Questions / split library to sync to 2 separate destinations
« on: August 06, 2021, 04:10:33 PM »
My device has 2 SD cards. To keep the library organized on my device, I would like to sync half of my library (alphabetically) to one card and the other half to the 2nd card. So A-M on one and N-Z on the other, rather than fill one card up with random A-Z and then all the spill-off to the 2nd card, creating a chaotic haphazard file structure on my device. The best way I have been able to figure to do this on my own is to create two separate libraries in MusicBee (one for each half of the alphabet) and sync one library to one card and the other to the 2nd. The problem is that if I want to view my entire collection on MusicBee, I have to switch back and forth between libraries and can't see everything together in one collection. Is there an easier way to specify certain syncing rules so that I can have my PC's library all together in one library on MB but have it sync to my device separately as desired?

Portable Devices / entire library is copied every time I sync
« on: July 19, 2021, 11:54:53 PM »
I'm new to MB. It was my understanding that only files with changed file size or time codes would re-sync. I just changed the tag info in one file. I have not touched anything else in my library aside from that one file since my last time syncing (which was my first time to sync to my device -- it's a new device). However, the sync process is re-copying over my entire music library. Is this normal? I can't go through several hours of syncing (it's a large library) every time I want to add or change just a couple files. Is there a setting I need to adjust to only transfer altered files? I'm using the MB WiFi Sync app if that matters.

I'm new to using MB and am in the process of transferring my library to a newly owned device (FiiO M11, with GoneMad player). I have a very organized library so all my files have a wide assortment of tags. When I transfer my library to the device (via WiFi sync) some of the files' tags aren't copying over to the device. It's always just all non-standard tags within a given file (i.e.: the artist name, album title, and song title tags are copied over fine, but sort tags, comments, and embedded art and lyrics are not). This is only occurring with certain files though; other files transfer the complete tag information fine. I notice it is also the same files every time that have the problem (when I was first playing around with the WiFi sync, I had to delete the device's library and restart a couple times to get the settings right and it was the same songs missing tag info each time I synced). I've tried editing the files through MB after they are on the device, but even then the re-added tag info won't save. So any ideas on how I can get every file to copy all tag information over and/or what about these select files is preventing the tags to copy over?
