:27:38 AM »
Is there a way to embed multiple covers in batch to files? How do we do it?

I just lost all album artwork that MB overwrote. I thought it would add a cover. Instead it deleted all images from the album.

Questions / Why are some tags not displayed?

I used Picard to download some tags, which cannot be displayed, for instance, original date/year. Is there a solution for that?

@ wirtual82
What formula are you using for your combined sub-grouping header?

This one:

$If(<Disc Count>">1",$IsNull(<Set Subtitle>,"• Disc "<Disc#>" •","• Disc "<Disc#>" • "<Set Subtitle>" •"),$IsNull(<Set Subtitle>,,"• "<Set Subtitle>" •"))

then I just added <Artist> before it.

Questions / two functions in the sub-grouping header
« on: April 12, 2020, 09:33:04 PM »
I would like to use two functions in the sub-grouping header:

To display discs and subtitle and then divide the album by artists (composers) etc.

They work OK seperately.

But when I combine them, the disk and subtitle is repeated with each artist

How to get rid of those repeated album names and disks and leave it only once at the beginning of the albums like intended?

Thanks for your help!

Here is the screenshot:

MusicBee Wishlist / Menu button
« on: February 11, 2017, 11:24:30 PM »
I'd like to say that Musicbee is currently the best audio manager, but the question is can we hide the main menu button, the one with "musicbee" text? I do not like the way it looks, and it simply takes space, too. Please give us this possibility in the next update. Great thanks!
