Is there a MASTER VIDEO tutorial (or set of them) that walks through how one can/ should play with panels to find their IDEAL Music Bee ARRANGEMENT ? and SKIN Combo?

I'm not aware of a video, but this page covers most of the panels (a few have been added since it was updated last): https://musicbee.fandom.com/wiki/The_Anatomy_of_MusicBee

As for skins, go to the skins and try ones you like. They don't change MusicBee's functionality, just the appearance.

Big thanks. Will have to go through this at length.

What are the KEYS that make this happen? How do I enable this?

Look in Preferences > Hotkeys. You'll probably need to configure them.

Oh! Everything has to be configured. No defaults on this..

I am concerned if people mess up assigning these and if there is a Golden Standard or Set of Templates that people recommend / follow for MB keyboard short cuts?

I just assigned Ctrl + Shift + (Right/ Left / Down) for Tempo +10/-10/Reset.

https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee33_Patched.zip

Support for tempo control has been asked a few times in context of podcasts (and audiobooks). There has been a tempo dsp plugin for a long time but to make it easier to access, i have added the following hotkeys to increment the tempo by +/- 10%

Player: Tempo Decrease
Player: Tempo Increase
Player: Tempo Reset

Also this update includes a header bar menu command that instructs MusicBee to only show downloaded files

What are the KEYS that make this happen? How do I enable this?

There already are hotkeys for Player: Tempo Increase (10%) and Decrease (10%)

Can you please point to where this is documented for easy access? I seem to had to click many many times to get to this::

The equalizer has a native tempo plugin
Preferences -> Player -> Equaliser & DSP... -> [Lower Half]

Its too cumbersome and not easy to go up and down in tempo for any track.

Depends which way you've displayed it.
For the first way I described, you can right-click and set it to be any height you like.
I believe the second way is set by the skin.

Tried your way - Love it.

I just realizes I've never played extensively with Panels and always remained with default skins.

Is there a MASTER VIDEO tutorial (or set of them) that walks through how one can/ should play with panels to find their IDEAL Music Bee ARRANGEMENT ? and SKIN Combo?

If you could point me to that it'd be great. Thanks.

View > Arrange Panels > drag the Wavebar from the Available Elements list to one of the highlighted panel areas.

Or if the skin you're using supports it, you can right-click the playing controls pane, and select Panel Layout and Wave Bar from there to show the wave bar instead of the normal progress bar.

Thanks. Found it. Looks nice and clean.

Any way to make it LARGER - did a bit but is the Max height defined by the Skin?

StereoTool has also a command line interface.

Here is a Windows script, which allows you to process music files with StereoTool and a preset file, so you have a processed MP3 file as result, that you can play everywhere without StereoTool processing it:

https://github.com/BreakingPoint/SISTERAP

Its description is talking about video files as source, but you can also drop MP3, OGG, WAV or any other format that FFMPEG processes onto it.

The command line version of StereoTool 7.40 can be downloaded here:
http://www.stereotool.com/download/stereo_tool_cmd_740.exe

Very interesting. Would try and connect back with questions / thoughts.

Something along the lines of what is currently used by SounCloud would be great:

How to get something like this to be visible and seekable? Now?

Questions / Re: checking BPM tags against BPM database
« on: February 20, 2020, 04:15:41 AM »
It's right, you should not assume that BPM databases are accurate. In fact, it's impossible to be 100% accurate, no matter how hard you try (not to mention songs with tempo changes, or those without a steady tempo, etc.).

But it's wrong to say all services rely on the exact same algorithm. BPM detection is done by detecting relevant beats, that's the only thing such services have in common. Such tools can be made in JS, C#, Python, etc. The logic behind them is the same, but the way it is done isn't.

For example, we use Artificial Intelligence to work our magic. Basically this is done by training a neural network, feeding it with as many different songs as possible (needless to say you need to prepare such datasets first, which is time consuming). In short the more the NN trains, the more accurate becomes our algorithm. And it has nothing to do with the one Traktor uses (even if some bpm-finding services use the same open-source scripts).
For this reason we update the script behind our tools each time it trained. In the end results you get today won't necessarily be the same next year.

Of course, we can't update the whole db (that's just for new entries), but we encourage users to report bad tempos (it's a built-in feature since the beginning). We also perform manual checks (songs are then tagged as "verified"), but we don't do this a lot, we are just 2 working on gsbpm, and we prefer to focus on developing the site.

Hope this helps. Any help is greatly appreciated btw, feel free to can contact us if you're interested in verifying tempos (or even creating a MusicBee plugin thanks to our public API).

cheers

Interesting insights.

Would be open to hear how more people are doing this..

Bug Reports / Re: General overall problems - observations?
« on: July 09, 2016, 06:55:00 PM »
I have a suggestion or idea you can try.

Use Laptop over GbE instead of Wifi and try all 3 scenarios below.

Boot:
Direct baremetal from laptop - existing OS

Native boot VHD VM from laptop (Win 8 onwards or Win 7 Ult support Native Boots)

Music or new VM from laptop

Compare the 3. I am curious to see the output as well as I am going all VHD VM/ Native boot and might leverage your ideas as well in future.

Was this fixed? Is it because the Rockbox ed iPod Classic goes to sleep or some low power mode?

For anyone else stumbling across this thread, there is a fast solution outside of MusicBee:

Use Mp3Tag's Action feature to 'Import Cover From File'

========================================================
STEPS
(1) Select all track of interest in MusicBee
(2)  Drag selection from MB into an open window of Mp3Tag
(3)  In Mp3Tag, select all tracks
(4)  Use hotkey Alt-Shift-6 to open "Action (Quick)" Window
(5)  Select "Import Cover from File" and hit OK
(6)  For the format string, use "Folder.*" or "Cover.*" (the .* will find photos with JPG or PNG extensions)
(7)  You should check the box "Delete existing cover art" unless you want to risk duplicate embedded files.
(8) Hit OK
========================================================

I recently redid my entire library in a single, 12,000 track swoop.

Embedding the artwork to tracks is handy when sharing music to friends who still use iTunes.
It's satisfying to be 100% confident they get the artwork with the album.

Best of luck!

Nice. I am gonna try this out.

My laptop SSD has limited space and I'd rather not store lot of Music or Videos on it.

I'd like to keep all my Music on External Drives and managed them via Music Bee, which would be the "organizer" of the MEDIA on External disk and for the Playlists & other manipulation that needs to be done to Sync Files to iPhone (iOS 711/712 - Jailbroken) (via iTunes).

I do not wish iTunes to store MUSIC or VIDEO files inside it, since the APPS are already taking enough space.

Currently all my Music is on external drive and iPhone is empty.

Can this be done? If so, how?

PS: If the same can be done to manage VIDEO as well using some other program like Music Bee I'd love to know.
