I joined here back in 2015 to express my gratitude for MusicBee, and i'm just passing by now to repeat that. Still using it, still loving it. Still cannot be beaten.

Well, the option is already present... :)

Preferences
-> tab "General"
-> section "application"
-> minimise to: Notification Tray

Not quite what i wanted ;)

I use the mini player all the time and would like to still see that.
I just want to get musicbee off my taskbar and into the notification area in general.

But thanks for replying :)

I'm very happy with MusicBee and it's a major reason i even still use Windows at all (i know i can use it via wine, but that's another discussion), and over the years i've only ever really wanted one thing.

For musicbee to not appear on the taskbar, but to stay in the app draw/notification area

Please do let me know if i've been a big dumb-dumb and just missed the option...

Questions / Mini player large art missing from 3.0.5929?

Hi folks

Until i updated to 3.0.5929 i had the option of large album art in the mini player, but that seems to be gone now.

Am i missing something here?

I rolled back to 3_4_7495 and the option is there as expected.

and works as expected

I am angry with myself about how simple a fix that was.

Goddammit.

Thank you SO VERY MUCH!

Did you transfer settings and files from your previous installation? It sounds like maybe your username changed and it's looking under the old username. You should be able to fix that in library settings.

If that's not it, try copying or screenshotting the message you're getting so we can see it.

If you still have your old files backed up somewhere, this might help, too: https://musicbee.fandom.com/wiki/Backup_%26_Restore

So, i right click playlists, add new auto playlist, and MB throws an error about not being able to find a file via specified path in User folder - Because i re-installed my PC.

I can deal with my playlists being gone, but i need to be able to make them again.
What i can't deal with is starting fresh and trying to get things back to how i like them. Honestly feeling like a deal-breaker right now.

Have i missed an easy option to force all configs etc to be in the MB portable directory? All i've seen is various options to export this and that config, nothing central and nothing in settings.

Help would be massively appreciated as i've been using MB for years and the thought of a fresh start has me considering a change of player.

I've since fixed the issue, and will update the first post.

It was my audio driver. The windows driver for my audio chip was to blame. I downloaded and installed my motherboard manufacturers audio driver and it's solved the problem.

If its still doing it then i would say the change made no difference and it was just down to chance. My guess is you will need to update the sound device driver from the manufacturer as it may have been updated by the windows generic one in the last windows update.

Fair point. I'll try that now.

Well, some hours later and it's only just done it. I'd say -while not fixed- it's a massive improvement.

This was just a couple of days ago so you'd probably remember.  He'd also recently received a Windows update.  So it sounds like this may be an issue with that update.  I've had it and am having no issues, though.  So it's not everyone.  I'm on 3.2.6737

Ahh, not me, then!

I'm running 3.2.6735 which i installed yesterday.

Scratch that. Back to DirectSound as WASAPI is exclusive and that's annoying.

Also enabled 32bit output (well, changing to DS did that), and have set tracks to cache in memory to see if that helps.
