Questions / Re: Using Musicbee to its full potential
« on: September 25, 2015, 10:39:41 PM »

Picard is helpful for this.  I think it would take a lot of configuring to tag just original year and nothing else. Message me if you want to try it.

I pretty much do it manually, since the dates I want aren't based on the album.

I´m working with picard. But since lastfm had a relaunch the lastfmplus plugin does not work anymore. But also in this plugin the original year tag didn´t work.
I found the lastfmng plugin that works for genre, mood, ...
But also not for the original year.

Edit: another option would be to tag the track with its original release info, but keep the compilation info in another tag.

Thats exactly what i want. But i don´t know how to face it!

@ psychoadept and Pingaware:
How do you tag the originialyear?

I have a lot of compilations and best of albums.
I didn´t find a tagging tool, that writes the original year for every track.

Can you help me?

Questions / Strange Genres from lastfm
« on: September 07, 2015, 02:25:02 PM »
Hi,

i tested to tag some songs with the autotagging-function of musicbee.

I tagged the titles of Alice Coopers "Raise your fist and yell" album and get this genres for all tracks: "Hard Rock; Heavy Metal; Disco; Rock; Dance"

The first problem: I wanted different tags for each track. Musicbee brings me different keywords for everey song. The genres from this keywords i want to have. How can i get them?

The second problem: Alice Cooper is definitely no "Disco" or "Dance" music! I wonder where these tags are coming from, because i can´t find any of these tags in the keywords-tag!

Any idea?

Questions / Lastfm Genre Tags per Track not per Album
« on: August 29, 2015, 09:03:23 PM »
Hi,
i tested the autotagging tool with lastfm.
The result was the same genres for one album.
I want to have different genres. For each track the genre from the lastfm-cloud. Is it possible to choose this?

Thank you!

Questions / Re: Changing separator for genres
« on: August 17, 2015, 06:41:17 PM »
Okay, don't know if anyone knows the program. It's named "radioanddj". It's freeware and i use it as dj on partys. I tagged the genre with musicbrainz picard and a plugin using lastfm tags. The tags are separated with ";"
Radioanddj is showing all the tags als i wish, e.g. "Rock;Classic Rock;Blues"

After changing any other tag with musicbee only the first Genre "Rock" was shown. Musicbee is doing something with the tag. I don't want that. I think there will be no Solution with radioanddj. Is it possible to choose some tags that don't get overwritten?

Or maybe some idea to change back from "\\" to ";" with mp3tag?

Questions / Changing separator for genres
« on: August 17, 2015, 09:56:52 AM »
Hi,
I´m new on MusicBee (coming from MediaMonkey) and like this programm.

I tagged my genres in this way: "Metal;Rock;Ballad"
When I change some (other) tags in MusicBee, then the genre is changing to this: "Metal\\Rock\\Ballad" (i find this out with mp3tag).

The problem is, that another programm now only shows me the first genre "Metal".

Is there any way to force MusicBee not to change existing genres? Otherwise any idea to change it back with mp3tag? I didn´t find a solution or the right action.

Thanks for your help
