Questions / Re: Replace track artist label in 'Album and Tracks' view
« on: July 25, 2021, 08:22:38 PM »
But the way this is presented in the UI is hardcoded I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong). The compact grid is not very flexible in general.

Ok, that's what I was wondering. I understand where the artist/album artist field is coming from  ;)  but I was hoping to have a whole other tag displayed there instead.

Questions / Replace track artist label in 'Album and Tracks' view
« on: July 08, 2021, 07:20:19 PM »
Could someone please tell me where I can find the configuration for the track settings in 'Album and Tracks' view? I would like to replace the track-artist label (visible on albums with a different album artist) with some other information but I cannot find any reference to this setting whatsoever.

Just bumping this since I just ran into this issue which is still not fixed two years later.

Oh, that's a nice solution indeed. Thanks for the suggestion!

But how can you set another tag field for a comparison? As far as I can tell filters work just like smart playlists.

MusicBee Wishlist / Allow us to use two fields for comparison

Due to a hiccup while bulk-editing tags I ended up with a lot of entries where the Artist field's content is different from the Artist:Artist field. I wanted to use a smart playlist to find all tracks affected but unfortunately smart playlists only allow to compare a field's content against a fixed string but not the contents of another field.

Any way this could be added to a future version of MB?

I guess that will do for now. Praise the search & replace Gods.   ;)

3.1.6442 and it still happens.

It only seems to happen in the editor window. When displaying the Artist: Performer column in the Album & Tracks view it looks correct.

Downloaded the one in your signature just to make sure (3.1.6442) - still happens.

Bug Reports / Problems when parsing brackets in musician names
« on: August 22, 2017, 11:45:08 PM »
To be able to separate between different artists sharing the same name I have adopted the Discogs naming scheme, adding additional numbers in brackets to an artist's name. This worked fine until the upgrade to v3.1 (3.1.6426)

In the example below I have added a performer credit for "Gavin Dunne (2)" which gets correctly listed in the Peformer column. However, when opening the artist window again the "(2)" gets cut off and parsed to the role field even though the tag is still correctly present according to the tag browser.

When I switch to text display the entry gets (in)correctly displayed as "Gavin Dunne: 2" as well.

This seems to be a display problem only, though. When I add an additional artist to the list Gavin Dunne is saved as "Gavin Dunne (2)" again.

[edit] A bit of further testing showed that this only happens when using the "Performer" credit. When adding an artist as "Guest Artist" for example it will still be listed correctly next time.

When adding musician credits to songs it sometimes happens that the overall total number of credited tracks is higher than the number of tracks. This seems to happen if an artist is credited for more than one role.

As you can see above, the album in question has 13 tracks on which Sascha Konietzko is credited multiple times for different roles (drums, synth, vocals etc.) but he gets credited on 14 tracks in total.

Strangely enough it seems to be right for the others, including Chris Harms who gets double credits on two songs yet has the correct sum of 11 tracks attributed to him.

No, still gives me the same error and tells me it contains links to HTML pages rather than audio files.

It says "l=4"

I tried deleting and readding the one Patreon podcast I sucessfully added before but that does not work anymore either. Furthermore it only seems to write this error into the log the first time I tried to add a podcast, but not for subsequent tries.

What also changed is that MB does not fetch the podcast's information which it did before despite not being able to add it to my subscriptions.
