I use MusicBee to play albums in shuffle mode and i set it up that if a track has being played, it will be removed from the 'now playing queue' so that album doesn't get to being played again on a later date.

Since MusicBee 3.4. If i restart the program due for example, rebooting my PC and let the track play where i left off that was not the final track on the album, MusicBee plays a different album after that track has finished. This doesn't happen after that until i restart MusicBee again.

Due to this problem, the now playing queue has some half-played albums instead of only albums i haven't played yet after i finish listening to an album.

I'm currently using the latest MusicBee 3.4 patch (3.4.7731) at the moment and the issue is still there.

MusicBee Version: 3.3.7056

I've got a lot of OPUS files that have R128 tags in it (the Replay Gain tags for OPUS files) that play with way lower volume than FLAC and MP3 files with Replay Gain files does. The Replay Gain properties under file properties with both OPUS, FLAC and MP3 are around the same. So the opus with -12db Replay Gain in Opus (with the R128 tags) has a way lower volume than -12db FLAC and MP3 does.

I don't have this issue in foobar2000. So it seems MusicBee reads the R128 and Replay Gain values different. I do have read that the R128 tag support is properly implemented as per spec as i've read here: https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=26954.msg151667#msg151667. But this does mean that with a mixed codec library like i have some albums will be way quieter than others which i use Replay Gain for in the first place: To get everything at the same volume.

To repoduce this, get a album in FLAC, convert it to OPUS and send both version to the Volume Analysis. Play then a track from the OPUS version for a minute and switch then to the FLAC version. The FLAC version should be louder than the OPUS version.

If you need more information, please let me know.

Thanks.

When i was testing OPUS encoding i saw that the OPUS encodes have replay gain tags even after removing and analyzing their volumes again. This means i cant play OPUS files with the lowered gain in foobar2000 for example as that music player uses R128 for OPUS.

Is this a feature that needs to be added or can i toggle this in the settings somewhere?

Sometimes i find a radio station i would like to play on MusicBee, i normally download the playlist from the radio's website and import this into the radio section of the library so i can scrobble the music that the radio plays. The thing is, there's no easy way to import the playlists to the radio library. In many cases is this in m3u of pls files. While MusicBee can read those playlist fine by dragging the playlist into the playlists section, but i can't easily select those streams and put them in the Radio library from both inside and outside MusicBee.

I would like to have this function something like this:
If you open a m3u of pls playlist or any playlist that has a radio stream in it (which you can see with a globe icon next the the name), give it a right-click option to send that stream to the radio library. This option should be in the "Send to" section of the right-click menu.
Adding drag-and-drop support of this function could be a bonus for more convenience.

Also, the import function of the radio library, which you can access by right-clicking the radio icon in the library panel, could also have support for those playlists so you can easily import every radio station in the radio library. This should only accept the radio streams in those playlists.

I hope this suggestion is clear enough to implement this feature.

I noticed that last.fm artwork grabber only gives the down/upscaled 300x300 artwork instead of the original version of the uploaded artwork on last.fm.

Currently i use Album Art Downloader to get the last.fm artwork which does get the original uploaded artwork from last.fm but downloads the uncompressed png most of the time. There's a jpg version of this but it's noticeably compressed like it's saved via paint.

If the last.fm artwork grabber can be changed, i would like it be change so that it grabs the original artwork instead of the 300x300 version. If musicbee can convert png files to jpg it would be nice if it's downloading the uncompressed png version and convert it to jpg with less compression. If not, the grabber can download the compressed jpg version.

As the title explains, if you select one or a few suggested genres in the multiple genre splitter, it adds every suggested genre that's listed instead of the genres you've selected to add.

Here's a picture explaining the bug: http://i.imgur.com/7UyABQS.png

Also, if click on the minus and plus buttons next to an empty genre field in the multiple genre splitter gives you an error. The minus and plus buttons have a different kind of error.

Note: The errors are in dutch as that is the language of my operating system.

The error when using the minus button:

EDIT: I've also tested this on the latest Musicbee patch (3.1.6442) and it still has those bugs.

As someone that uses multiple monitors, here's a bug i encountered when tagging music on MusicBee.

When right clicking the cover in the tag edit menu, the right click menu sticks to the monitor where MusicBee running. Other right click menu's in the the tag edit menu doesn't gave this issue.

Here's a screenshot of what i'm talking about:

When using the "Move to organizing folder" function on Musicbee 3, It stalls at the first song. That song is successfully moved to the new folder but the whole operation stays at "Organizing...". I can close the window of the operation but Musicbee stalls after that. I can only close Musicbee via task manager and sometimes the close button. Musicbee gives me that the operation is still going when i can do the latter.

The "Copy to organizing folder" function isn't affected. The issue is most likely that Musicbee can't delete the music files from the source folder. The source folder wasn't locked by any other processes.

My Musicbee version is: 3.0.6079.

Navigation through the Now Playing playlist isn't very pleasing. There isn't a way to go through the results of the search as it only selects the first result.

If you search though the Now Playing panel (you can do that by typing the search in the panel), you can cycle through the results with the "Next" button in the search bar itself. This button should also be in the search bar when searching the Now Playing playlist. There should be also a hotkey for that button if there isn't any.

This would searching through the Now Playing playlist much easier and people (and me) need to use the Now Playing assistant for the sole purpose for searching a song in it.

10
As the title suggests. Is there a way to make the quicksearch bar in the "Now Playing" playlist work like the search function in the "Now Playing Assistant" function? I don't like the first result way which limits searching some songs for me.

I've got a request for the sound effect "remove silence at start and end of track". Could you also make an option to remove silence within the track? This is very handy for tracks with hidden tracks. These tracks has mostly a very long silence sequence in the middle of the whole track.
Here's an example of what i mean:

For the minimal seconds of silence for the silence removal to kick in, i think that 5 seconds is enough. It's preferable if there's an option to set the minimal second of silence if 5 seconds is not enough.

As last i would if this option could be implemented, that it doesn't require to enable the "remove silence at start and end of track" option. I don't use that option myself since it can skip a few seconds of the beginning or the ending in some songs. Maybe it's also an idea to revamp that option with the implementation of the requested feature.

MusicBee Wishlist / Support for MIDI playback
« on: December 26, 2011, 09:24:48 PM »
This option keeps me away from Musicbee for a couple of months and since there's a file called "bassmidi.dll" in the Musicbee folder, why don't make it functional?

Thanks,

Cypher

MusicBee Wishlist / Better skip silence funtion?
« on: November 20, 2010, 08:46:55 AM »
I know that we can skip the silence at the beginning and the start.
But i want a better skip silence funtion, like that from Foobar2000, that you can configure this function and skips the silence in the song too.
Like this:

Can you make this function like this?

Thanks, Cypher
