Hello everyone,

It's been quite some time since I last posted, but still enjoying this wonderful music player! After a recent version upgrade, I've been unable to find the command which prevents auto play when clicking on an album cover. My previous set up allowed me to see tracks when an album cover is single clicked, without automatically starting play on the first track. In this way I could continue listening to one album whilst perusing tracks on others. Hoping some fine learned member or two can assist me with this query.

Cheers!

Questions / Older Portable Version / Left to Right Swipe
« on: June 06, 2016, 11:37:20 PM »
Hello there!

Just wondering where I can download the last portable 2.5 version. Never received a response to my previous post, will a left to right main panel navigation ever be implemented for touch screen monitors/music server?

Cheers!

Questions / Left/Right Swipe Navigation Touchscreen Monitor
« on: March 31, 2016, 02:42:51 AM »
Just wondering if there is a setting within Music Bee for Main Panel that will allow left/right navigation (as opposed to up/down) of my artwork? I have a new ASUS PC based touch screen monitor, and it sure would be nice to swipe left right instead of up/down.

Cheers!

Questions / Disable Scan on Startup
« on: March 01, 2016, 05:32:36 AM »
Have been using Music Bee for several years now and still think it's awesome software.

I'm wondering however if there is a way to disable scanning for new files on startup -I have always had the problem of stuttering output while MB scans my rather large library of 10 TB -every time I start MB I must wait quite some time before I can play any music uninterrupted. I have of course increased the buffer size. It would be nice if MB could scan for new files only when I have added something to my library, and only when I want it to.

Cheers!

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I last logged in to the forum ...... have been using and enjoying MB without a hitch for a long time, and couldn't be happier!

Recently purchased a small computer running Windows 8.1 -Had Music Bee installed, up and running in no time! I've selected an external high end USB DAC as an audio output, and this works superbly until I try to access Music Bee using Remote Desktop on my laptop -once logged in output stops completely, my USB DAC disappears from the list of audio devices under the player tab, and the only connect option is "Remote" which outputs MB via Remote Desktop to my laptop. I was hoping to be able to use Remote Desktop to control MB, but still output the audio to the USB DAC on the smaller stationary computer ....... kind of like an Apple airplay function. Does anyone have an idea if there are settings within Windows or MB that will continue to give me a full list of Connected Audio Devices even when I am connected via Remote Desktop?

Cheers and thanks in advance!

Questions / Output MB to Network DAC?
« on: November 07, 2013, 09:17:08 PM »
Hello everyone,

Hope I'm posting this question in the appropriate section of the forum. Since discovering Music Bee one year ago, I have never looked back; MB has become the heart and soul of my audiophile sound system and in my mind remains absolutely the best software available for archiving, organizing and enjoying digital media. I'm currently ripping and archiving my music on a Synology NAS, and use MB for transfer and playback via ethernet. For output to my sound system I use a Meridian USB DAC plugged into my laptop, which sounds fantastic but means I must always be hard wired and tethered to a cable and stereo system.

My question for the more technically inclined is this: since I can drawn digital data from my NAS to my laptop via Ethernet and /or my wireless network, is there not a way to send an output from MB or better still, using MB to control the digital stream from my NAS to a networked DAC, which could be permanently hardwired close to my sound system? I know that one can purchase Network Media Players that could be used this way, including Meridian's high-end Sooloos system (13 kilobucks), but these run on proprietary software with their own music management programs, and would not allow me to use MB to control playback and route it through the Media Players DAC.

My Synology NAS has several media servers built in (Plex and Synology) that can be output to a USB port on the back of the NAS and then on to my Meridian USB DAC, but again, these music managers are inferior to Music Bee. I have scoured the Internet looking for hardware that could do this, but have found none. One could purchase a wireless USB transmitter and receiver that can output from MB, but the built in DACs in these units sound terrible by comparison. In addition to this shortcoming, the bandwidth of a wireless connection will not allow higher resolutions than standard CD 44 KHz.  My existing arrangement approaches the sound quality of the 13 G  Meridian Sooloos system, at a fraction of the cost ...... I'd just like to use my beloved Music Bee without the wire tether to my HI-Fi system. I'm very open to members thoughts and suggestions.

Cheers!
