I am copying my data from 3.4 to 3.5. I understand "Mark as having no lyrics" is a MusicBee-specific feature and not metadata. But where is that data stored? I don't want to lose it as I move from 3.4 to 3.5. And if it's an issue, is there a way to see all the songs I tagged so I can change their lyrics manually? Or is there a way to make "Mark as having no lyrics" add a prompt into the lyrics metadata field? I am not looking to doing all this work finding and flagging these instrumental songs again. Thank you!

In MusicBee 3.5, when I try to jump to songs with keyboard presses, it just doesn't work. It usually ends up jumping to the same song. I can get it to almost work by pressing one of the letters at the top, but that eventually breaks. I can press every letter and they just end up greying out. "Enable multi-character searches" is on.

I don't understand what's going on. Doing this sorting by Artist, or Album has no problem. I can't use this if it's not going to work. It works fine in 3.4.

Just how I mentally sort my music. The artist "The Beatles" are under B, but the song "The Runner" is under T. I'd like MusicBee to reflect this, especially when I start looking for a "The" song and it's not there.

Thank you!

"No Lyrics" is easy to confuse with "No Lyrics Found", but they have two different meanings. I would prefer if I flag a song as "No Lyrics" that the lyric box shows [Instrumental]. Is there a way to do this somewhere in MusicBee or in a .ini file?

Thank you!

MusicBee Wishlist / Ability to sort by image like any other column.
« on: March 05, 2023, 09:19:51 AM »
I had made a misclick when tagging a song's album art, I don't know what it was, but a lot of songs got highlighted. I hit cancel, but it seems like some kind of change got made. I found a song in my library with that new album art that shouldn't have it. I can't quite find any search feature that will help me track down songs with that album art, so I think the ability to sort by album art would be nice. This way I could find the song with the artwork and hit the column sort button and see what else has it.

The "Inconsistent Album Artwork" feature does not cover this.

I don't think MusicBee or Windows has updated between this occurring and not occurring, so I don't know what is causing this. But I know that I can update a song and it will, essentially, delete the old file and create a new file. Which is a common tactic for handling updating files - except it is supposed to end the process by copying the metadata back over. Is anyone else experiencing this?

MusicBee Wishlist / Show Image File Sizes in File Edit -> Artwork tab.
« on: April 14, 2022, 10:02:56 AM »
Coming from MediaMonkey, this tab let you see the size of the embedded image. With MusicBee's ability to drag an image from the web onto the file, it becomes more important to know the size of this new image. I do not like embedding very large images, but with MusicBee there's no way for me to tell right now. Which means the time saving of dragging the image is erased by needing to save and inspect the image. I know hovering should show the file size, but sometimes it doesn't. I don't understand why. This might be viewed as unnecessary though, and I'd understand.

Thank you!

Right now in MusicBee the Tagging Tool is a powerful way to help keep your library organized. When it comes to lyrics, if you are saving your lyrics to the file it can show you which songs do not have saved lyrics. What I am requesting is the ability for it to tell you when the lyrics are too short. I figure 100 characters is plenty, though if people save their files with the "Instrumental" tag maybe less would be better, or maybe the option to filter out certain words.

Either way, I come across some tracks where there is data in the Lyrics section that is not lyrics. This would help you sort that and further keep things clean and organized.

Thank you!

MusicBee Wishlist / Option to ignore leading "The"s for artists only
« on: March 24, 2022, 06:04:13 PM »
Good morning!

I am requesting the ability to toggle which fields you want to ignore the leading "The". Currently Musicbee has a toggle to either recognize or ignore a leading "The", but it applies across Artist, Album, and Song. I would like this to be granular, as I only wish to ignore the leading "The" for artists only.

Thank you!

Hi there! I see in this part of preferences the option to ignore words on your library list. But is there a way for it to only apply to Artist? When a song or album starts with "The", I'd consider that an important word. Unlike in band names where "The" tends to go before almost everything.

If this isn't a feature I will put it into Feature Requests. Thank you!

I've been noticing a LOT of poor lyrics being pulled from the lower tier sites. I'd like to turn these sites off and just use a site like Genius, but MusicBee doesn't seem to find the songs on Genius - even though they are there. How is this working exactly? There's nothing unusual in the band or the song that would keep it from being found.

These lower tier sites all copy each others incorrect lyrics and it's just stupid.I know Genius said Google stole lyrics from their site so maybe Genius just is preventing anyone from accessing them for scraping lyrics.

I am expecting the Restore/Move/Size/Minimize/Maximize/Close box to appear like for every other taskbar item, but nothing happens.

I have the Track Information module on the left main panel, and I have stacked in this manner - lyrics / visualiser: spectrum / track information.

Depending on the size of the track name/album name, the track information box can get scroll bars. I would prefer an option that sees this box eat away at the space for the other boxes instead of getting bars. Especially since the Lyrics portion can be blank for some songs. That is the primary box I want displayed, so I would like it to always show the information I want to see instead of needing to scroll.

Thank you! I am new to MusicBee from MediaMonkey and after setting it up I like it quite a bit!
