Hey all,

I have two Windows 10 machines (desktop + laptop) and want to keep MusicBee perfectly synced between them. I have a large amount of storage on Google Drive that can easily accommodate all my music, so I'm thinking that would be the best system to do that, as it auto-syncs between the two computers.

My question is, what settings would I need to tweak to do that?

At the moment, I have MusicBee auto-organize my library when I import tracks, and I have those settings identical on both computers, so the file structure in Google Drive is the same. That doesn't sync my settings though - things like the Last.FM "Loved" status on tracks don't carry over. I haven't used the "Move Library" button under "Preferences > Library", and that mentions the MusicBee database. Would that do the trick if I pointed both installations of MusicBee to the same location in Google Drive? If not, what would be the best way to achieve perfect synchronicity between both installations of MusicBee?

Thanks in advance!

Hey all,

Is it possible to copy the header layouts I have for one view / playlist to another? When I create a new playlist or switch from "Inbox" to "Music", etc. the columns of displayed info all change and rearrange themselves. I don't want them all to be identical as each type of media has different needs but I would like to be able to easily duplicate the ones that should be the same.

Thanks!

Hey all,

In the attempt to minimize apps I use to prepare my songs, both for DJing and just for home use, I wanted to get an understanding of how MusicBee's built in Volume Analysis tool works in comparison to MP3Gain, the popular alternative.

Specifically, does MusicBee write the tags the same way MP3Gain does? I like that I can normalize everything via MP3Gain and then drop the track into Traktor (my DJ software) or any other decent music player (MusicBee included) and it will read it at the level MP3Gain set. I also like that MP3Gain will show me my exact volume values.

In respects to MusicBee, how does it write the tags? I'd prefer not to permanently edit my files, which is also nice about MP3Gain, but I want to be able to know that once I've set them, it's good across all programs. Does MusicBee do this, or just somehow make it so that MusicBee knows the Replay Gain changes but other apps won't pick it up? Also, is it possible to see the values in MB like you can in MP3Gain? If I can set up MusicBee to do everything the same way MP3Gain does, I'd much rather just use MusicBee.

Thanks,

MusicBee Wishlist / Always select a cover photo if one is available.
« on: January 11, 2011, 12:48:57 AM »
I think it'd be cool if, when looking at your library sorted by Artist view (where you can see one of the album covers, and then more when you scroll over the photo) that MusicBee should always search for available artwork, even if the first album under the artist doesn't have one.

For example, I have an artist where I have some albums with cover art, and some without. I think MusicBee just grabs whatever album art is associated w/ the first album in the list. If that album doesn't have art, the default photo for the artist is the generic missing artwork art. Would it be possible for MusicBee to skip that album and opt to show the album cover for another album so as to avoid the generic artwork when looking at the Library w/ Artist view? It is only a cosmetic change, but it will make the Library prettier :)

Thanks, loving this program more and more every day. My music collection has never been this well organized and ready to rock.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Removing MP3/FLAC Dupes

How does the program determine dupes? Is it based only on name? If so, live versions, etc. are going to be a problem. Or does it compare length, etc. to determine?

MusicBee Wishlist / Make the "File Organiser" window expandable.
« on: December 16, 2010, 12:11:53 AM »
It'd be good if the File Organizer window could be expanded, and have side-scrolling bars. I can't easy see the changes in file names when some of the file paths are longer.

Awesome program BTW. Just discovered it a few days ago. Been trying to learn it, but loving it so far.
