Questions / Editing Dynamic Playlist to New Mapped Nas
« on: November 12, 2017, 10:27:39 AM »
So got a new Nas and trying to figure out how to change the drive letter in all my dynamic playlists to the location of the new Nas. Old one was S:/ and new one is X:/.
Tried manually doing it through wordpad and notepad but seems to corrupt the file.

Any suggestions?

Hey Steven,

Tried the patch version and unchecked auto-save as you specified. Haven't had any freezing since. Might set auto-save to on again to see if that's the cause.

Seems usually happens if I'm editing and then saving tags or using file organiser (ctrl + r). Analysing files notification sometimes seems stuck.

Will try get that settings file to you shortly.

Freezing going on for quite a few months, using 3.1.6466.

Here's the error log:

EDIT Noticed a few others having this freezing type problem. Only antivirus is Windows Defender. Might try 3.0 to see if still get the problem.

MusicBee Wishlist / Navigating Drop-down Albums with Artist View
« on: May 05, 2017, 11:22:49 PM »
When using artist view where an artist has multiple albums that go beyond the display area, you are presented with forward and backward buttons to scroll to the right to display the other albums.

1. Instead of just displaying one row of the albums and having to click the buttons to scroll undisplayed abums, why not have further rows to display all the artist's albums on the screen?

2. If not feasible, would be great if there was some way of clicking and holding down the left mouse button just above any of the albums and using the middle mouse button to scroll along the albums.

Questions / Editing MBP Playlists Problem
« on: December 31, 2016, 01:13:23 PM »
File paths have changed for a lot of my albums after doing a folder cleanup. I've tried editing my MBP playlists in notepad to batch change the folder directory locations but MB didn't recognise the newly saved MBP playlist. So I tried Wordpad instead to edit the playlist and while MB did recognise the playlist this time, my files were still reported as missing when trying the play them.

Any ideas on how one can edit MBP playlists to change directory locations for files? I'd rather avoid going through every single file within MB one by one to locate them!

Thanks to anyone who can help  :)

+1 for player layout / settings backup (as opposed to library backup)

With all the customisation and toolbar shortcuts I've tweaked, it becomes a bit of onerous to have to replicate them all on my other PC's!

Fantastic skin, really like it!

If there's only one request, it's that there's no really dark / black skin. The closest is Outer Space. Maybe consider this at some stage!

Bug Reports / File Organiser Crash
« on: July 11, 2016, 07:21:30 PM »
When I try to manually re-organise files via ctrl-R, it starts to hang when reorganising the first file. Happens nearly all the time.
Not sure exactly when this started but been happening for the last few patches (including 10).

I still had my old Musicbee3.exe beta in the MB directory and when using that, file reorganisation performs without any problem.

Questions / Re: Sorting By Date Added / Modified Problem
« on: June 11, 2016, 11:25:53 PM »
I'm not sure, sorting by date added still keeps all the tracks within each album in the correct order (all the tracks have the same date & time added hence MB must subsequently default to track# to sort), however its just the albums which are not listed in the correct order. Some new albums I've added a day or two ago are appearing at the bottom of the list.

The other thing is that if I select the Tracks view, then everything is correctly sorted via date added. If you go back to album / tracks view and you click on any field to sort eg track# or Track Title, everything is correctly sorted numerically or alphabetically. It just seems limited to date added / modified that things aren't sorted properly. Pulling out my hair trying to find a pattern as to why this is happening!

Questions / Sorting By Date Added / Modified Problem
« on: June 11, 2016, 07:16:26 PM »
Having difficulty getting albums to sort by when I added them to my library.

For example, I've created a normal non-dynamic playlist to which I drag and drop new albums I've bought (I do this to standardize metadata first before adding them to my library). I use Album & Tracks and Album Covers as the viewing option. I have sort enabled for Date Modified and no grouping. However, albums are not being properly sorted by Date Added or Modified. It's almost like there's some other sort order going on first which which subsequently uses the date added. Albums for me are sorted a bit like this:

Album 1 June 10
Album 2 June 09
Album 3 June 08
Album 4 June 10
Album 5 June 09

Assume I'm missing something obvious here?

I have quite a few playlists as tabs but as the list gets longer and longer, I still use the sidebar or playlist manager for accessing the rest of my playlists. It got me wondering why there's no way to rearrange the order of playlists either in the sidebar or the playlist manager.

Something I also think would be great is an option to create a blank space to go between playlists (or certainly between smart and normal playlists etc). Visually, it's a small touch but makes for faster and easier recognition of what playlist you want to use.
