Bug Reports / Re: Error while updating any tags & then saving
« on: April 06, 2020, 09:44:53 AM »
I was updating the "Year (yyyy)" and the link is https://imgur.com/a/nXa588F (had posted this in the last post as well).

The file itself I have already rectified with external tools. Dont have the one which caused error.

MusicBee Wishlist / Queuing edit tags as a task as well
« on: April 06, 2020, 06:40:05 AM »
Hi,

For new album/ compilations addition, while in the inbox, I regularly use the 3 features - Analyse Volume, Update lyrics and Edit Tags - in no specific order. The first two become background tasks and are queued sequentially but the 3rd gets executed immediately.

I think, this sometimes corrupts the media file or information is overwritten/ lost, when one of the queued task is underway and edit tag is executing in the foreground - trying to update the same file.

Could the edit tags also be queued up and errors queued up in the action center requested in another post. The user can then take corrective action later as needed.

Bug Reports / Error while updating any tags & then saving
« on: April 06, 2020, 06:08:33 AM »
Hi,

Just updated year for an album in the media library and its giving this error while trying to save every single file. How can I avoid this?

Also this error, occurring for every file is popping up a dialogue box for each such error, requiring the user to click repeatedly. Can this also be queued up in action center kind of functionality, also requested in a wishlist post today.

The error is same as another post today, hence using the same link.

MusicBee Wishlist / Virtual Device on network - unavailability error
« on: April 06, 2020, 04:36:38 AM »
Hi,

I am consciously posting this message in wishlist and not in bug section.

Please refer this error. I understand that MB is periodically checking for availability of the virtual device as the auto sync for the virtual device is enabled in it's settings. With this enabled and disconnection of the virtual device on a network location, this error crops up multiple times requiring as many clicks as there are these error messages.

Could we have sort of an action center, where these messages are accumulated for the user to act on when he gets to it? For now, I am trying disabling the auto sync. Thanks.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have my music files repository (this is where the MusicBee moves files to when I choose "send to > Library" from Inbox) on a network location (1) AND I have a location on my Android media box shared over network (2) as a virtual device. On the MusicBee PC - where the Library itself is hosted, these two locations - (1) is mapped to N: and (2) is mapped to Q: .

Now, while sending albums/ tracks to these virtual device randomly produces this error a lot. The media files play fine though. Is there something wrong with my setup?

Please suggest a resolution.

Artwork handling has more issues:

1. When changing or removing artwork, many times this error is encountered.

2. This one I missed capturing screenshot of and I am yet to reproduce it but when you have multiple artwork embedded (something that I am moving away from), and later when I navigate to the "artwork" tab while editing tags, it reports <n> images got corrupted or inaccessible. From this point on, I am unable to access these artwork for removal. Most of the times MP3tag also fails, I have multiple files with such artwork embedded with slightly bloated size.

Is it the embedded specification for opus files that is weak coz I see multiple softwares failing or unable to handle it elegantly?

Hi,

I inadvertently added very high resolution artwork on an album while editing the tags. Realized while the files were being updated (3 out of 12) and tried to stop it. Once it stopped, it gave an error that artwork corrupted ... this was for 3rd file, it's file size remained normal as if its without those high resolution artwork. So, I tried editing the tags and remove the artworks for first 2 files, successfully removed them and saved them.

However, this is where the issue starts - the 2 file's size suggests that those high res artwork are still embedded basis file size but MusicBee tag editor shows no artwork. See here

I downloaded MP3tag v3.01, which is able to show the artwork and allowing to delete, though extremely slow.

Thanks

MusicBee Wishlist / Lyrics support for Bollywood Music
« on: April 03, 2020, 06:35:52 AM »
Hi Steven/ Sr Members,

Currently, MusicBee supports the lyrics being pulled from 1:LyricWiki, 2:chartlyrics.com, 3:LoloLyrics (perhaps also searches in that order) and there is also Gracenote, which is disabled by default. However, none of them has lyrics of Bollywood (Indian Hindi Movies) music.

Thus, I was wondering if more search engines could be added to support this requirement. Please comment.

Thanks.

Questions / Re: 'In' and 'outside' MusicBee
« on: April 02, 2020, 03:30:21 PM »
Hi,

Just want to share that I was experiencing the same error, even without multiple libraries and I fixed it with a simple change - perhaps this is unique to the setup I have. Sharing for community benefit. My setup:

1. While, the PC has the MusicBee Library, my scanned folders (media files repository) are temporarily hosted on LAN on an Android media box, over samba.

2. However, Android or a media player running on it - inbuilt or PowerAmp seems to be updating  these files, even though PowerAmp is not configured for this specific folder hosting the repository.

3. All I did is that I made the root folder of the repository "hidden" and since then I am not getting the "The file(s) being edited have been updated outside of Musicbee - you might have to rescan..." notice.

4. The final intended location for the repository is a linux based NAS box, where this sort of touching is unlikely.

Ahoj - I'm the freshman.
I decided to switch to a new (more stable) musicplayer.

So literally the VERY FIRST feature I tried to figure out was the "minimize to tray on close" function.

Well I ended up here... and i have to say I'm quite a bit shocked to realize this feature hasn't been implemented for the past 7 years.
Though MusicBee is recommended and decsribed as nicely designed throughout the web... though it kills my well trained UX.

Yeah, if the dev could add a checkbox which swaps out the "X" function, that'd be nice. And definetly helps with the "Ah f**k man, sorry folks I accidentally closed the musicplayer ... AGAIN." - issue.

Reurning to MusicBee after a while, This post reminds me of my earlier request for the same feature request here, way back in 2016: https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=17841.msg106942#msg106942.

So, +1 definitely ... please.

Questions / Minimize instead of close
« on: March 08, 2016, 02:39:56 PM »
Hi

Is there anyway to configure MB to minimize instead of close (windows close control) AND the user in such a case can close the MB from the systray icon > Close Application? Actually, I close MB many times when I actually intended to just minimize and hide, which is already configured.

Questions / Quick Track
« on: March 08, 2016, 02:35:11 PM »
Hi,

Under Systray Icon > Quick Track, "by Artist" and "by Album" ... both show filtered values from the Music Library only but "by Genre" shows values based on both Libray and Inbox. Feel that the same should also be from Library only.
