Questions / Release data formatting (slashes or dashes?)
« on: January 13, 2022, 07:16:21 AM »
So I'm reorganizing my library with a new dating scheme. I'm using the standard "Year" field for the release date of that particular release/remaster itself. And then I'm going to use the "Original Year" field for the original release date of the very first release of that album. But what I'm wondering is, is there any functional difference between using a dash to separate the year, month, & day (yyyy-mm-dd) and using a slash (yyyy/mm/dd). I know that sometimes MusicBee can recognize different elements within info in the same field, so what I'm wondering is if that matters in this case.

Also, a somewhat related question... I'm looking through Hiccup's Bible of Tags (, and I'm wondering what is the difference in purpose between "date (original release date)" and "date (original release year)." The descriptions aren't exactly clear to me.

Anyway, thank you for reading.

Questions / Multiple-disc albums / Multiple cover arts?
« on: September 12, 2021, 08:46:46 AM »
I've already done a bit of searching around, but I can't find a satisfactory solution for what I'm trying to do. I have a multi-disc album (like a 20-disc box set), and I would like to have it all categorized together by the overall album title, but then broken up into each individual disc/disc title along with each individual disc's cover art. Someone mentioned in another forum turning on "enable all artwork to be selected and displayed," but I can't get that to work properly in the first place, but also it doesn't sound like that would associate each disc with any specific piece of art... Is there any possible way to do this in this fashion? Should I maybe submit a feature request? Thank you for reading.
